Duck Duck Goat Chicago Reviews from The Last Year
I had very high expectations for this because it was the
I had very high expectations for this because it was the first restaurant reservation I made after I booked my ticket to Chicago. Needless to say, I was disappointed with the food because everything was overly salty :( We got: Crab Rangoon: Pretty good, generous crab filling (this one wasn't salty) Spicy sticky wings: Good! The wings were tender and the meat fell off the bone. We asked for less chili crunch. I did feel like it was a bit heavy on the sauce and the side sauce wasn't necessary. I still loved it though and the extra coated sauce didn't necessary bother me. Moo Shu: SKIP! Way too salty and the bacon was weird. The sauce that came with it made the wrap was overly salty. It wasn't what I expected. Duck fried rice: good but I felt like it was on the salty side. My husband loved it though. Baobing: we got the simple sweet cream and guava soft serve. It was average but it made for an amazing palette cleanser Prices are fair, I think it's way better priced than the Girl and the Goat. Service was attentive and atmosphere was excellent. After dinner, my lips were dry from the salt lol. I went back to my hotel and chugged water and juice. I like the almond cookie at the end.
Unique and flavorful Chinese restaurant in the heart of
Unique and flavorful Chinese restaurant in the heart of Fulton Market. There's a LOT of amazing restaurants in Fulton Market, but this one takes a special place in my heart for its incredible, unique food. I came here for restaurant week brunch with my friends and recently came back to get the omelette. Now I know what you're thinking... and omelette? TRUST ME- this is the best omelette I've ever had in my life. The fried onion, mound of sauce, spices--- incredible. I'm a huge sauce girl and didn't even need anything else on top in addition. Must try!!

We came here in a smaller group, and were seated at the bar till our table was ready. The wait wasn't too long, we did have a reservation. The service was very friendly and they gave great recommendations. We ordered family style so we could try couple different dishes. Our favourites were duck fried rice, and veggie spring rolls. We all also enjoyed our drinks! Will be coming back for more!
Love this place.
One of my favorite restaurants in Chicago, which says a lot as Chicago has a lot of great restaurants. The aesthetic and service is also fantastic.
Went to here for our anniversary had an amazing experience!
Went to here for our anniversary had an amazing experience! Food and drinks were delectable. The Staff were very knowledgeable about the menu items. Our server even helped us find a bar for an after dinner drink. If I lived in Chicago I would eat here at least once a month!
Another amazing dinner! Service was super attentive.
Menu items are delish! It's impossible to go wrong with any item! The Frizzard dessert was an awesome way to end our meal!
Duck duck goat was one of the best meals we had in Chicago!
Duck duck goat was one of the best meals we had in Chicago! I can see why the restaurant comes so highly recommended. We had dinner reservations and were promptly seated upon arrival. The decor is beautiful and our table was in an intimate emerald green room. Our server was very helpful and helped us pick options for our group of four. The meal is intended to be eaten family style so we started with the bao buns and sticky wing appetizers. For our entrees we had the pecan chicken, beef with broccoli, duck fried rice and dan dan noodles. The pecan chicken was a hit and the beef with broccoli was surprisingly good. There was a lot of beef and it was cooked to perfection. The fried rice was amazing too. We ended our meal with dessert for the table. I'm still thinking about who good this meal was while writing this review. I'll definitely be back!!

Super packed on a Tuesday night! I love the atmosphere of the restaurant right as I walked in. Staff was attentive and we were seated right away for our reservation at 5:30PM. This is a fun place to eat at with a small group of friends. The menu is easily shareable and you'll get to try different dishes. We ordered Jiaozi (beef short rib and bone marrow potstickers), Duck and Goat Spring Rolls and Xi'an Goat Slap Noodles. The Duck and Goat Spring Rolls and Jiaozi were a bit on the gamey side when it comes taste. The Xi'an Goat Slap Noodles has a kick to it if you don't like spicy. The noodles are delicious and thick cut. Very fragrant flavors. All in all, lots of goat, lots of duck and lots of savory and spicy dishes at Duck Duck Goat!
Amazing food and great service.
Highly recommend the Peking Duck (need to reserve as they have limited availability) and the Jaozi. Cute decors, not too fancy and not too casual. Nice place to have dinner and many bars in the area to check out after.

Visiting from Boston and happily was referred here by a friend. Outstanding food - delicious high quality dim sum and dishes designed to share. Creative house cocktails . Service is great . A day of reservation on Open Table could only accommodate us outside for the patio for a party of two and then during appetizers of goat and shrimp shumai (fantastic!) and goat and duck soup dumplings (exquisite steaming pillows of yumminess) with cocktails (The Cure) , it began to rain and a responsive staff moved us indoors to bar seats to finish the rest of our meal - mapao tofu with pork (server was on point to recommend a white rice with this as the sauce is outstanding. ) I think I would've preferred the tofu to be crispy in this dish rather than soft but it was still awesome. Pork belly with pancakes and pickled veggies was also fantastic! I was too full for more than mint tea but my son had the mango shaved ice with vanilla ice cream and fresh kiwi on top - a generous portion he ate every bite of! Ambiance is nice, low key- very crowded and bustling at 6- 730 on a Thursday . Make a reservation ! It's well worth it .
Arrogance
Booked via open table 2 months ago. Confirmed reservation as requested through the app. Family dinner w/daughter who had been here before. Night of reservation receive message from open table app—your table is ready let us know that you are coming. Responded with #1 yes. 90 seconds later arrive at restaurant. Check in which takes minutes because the restaurant is packed and there is a line out the door. Host says “table’s not ready but should be shortly, go to the bar.” We say “ just received message that table is ready.” He says “table not ready yet.” We don’t go to the bar which turns out to be a good thing. 18 minutes later I ask about the table. This time am told by hostess “you weren’t here on time so we gave the table away. We will seat you when we can.” Argued the point. But she just kept on with “we gave your table away.” Obviously that exchange should have happened when we checked in having been told that our table was “ready.” Instead we wait for no reason. I ask when the table will be ready, answer “I don’t know.” Beyond unhelpful. Ten minutes later we are shown a high top at the end of the bar. It’s that or nothing. We leave. 30 minutes of waiting. If you give my table away tell me when I check in. The staff at the check in desk were arrogant, unhelpful and misleading. This restaurant can not support the reservations that they take. I don’t know if it’s an open table issue or a Duck Duck Goat issue but they are far too crowded and nobody is seated on time and yet while you battle the crowds at the front desk they will give away a table that you booked months ago and acknowledged seconds ago.
Yes worth a second visit
After a rocky start, waited way too long for our reservation table. Things got better very quickly 3 of us with 1 vegetarian. The wait staff incredibly good at pointing out some great options and on how much to order Food was tasty and well presented A tad cramped but over all a good experience. We will go again Just be prepared for it to be very busy
Both Food taste and service was terrible .
Everything was too salty and we poured water to make less salty. We said about this issue to the server and one of other staff member but they didn't react anything. Don't go this place. I was so mad for service today. It was terrible experience ever.
Amazing everything Best short rib and bone marrow
Amazing everything Best short rib and bone marrow dumplings I ever had. Shishito peppers were a combination of crunchy and soft. Delicious drinks, amazing vibe.

Whoaaa! This place is a hidden freaking gem! I finally tried it after hearing a lot of hype from my friends. And oh boy, did it live up to my expectations. The ambiance has dim lighting, Chinese art work, warm and inviting vibe. My friends and I ordered from their vegetarian/vegan friendly menu. We shared scallion pancakes, veggie spring rolls, mushroom potstickers, glass noodles, mapo doufu and veggie fried rice. The portions are decent and it's super yummy, flavorful and perfect amount of spice for me. While all dishes were spot on, but mushroom potstickers stole the show for me. They were amazingly crispy, and delicious. We also got complimentary almond cookies after dinner. Drinks were also very good (we tried a few and all turned out to be incredible). The service was decent too and server did a good job in explaining the vegetarian menu. It still amazes me that this was my first visit here in spite being in Chicago for the last 7 years. Duck Duck Goat now is my favorite Chinese restaurant and I can't wait to visit again!
Excited to come here to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday.
Had a reservation at 7 and had to wait about 5 minutes for the table to be ready- not too bad. We were seated and were t approached by a waiter for about 5 minutes. it was a pretty busy Wednesday evening. Ordered some drinks. took about another 10-15 minutes for the waiter to approach to order dinner. we ordered 4 dishes for two of us and it was plenty of food, with leftovers! We started with the xiao long bao. Nothing too exciting, had an interesting and salty broth. The hot and sour soup does not taste like your authentic type, and wasn't a big fan of it. The xian goat slap noodles were dry and had too much cumin. Very overpowering. My favorite dish was the veggie fried rice. Overall, food was not the best or impressive for the prices. And to top it off, service was extremely slow. I was shocked by the quality and taste of the food based on how popular this restaurant was! Sadly, I don't think I'll be returning and not worth the cost
Went here during Chicago Restaurant Week for their lunch
Went here during Chicago Restaurant Week for their lunch menu. Jiaozi potstickers were so good, kinda reminded me of Din Tai Fung . Their fried rice omelette was to die for . Each dining room inside were themed and well-decorated. Love the ambience. Service was very quick!
Went for brunch.
Food was tremendous! Service was great! We ordered too much, but ate 90% I think I gained 2 pounds. I like spicy foods and got the hot sauce trio on the side - perfect. Drinks are a bit pricey so maybe get tea or lemonade (great lemonade). Only issue is the same for many places there which is parking, probably best deal is to Uber there. Definitely would go again.
This place was a winner for the entire party of 4 I went
This place was a winner for the entire party of 4 I went with. I've ordered to-go from here several times before and loved it, but the dining in experience was even better given the prompt and efficient service, vibrant decor, aromatic smells, and sizzling hot and delicious food that came out of the kitchen. From appetizers, to entrees, to dessert, to cocktails, everything I have had here is a 10/10
Made a reservation a week in advance for 6 people at 5 pm
Made a reservation a week in advance for 6 people at 5 pm on a Saturday. Definitely a fun and unique dining experience. I will note that in the evening the lighting is low, but not too dark to enjoy your time. The food and drinks were reasonably priced for the quality of food. The portions are family style so I highly recommend sharing multiple dishes to try a variety of flavors and meals. A really fun spot for a nice date night or for a friend's gathering.
Stopped in here on a cold day when looking for lunch.
Super loud and busy place, but the staff is very at the attentive despite this. The food was okay. There was a hair in one of our dishes and multiple people stopped by to apologize and we fill they fixed the problem right away.

Went here for Chicago restaurant week, they had a planned menu and it was Amazing! Really recommend this place for sure.
Best fried rice ever
We visited on a small family trip to Chicago, the atmosphere is fun and cool and dark. The neighborhood is super busy so you mostly have to either walk in or get dropped off nearby. I was visiting with some family and friends and I'll be honest and say I'm not the most adventurous eater. I had looked at the menu before, and I didn't want to eat hearts or livers. I had resigned myself to eating GOAT since that's one of the main things on their menu. SIGH. I decided I could do that. So anyway I told my dining companions... maybe no hearts or livers? and we still found SO MUCH GOOD FOOD. Every single dish they brought to us was brilliant and delicous, even the goat. But the very very best thing, was the duck egg fried rice. You don't even know fried rice until you've had this. It's spoiled every single ever fried rice for me.
I'll be back for sure
We had a terrific dinner! Spicy, but not over the top. We were a bit early for our reservation and first enjoyed a Chinese beer at the bar. Very friendly staff. By the looks of they they do great cocktails. Our table shared the food, so we had the waiter pick some 7 different things of the menu. That was a great decision and much easier :-) The heart of duck might sound a bit scary to some, but it was to die for! The service was terrific; smiling, fast and friendly. all in all the evening felt lige great value. I'm coming back for sure 👍
Get the noodles!
Superb food. Good service. Our meals were excellent. The goat shumai special was really good and the xiao long bao were a nice take on the Shanghai version. The dan dan noodles were the star, though. The hand-pulled noodles were tender, chewy perfection and the sauce was very flavorful; so many dan dan noodles taste like a kid stirred some peanut butter in spaghetti. The decor is nice. The tables were a little cramped and the room was a little loud for an early Sat dinner before a show.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
