Eight Sushi Lounge Atlanta Reviews from The Last Year
I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant on
I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant on Father's Day. We arrived 20 minutes before opening as a group of five, including my 95-year-old mother-in-law. Despite our early arrival, the staff refused to let her sit inside to escape the heat, even though several employees were lounging at the bar. Once seated, we encountered issues with the lemonade order. It was excessively tart and tasted like soda water with lemons. When we requested a replacement with a Coke, the server insisted we had to pay for an additional drink because the lemonade was "made properly." After speaking with the manager, she explained that their lemonade is intentionally made this way and eventually brought us a Coke without an extra charge, but only as a special favor since it was for my elderly mother-in-law. I found it surprising and frustrating to have such a lengthy discussion about a drink, especially considering we had ordered $150 worth of food. The sushi was good, and the teriyaki chicken was basic. Overall, the experience was unwelcoming. I couldn't shake the feeling that there was something about us that made the staff treat us differently. This was a very disappointing experience, particularly on a special occasion like Father's Day.
This is one of my favorite sushi restaurants in the city.
The sushi is always incredibly fresh and the service on point. I had the roaring 20's roll my last visit. Love the tang of the mango and the spice in the roll. The fried Serrano peppers were a tad too hard however. This restaurant is beautiful and I like to sit at the sushi bar a lot. Prices are affordable given the area. Valet parking in the deck is $6.
Don’t ask for the lemonade

My favorite sushi restaurant in all of ATL! The service is
My favorite sushi restaurant in all of ATL! The service is impeccable and also the General Manager Camelia Gunawan is the best there is. I've never encountered a more kind and professional general manager than her. She knows her regulars like the back of her hand. I've never been on a first name basis with a manager at a restaurant. Go see her and tell her Payton sent you! The Tuna Crisp appetizer is a must. Easily my favorite appetizer on planet Earth. And you have to try the Kampachi Serrano. Truly mind boggling! The iced ponzu sauce that the dish rests on is pure genius. I also highly recommend Orange is the New Black. And of course their nigiri and sashimi are fantastic too. I moved into The Brady apartments above this restaurant BECAUSE of Eight Sushi.

Sushi was okay, a little disappointed given the overwhelmingly great reviews. Service was also decent. We weren't served until after 15 minutes after we were seated and at the same time, the fire alarm was blaring causing many customers to leave due to the noise and lack of evacuation or support from staff. Wouldn't come back.

Great casual place in west midtown for sushi (as the name suggests). We have been to eight sushi multiple times and it never disappoints. Service is prompt, the servers are funny and entertaining and the ambience is great. Parking is in the garage in the adjacent building and the only con is they don't validate parking. Now, coming to the food - it is amazing. Right from their appetizers - definitely try the gyoza to the tempura... its a treat for your tastebuds!! The rolls are unique and well thought of - esp the california rolls - they are well spiced and the mango sauce adds a great bit of flavor. Their sashimi is fresh and flavorful. All in all a great gastronomic experience - definitely recommend this place to all the sushi lovers out there

They had a very extensive menu, plenty of choices! Everything that I tried was great. The service was good as well. The restaurant had a cool trendy vibe. Great upbeat space. Will definitely be returning.
The sushi was great, but the vibe was not one of a high end
The sushi was great, but the vibe was not one of a high end restaurant as one would think based on the prices and that there was a minimum charge of $60/person for our reservation for 6. That seems a bit excessive when you have kids. We got multiple reminder about the dress code for no jeans, open toed shoes (I assume that means slippers), etc. and yet when we got there, there were people in shorts and t-shirts. I'd share pictures that I took but don't know if I'd be violating anyone's privacy). We had some issues with some of the food, and when we pointed it out to the manager, his response was lacking. Firstly, he stood there for a long time as opposed to immediately saying, he'll fix it and apologizing or even offering to not charge for it, which most high end restaurants would do. Even asking for a drink without ice resulted in the waiter not hearing it and bringing it with ice and then having to ask the manager if he could replace it! Surely a waiter could be given more discretion than that. Overall, good sushi spoiled by all these other issues. Would not go back. Rather try another place that is a bit more welcoming.
High quality sushi with different takes on how they put it
High quality sushi with different takes on how they put it together. Absolutely delicious between the four rolls we tried. Even the presentation is divine from the plating to the actual rolls. The ambience is more upscale. This is a spot we frequent whenever we're in the city wanting sushi.

We went in on a busy Friday night and did not have a reservation. The front desk person was very rude and unwelcoming and just made us never wanna come back. We went around the corner to the optimist and had an amazing meal instead so thank you for that.

Oh my gosh! My bf found eight sushi lounge on Reddit and man it did not disappoint! The inside was super cute and romantic but we opted to use their patio bc it's patio season!! They set the tables up very cute with flowers and nice table clothes so felt very cute vibe I started off with the MATCHARITA which was heavenly and so strong! It was matcha and margarita I mean what a perfect combo! My partner ordered a small bottle of the KIKUSUI PERFECT SNOW sake. For starters, we got the SALMON TATAKI (15.00-Slightly seared king salmon, miso glazed, serrano pepper, black caviar It was the perfect amount of savory and had the just perfect amount of kick from the Serrano. We also got the Wagyu sando- A5 wagyu, mushroom, sturgeon caviar this was the start of the show. Literally melted in your mouth and the bread crunch to Wagyu melt was insanely good. Then we both got our own rolls I got the burlesque roll and my partner got the rolling 20s roll. Burlesque roll was a yummy one if you like sushi's with sauce I recommend this one! I really liked the rolling 20s bc it was super fresh as well! Our servers name I think was Sean but he was absolutely amazing as well! Had the best time and will be back for another special occasion!

The best sushi in Atlanta! Great ambiance with professional
The best sushi in Atlanta! Great ambiance with professional and courteous staff. Never had to wait long for the sushi, and it's always consistent in taste. If unable to find reservations online, have found that you can sometimes find available reservations by phone. They have bar, sushi bar, indoor, and patio seating available.
Delicious shushi
Excellent sushi and dessert. Dinner with family, 2 daughters and spouse. Nearby parking and valet available. Quick service.
Burlesque Roll is Good! Everything else, eh.
The Burlesque roll was the best part of the meal for sure. We had the Manhattan, the King, and the Orange is The New Black. They were pretty ok. Very noisy. I didn't really think it was the "best sushi in Atlanta" but it was decent.
One of the best sushi in Atlanta
Please go to this restaurant. It’s been a long time since I haven’t had such a good meal. Amazing sushi with extremely fresh products.

A True Gem
Visiting Atlanta for business & so glad we had dinner at Eight Sushi. Magnificent experience of solid high quality sushi. Flavors were incredibly delicious. Plate presentation was superb. Variety was truly enjoyable. Waiter (Andy) was well versed, explained various dishes expertly & provided friendly service. We were going to skip dessert, but really glad we didn’t. We shared & enjoyed two desserts. First a bread pudding which was light & mouthwatering. Second, apple pie, but not your ordinary pie, this was at a different level. What a fantastic line of desserts, with balanced exquisite flavors. Congratulations to management for a well run establishment & congratulations to the Executive Chef and the kitchen team. Something this good is not by accident, but by attention to detail.
