Disfrutar Barcelona Reviews from The Last Year
Unique, delicious and fun... Exceptional experience
Disfrutar delivers yet again… I was welcomed back by maître d' Vicente and chefs Oriol Castro and Eduard Xatruch. On this return visit I opted for the Classic tasting menu and the chefs offered to make a substitution on 4 of the dishes to keep the experience fresh … a kindness that was appreciated (although that menu has already evolved since I had it in 2018). As on my previous visits, both the cuisine and the service were stellar… Disfrutar is entirely deserving of its 3 Michelin stars (and its 2024 ranking as No.1 restaurant in the world)

6/6/2024 Woohoo #1 on The World's 50 Best! Congrats to Disfrutar! Super well deserved!!
Missing an essential element
I’ll start by saying I was lucky to be included in a last minute reservation as I had emailed them and asked to be put on a waitlist, which I was accepted a week before. Stroke of fate which I am still grateful for. The restaurant is centrally located and easy to get to and in plain sight. The entry was is unassuming but host is warm and everyone is very friendly. You get a brief tour in the beginning and they seat you right into service. First red flag was that we were seated in the entryway hallway before the kitchen, a dark cramped ugly spot. I almost asked to be moved but realized I was still lucky to get in, so I said nothing and went with it. Second red flag is they had asked me beforehand which menu I would be doing and while I had done a bit of peeking on the classics menu and was told it was best for first timers, I thought I would roll the dice and go for Festival menu as it would yield more surprises not displayed in the common blogs. The staff was a bit pushy with 2 separate leaders coming over to tell me they strongly suggest to do the classic menu, which was a bit surprising. I held my ground and explained I would prefer the festival menu to be surprised, plus it contains many of the classic dishes already. Bit of a sour opening but also willing to overlook. The dishes came at steady pace and it’s pretty fast and furious, they were fun and thoughtful, all tasted delicious and overall don’t stuff you to the gills. I had to ask for a break around 12-15 just to stretch so make sure to tell them when you need a pause. Service overall was excellent however some dishes just felt lost in translation when it came to explaining them succinctly. Felt no one explained the festival theme or connected the dots on the menu. There’s no steady string to the meal beyond a mix of greatest hits and plays on Spanish dishes. Third red flag is the kitschy-ness of multiple dishes that had nothing to do with either fun/flavor. For example a smoking box filled with seaweed and poorly cooked shrimp was meant to invoke fear of reaching into a box. Or reaching into a box with a double sided mirror - did absolutely nothing to enhance the experience. There was also some different herbs in a Jell-O shot that seemed a bit silly looking back Were there incredible dishes that made you go wow - yes. Many were visually stunning and of course things taste amazing when you stuff good caviar on top. The wine program was terrific and the Som was terrific in teaching about the wine regions and flavor profiles, so great addition to add wine but be ready for a lot of drinks. For reference I’ve been to Central (#1 in the world) which they are in that position for one very important reason. The food is exciting and they’re an incredible storyteller. I left not only with a special book but a deeper appreciation for Peru. Disfrutar didn’t hit the story elements and they felt almost commercial. The food still was delicious, but did I feel it was special? - maybe not. $800 later we finish up in the back garden and I wonder if this is the best Spain has to offer…?
A flamboyant lunch at a 3, 2, 290, 28, 5, 6 restaurant!....Great, mind blowing start till novelty wears off
Today’s luncheon extravaganza was supposed to be the gastronomic highlight of our European trip. With 3 Michelin stars, voted #2 in San Pellegrino’s 2024 World’s best 50 restaurant list, a luncheon menu costing 290 Euro, 28 courses, 5 hours duration…..this hard-to-come-by DISFRUTA reservation was secured over 6 months ago!! Totally unexpected, to me, the most memorable moment during our entire meal turned out to have nothing to do with the food, but when my son commented that ‘ his buttock hurts ‘!! That was after our lady server announced to us, after 2.5 hours, that we have just reached ‘ half-time ‘!!😆 Seriously, the meal indeed started off with a parade of eye opening, whimsical and fun, interactive creations that were absolutely gorgeous and mind-blowing. These master-pieces not only wow the palate, they also excite both our oral, olfactory and visual senses. Sadly, the novelty began to wear off after the first 14 courses or so. And with diminishing appetite, the latter part of the menu started to become a protracted, lethargic routine…….and the whole experience was made worse when our buttocks started to hurt!😂 By that time, we have lost interest in learning that our ‘ golden egg ‘ dish was not from a goose but eggs of crustaceans or that our ‘ Black’ Apple dessert was from a Spanish Golden Delicious apple that had been fermented for 2 months in order to concentrate the taste! For me, this dining experience turned out to be one of the most challenging and difficult ones to critique and review……so many conflicting factors to evaluate and consider. If only they would incorporate intermissions and allow patrons to take a breather?! Was it worth the time and money for this unique and award winning experience?! Oh Yeah!! You bet! Will I return? That’s a tough one to answer!.....maybe, if they seat us in massaging arm chairs?!😁
Best in Barcelona now
Fantastic food, fantastic service! This is a foodie experience wonderland in 4 hours. We practically hit the ground running arriving the same day all the way from California. I would like to return for the seasonal menu to try. We were able to nab this reservation as we put our name on the waitlist…so don’t lose hope as it can happen! And it did happen for us!
Just astonishing, much more an experience than a meal
I chose this restaurant before they gained their third star. I’d already decided to spend my 60th birthday in Barcelona, and from reviews I’d read of Disfrutar, decided this is where I’d like my birthday meal. Another factor in its favour was that they could adapt their bewildering menu for vegetarians and accommodate a fish allergy. The result was just amazing. I will never truly understand how they can serve 28 courses (called elaborations I think) without you feeling ridiculously full, but you don’t. Many courses just seemed to consist of pure taste and sensation but without any bulk, it’s pure magic. I can’t start to describe the inventiveness of the dishes, but literally none disappointed. Service was impeccable as you might expect from a 3 Michelin starred restaurant, and it certainly isn’t cheap, but it is worth it. I’ve eaten at other 2 and 3 Michelin starred restaurants, but nothing quite like this, it is unique. The paired drinks (11 in all) were thoughtful and enhanced the experience further. How you can order a bottle of wine that would complement such a range of tastes is beyond my ability. Thank you Disfrutar for making my 60th birthday so enjoyable and utterly memorable.
Outstanding!
A truly magnificent experience! Service was impeccable, food was delicious and inventiven, sommelier's suggestions on wine were perfect. We would definitely come back no matter where we would be seated.

Initially, 28 'courses' may seem like a daunting task for a 3 or 4 hour meal but when many of the courses seem to just explode then evaporate in your mouth leaving behind a multitude of flavors, well, 28 is quite do-able! And be prepared to smile, giggle and occasionally laugh out loud in surprise and delight. This is not dining but rather an elevated level of culinary art: an expression of what food and dining can and should be. This is Disfrutar! Each course is prepared and presented to perfection. The staff seems to disappear and reappear magically for each course. And I strongly recommend the offered wine pairing menu to accompany the meal. Each wine is an absolutely perfect match to each course. This is an extremely serious restaurant but with a great sense of humor. They want to see you smile, giggle and laugh with delight! I've been to several 3 star restaurants throughout the world but Disfrutar is otherworldly.
ASK TO BE SEATED AT THE MAIN DINNING ROOM OR YOU RISK SEATING IN A DARK, DUNK, UGLY HALLWAY.
I just left Disfrutar without eating but €300 poorer. I had eaten at Disfrutar last year and really loved it, so I made a reservation to go with my daughter who is a foodie and really excited about the fine dinning experience. I tailored my trip to Barcelona to accommodate our Disfrutar meal. We anticipated this day for many months. But today when we arrived at the restaurant our table was not in the main room overlooking the kitchen as we expected, but in a dark, ugly hallway by the entrance. It really looked like a mid neighborhood joint, not at all a 3 starred Michelin restaurant for which I was about to drop €700 +. I’ve always thought that it took Disfrutar this long to earn a third star because the local’s entrance is not up to standard, and that’s where we were going to be eating. The wait stuff told us that this was our only option since their dinning room was full. Then they tried to convince us that the space was actually better. That was kind of infuriating. We asked if they’ll charge the penalty fee and they said they will. Frankly I think they shouldn’t have, because what they were offering was so inferior we decided to leave rather than spend the whole meal feeling we were second class costumers. So we are a cautionary tale: make sure to ask, when you make your reservation, to be seated in the main dinning room. A normal person would never expect to be seated in the horrible space by the entrance, but make sure to ask because if you don’t you’ll be missing out the experience and paying the same price.

After having been exposed to the top restaurants of the world from childhood, raised by extreme foodies, Disfrutar is in a class of its own. This was hands down, the best meal I've ever had in my life. I do not say that lightly. Every dish has you captivated in absolute astonishment, forcing you to question everything that you have ever considered food or a dining experience. Unpretentious, absolute wonder in every bite, simply amazing. Michelin star restaurant after Michelin star restaurant, Disfrutar is on a completely different level FAR above all the rest. It's almost hard to write a review grand enough to properly honor the treasure that is this place. Absolutely extraordinary, culinary genius. Thank you for bringing your art to this world. So grateful to have been there and hope to someday return.

I don't think there are words to describe how incredible Disfrutar was. Start to finish bite after bite and sip after sip - unimaginable creativity and flavor. True art. One of the best things in Barcelona. Skip the Sagrada Familia and beg for a table, kidding, kind of.
The most amazing dining experience I've had.
Wonderful flavors and unbelievable dishes. Cannot wait to go back. Fantastic service and very pleasant atmosphere.

The worst thing about a meal at Disfrutar is that the journey from the heavens back to the mortal world is a long way down. It is in a league of its own and other Michelin 3s and 2s feel like your run-of-the-mill neighborhood restaurants in comparison. Playful, yet elegant, Disfrutar's creative artistry is evident from her very first dish, and she plays with your senses as well as your mind at every opportunity. El bulli alums, Castro, Xatruch and Casanas are doing Ferran and Albert proud, and having recently dined at Enigma, which is another fantastic option in Barcelona, I can easily conclude that the prodigies have surpassed their masters. No. 2 in the world on the Pellegrino list when we visited, Disfrutar will likely be no. 1 in 2024.

"Can we give Disfrutar a 6 out of 5 stars?" - my husband We went to Disfrutar this past summer as it's been on my husband's bucket list for a while, and it did not disappoint. The courses were incredible, and it was an overall 10/10 experience from beginning to end. Truly unforgettable, and we would go back in a heartbeat.
The most creative meal I have ever had! This is truly one
The most creative meal I have ever had! This is truly one of the most amazing food experience! I was only in Barcelona for three days, and I was lucky enough to get off of the waitlist for disfrutar. People usually need make reservation a year in advance. This two Michelin star restaurant offers a 28 course meal with either the classic option or a festive option that is for newer dishes. This restaurant is also ranked number 2 in the world. Absolutely love the whole entire experience, and it is definitely a memorable experience. The whole takes about 4 hours so make sure to leave enough time for the meal. It is very apparent from every dish how much thought goes into it. Every dish is just perfectly executed. Highly recommend everyone to try to snag a reservation if you can when visiting Barcelona! The staff is so professional and explains every dish in detail before serving. I also love how they showcase how some of the ingredients came about. Even though 4 hours is a long time for a meal, but trust me it does not feel like 4 hours with 28 dishes coming at you one after another. Very reasonably priced as well comparing to the two Michelin star restaurants in US. The ambiance is great as well. Before you start dining, they take you to see the kitchen and explain some design elements of the restaurant.

Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate

Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

Yes unfortunately they are finding more and more ways to lock up sellers money. Sell thru rate, refund rate, limiting withdrawal amounts ler day and per month (which for me are the same number which makes no sense). Lot of sellers leaving as you can see from the lifetime sales not really increasing. Most posts on here are frustrated sellers which is not a recipe for success

I’m sorry to hear about this - I’m a brand new seller on the platform and didn’t realize this was a *thing* - any chance you can point me to the fine print/documentation where this policy is stated (also identifying other caveats like this would be appreciated)?
