Excellent in every way until the main menu item
My daughter and I were there for dinner and had the five course fix menu. Everything was exceptional: the ambience, the staff, food preparation and presentation. The exception was the steak, which was the main menu item. 1st we were not asked how the steak should be prepared, which I thought unusual. It was a New York strip. I had never seen a New York strip look like this. It was served medium rare and only warm. The real issue was that in my opinion, it was a bad cut of beef. My standard is Ruth Chris steak House. There was gristle from the first slice. Since I was already full from the day of wine tasting, I did not make an issue of it and in fairness I could’ve returned it, which I did not. There was a shift change at the close of my dinner, and they never asked how it was. I will give them the benefit of confusion at that point. Being from the Midwest, I have had a lot of steaks. For me.This will probably be the worst. Mark A. Butterworth
Be the first to ReplyHappy Hour at Spirit Bar
We enjoyed Happy Hour at the Spirit Bar which is between the Hotel Healdsburg and Dry Creek Kitchen, Charlie Palmer's famous and elegant restaurant. Beautiful, elegant indoor space, and a spacious outdoor courtyard as well. Check the website carefully, and go on a night that the food comes from Dry Creek Kitchen. Earlier in the week, the food is sourced at a local pizzeria, which is fine, but nothing like the Dry Creek Kitchen experience! Music also most Friday and Saturday nights. Salmon frites was a hit as well as the Smash Burger, burrata and the Lobster Corn Dogs is fun and unusual!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Dining Experience
We spent our final dinner in Healdsburg here and had a fabulous time. Dry Creek Kitchen offers a 3-course Prix Fixe or 5-course tasting menu. We went for the three item version, which was more than enough food. We especially enjoyed the seared duck breast and my wife’s chocolate peanut butter bar may have been the star of the show. However, the best reason to come here is the extraordinary wine list, with an extremely deep list of almost exclusively Sonoma selections.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect dinner!
Wonderful experience! My daughter and had dinner here last night and it was great! Adam, our waiter, was excellent! Great recommendations on what to order and on wines. We had the burrata, octopus, steak and mushroom pasta which were all amazing. Dessert didn't disappoint either! Peanut butter bar and the cheese plate were a perfect finish. Would definitely recommend this restaurant!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent meal with great service
We returned to Dry Creek Kitchen after 11 years…this time with our adult children…the food and the service was outstanding! Just like we remembered it from 2011. This restaurant is a “must do” if you are in the Healdsburg area. Visit Jordan, Seghesio and Rafanelli if you get the chance.
Be the first to ReplyJust really good food
From the focaccia with aniseed and chives, to the freshness of the melon and Parma ham to the apricot sorbet, every dish was imaginative, tasty and kept us on our toes guessing what ingredients they used.
Be the first to ReplyIt’s the best in Healdsburg
This is a great restaurant, offering an affordable fine dinning experience, with great food, and great staff. It’s certainly a lovely place, the food is sophisticated, atmosphere is professionally relaxed, with great service. A must if you are visiting Healdsburg.
Be the first to ReplyPricey but good
Although Dry Creek Kitchen features in the Michelin Guide, it doesn't have the accolade of a Michelin star. It's already at the expensive end of the spectrum ($75 for the 3-course prix fixe menu; $115 for the 5-course tasting menu; plus taxes, service charge, etc.), so a star would probably hike the prices into the stratosphere. The dining style is casual but refined, although service was a little haphazard, e.g. wrong cutlery (twice), wrong plates of food (once), wrong menu (once) and a lengthy wait for the check. But the food was mainly worth it and it's the sort of place we'd be happy to return to.

My wife and I have dined at numerous Michelin rated restaurants and this one is the first we've found lacking. Quite disappointing. A very beautiful room welcomes the diner and the staff are numerous and somewhat reserved. The limited menu is well chosen and the wine list overly extensive and expensive. Unfortunately, the kitchen's creativity and execution was rather lacking. Average. There are several far better restaurants in Healdsburg.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious Food & Respectful Service for Solo Diner
I was in Northern California for the first time after many years, so I decided to treat myself to a lovely dinner. I had high expectations for Dry Creek Kitchen, and the restaurant surpassed them. They even offered an extra touch I didn't expect. First the expected: The food was delicious. In fact, I think I said "Oh my god" out loud at least once (and probably twice, but who's counting). The bread they offer at the start is fantastic. Then I had the warm beets and burrata starter, the NY Strip for my main, and the chocolate peanut butter bar for dessert. OMG. So. Good. They offered a few extras morsels for dessert that were also very tasty. I also expected excellent service, which I received. Here's what surprised me: I received respectful service as a solo diner. Other times when I've dined alone, someone often says something like "Just one?" or "Just you?" While this isn't (usually) meant as a negative or slight and I can handle it--I love traveling on my own--it feels unnecessary. And some people are judgmental about it or make a big issue about it. Or they can come across like they pity you. Any of that can get a bit tiresome. I felt none of that at Dry Creek Kitchen. The service was attentive, gracious, not overbearing, and, at times, a bit playful. I loved it all. I would go back in a heartbeat. Everything about my experience was delightful, delicious, and well worth it.
Be the first to ReplyPrix Fixe menu with some options
I’m usually cautious about prix fixe menus – can be expensive with items that are not your favorite. There are several options for each of the 3 courses, so our party of 6 was able to order to individual likings with ease. Service was prompt.
Be the first to ReplyCelebrating a 52nd Anniversary in style
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner at Dry Creek Kitchen. We were comped for a champagne toast, a very nice touch. The wait staff was very attentive, the food and drink were outstanding. We enjoyed the 3 course prix fixe and found the choices were all good. Husband could have meat and I enjoyed a delicious fish dish since I am a pescatarian (no meat or poultry). Our desserts were decorated with Happy Anniversary. The tables were well spaced. Definitely would recommend for that special evening.
Be the first to ReplyAlways wonderful
Service here is amazing and professional, the menu is creative without being pretentious. I am not thrilled by the 3 course menu, because it is more food than I can eat but I have not had a bad meal here (6 visits in the last year and a half). The pork dishes are always good and the salmon is also a favorite. I appreciate that they comp corkage for Sonoma county wines although with an extensive wine list it requires a little research to not bring one they have on their list. The manager always stops by the table to check on his guests as well. If there is an issue it is remedied immediately and with apologies. As a side note, we also had dinner at Spoonbar on this trip which is at Hotel Healdsburg sister property, there was a night and day difference is all aspects. Dry Creek Kitchen is pretty amazing.

Delicious! $75 menu with choices for three choices. Everything we tasted was wonderful, with the exception of a vegetarian pasta. The pork chop was exceptional. The room and the service were welcoming, and the wine list was extensive. And they finished up with truffles and small finger pastries!

The food was superb and the sommelier was such an expert in pairing the wines and encouraging us to try new things! Loved it!
Be the first to ReplyAnother amazing dinner (and on a holiday too!)
We love Dry Creek Kitchen - gorgeous open dining room, fantastic food and generous portions. Bonus points for the no-corkage if your wine is 100% bottled in Sonoma County. There are many great dining options in/around Healdsburg and this place continues to be top of our list for classic American food done well. I always find Holiday dinners and special events to be "off" but we've had two mind-blowing Thanksgiving dinners over the past couple of years - every bit as good as the regular menu (which they offer as well).
The patio area looks lovely too - just go. It is worth every penny.
First-rate, all around
Pre-fix menu with plenty of choice through the first choice, entre, to dessert. Six of us and everyone enjoyed all of their choices. I had six scoops of ice cream for dessert! The steak, duck breast, pasta were all great. Service was excellent, very attentive. We enjoyed eating outside, with tables spaced apart and good heaters. Also, quite a fair price for what we received.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious and thoughtful food, with equally thoughtful staff
My girlfriend and I traveled to Healsburg for a quick vacation, and stumbled on this absolutely incredible dinner experience! Ask for the chicken course, seared crispy. It's a delight. We've been touring lots of restaurants around the Bay, and this is definitely on our list of favorites. The staff treated us with respect and care, keen to all the details.

We had a party of four and all thoroughly enjoyed the 3 course prix fixe dinner at Dry Creek Kitchen recently. There were many choices for each course that satisfied each of us. I feel I must go back soon just to eat the black cod dish again that was exquisite. We sat inside, which was so enjoyable after months of being relegated to outdoor dining. Service was excellent, although I think the kitchen may have been understaffed because the wait between courses was very long (30 minutes average). Despite the length of the visit, we had a good time and will go back again soon. Great wait staff and lovely atmosphere, too.

Fantastic meal and wonderful service. The Black Cod and olive oil cake were amazing. We were there on a rainy Monday evening and ate indoors. It was a perfect evening .

I've lost count of the number of times our family has celebrated special events (and, yes, Wednesday CAN be a special event!) at the Dry Creek Kitchen. The General Manager, Dan Prentice, and his staff always make us feel so very special each time we are there. We have enjoyed our meals in both the dining room and the outdoor patio~ staff has never missed a beat in either location. The seasonal menu is full of innovative offerings and the staff is wonderful at accommodating food preferences. Erin, the sommelier, is so very easy to talk to about wine and we have a great time taking her suggestions and learning about a new wine. Erin's wine paring ideas are spot on and it is absolutely worth taking the time to speak with her. The bartenders, waitstaff, bussers, are all very professional and polite. We never feel as if they are "hovering," but their attention to detail means that our plates always come out of the kitchen hot and together. I so appreciate that dishes are not cleared until everyone has finished their meals. I've been left to finish my meal alone in so many places while other plates have been cleared away.
We have loved everything that has come out of the kitchen and always feel as if we have been treated like family.
Dry Creek Kitchen is a MUST if ever in Healdsburg. We will be back again soon.
Nice place
We stopped in for a dessert in the evening. The staff seemed to be disappointed that we we’re not having dinner but the waitress was very nice about it. We had dessert and a couple of rounds of drinks so it was a decent bill. Dessert was lovely. The outside patio was very nice. I would definitely go back for dinner another time.
