Came here on a Sunday night after spending the day with a few friends. When you first walk in, the inside looks fairly small but then the restaurant extends towards the back and you'll find more seating. It's fairly spacious in the back so you don't have to worry about feeling on top of the person next to you or have to worry about having to say "excuse me" as you try to get into your table. Our waitress was fast and super kind. We started with their fried rolls which I think are like spring rolls? Either way, super tasty and full of flavor. We also got the papaya salad and short rib entree to share. The short rib was a little chewy but still packed with so much flavor. I've only had the Thai version of papaya salad but surprisingly this papaya salad had v similar flavor. Vietnamese food is one of my faves and it's safe to say, I'll for sure be back!
Be the first to ReplyI really enjoyed the food here.
The rice cake omelet was full of fresh and bright flavor to contrast the richness of the eggs, and I liked the textural difference coming from the rice cakes. The tofu banh mi was one of the best I've ever had - the sweet and tangy marinade had gone all the way through the tofu, meaning the sandwich was packed with flavor. The toppings were fresh and crunchy, and the bread had great texture to it as well. The taro chips were a nice accompaniment. The meal worked out to around $27 and the portions felt generous.

Broth, clean but flavorful. Service and Vibe were nice. If you're in BK and craving pho, this will hit the spot. Food: 8/10 Value: 8/10 Service: 8/10 Vibe: 8/10
Be the first to ReplyI loved Di An Di so much.
I don't eat meat, so finding a solid vegetarian pho can be sort of difficult! Di An Di absolutely delivers on that. The broth was very flavorful, light, and if you mix the egg in it becomes slightly creamy. Literally so good. The mushrooms were sautéed well, and smoky and rich. I honestly have never had such good vegetarian pho in my life. I also had the tofu entree with the vegan spring roll, rice noodles, mint, and cucumber. The tofu was cooked in my favorite way: crispy and saucy on the outside and soft in the middle. The sauce they cooked it with was amazing, and transferred well onto the noddles when mixed up. I was so full and couldn't get enough! Very excited to come back here, and its all at a very decent price! You get great portions for reasonable prices, and the food is amazing. There's nothing not to like!

I've visited this spot a couple of times before, but on my third visit, I noticed a significant drop in the quality of their Pho. The noodles were oddly thick yet fell short in length, which was disappointing. The broth turned out to be overly sweet, lacking the depth and variety of flavors I remembered. Considering this downturn, it no longer seems worth the trip to Greenpoint. Sadly, it feels like a farewell to what once was a go-to place."

Some of the most delicious Vietnamese food I've had in a casual and stylish setting. Having grown up (ie been spoiled by) the amazing food of Orange County, I am constantly craving *legit* Vietnamese in NY and this spot definitely hit the spot. Amazing flavor, generous portions and great service. Loved the traditional dishes, as well as more innovative items like a mezcal cocktail with passion fruit and condensed milk. Can't wait to go back and try other dishes like Pho!

Lovely pre-Valentines day/Lunar New Year dinner at Di An Di! We were seated promptly for our 5pm reservation in booth seating near the bar. We loved the Lunar New Year decor. We placed our order for pho and they came out shortly after. I loved the vegetarian pho! The broth was flavorful, unlike other places I've been too, and the noodles were chewy and delicious. I loved the unique texture of the various mushroom as well. I supplemented the broth with some hot sauce they provided on the table. Overall, will be back!

This place is the definition of hit or miss! Some of the dishes are fantastic (I adore the grilled short rib and the pho) and others are extremely lackluster (the rare beef salad, is simply put, abhorrent - we put it down after 2 bites). I want to like this place more because the ambience and location are desirable, but it's very easy to go wrong and end up ordering something that you can't imagine anyone would enjoy. They are also not the most accommodating of food allergies (my friend is allergic to shrimp and they weren't able to modify a dish to support this). Sometimes I love it, sometimes I feel like I've wasted a not-insignificant amount of money. Proceed with caution!
Be the first to ReplyFood was average at best.
Vegetarian/vegan options almost non existent and the real vegan option was "out right now". Then ordered "without cilantro please" and the papaya salad still came with cilantro full of. To be fair they did take that off the bill. I guess all in all disappointed with food selection and quality :(
Be the first to ReplyThe pho was fine.
The rice paper salad and wings were really good. Service was attentive and helpful when we had questions about certain menu items.

I really wanted to give this popular spot a fair shot, so decided to hold off on writing a review until after my second visit. But this review confirms how I felt during my first time here. The flavors are great, but the portions are small. I'll easily spend $40 on an entree + appetizer, and still leave feeling hungry. This experience was similar during both the times I visited. The beef in the beef pho is also very tough to chew. I may be missing the point because for most of my childhood, I was used to pho in big-bowl portions and tender slices of beef. Maybe it's not served that way at Di An Di, so I would share that as a disclaimer. It's also possible that the restaurant serves food from a very specific part of Vietnam. This information is not specified on the website, though I would love to know.

My friends from Hà Nội recommended Đi Ăn Đi for us to try their northern style phở. The interior is a really soothing place to be in, with ambient lighting, lots of greenery, and inviting furniture. I really loved how they decorated this place. We ordered the Gà Chiên (fried chicken), Phở Thìn Hà Nội (northern style beef phở), and Sườn Bò Nướng (grilled beef short rib). The gà chiên was really good--just the right amount of crispy and a really tender inside, marinated with a delightfully nutty fish sauce glaze. The short rib was okay. I feel like short rib in general tends to be expensive for what it is, and this didn't feel very different from other short rib dishes I've had in the past. But the phở--wow! My family is from Central Việt Nam, so I didn't grow up with this style of phở. The broth has such a clear and clean taste, so different from the hearty Southern style. The egg yolk, when mixed in, made it just slightly thicker. The noodles are thicker and the meat is thinner. It surprised me how light it felt considering it looks pretty similar to Southern phở. However, our meal here did feel quite pricey for what it was worth. If I lived closer, though, I would definitely be going here more often just for their phở!
Be the first to ReplyGood northern style vietnamese pho.
I thoroughly enjoyed the cleaner taste of the broth and the flat noodles. Skip the spring rolls, nothing special there. When I went, not sure if they have a different lunch menu from dinner but it was missing some items I would had hoped to be there ( bun Bo hue, banh xeo, etc. ) Short ribs over vermicelli was good and refreshing. Overall, good place for viet food in Williamsburg though definitely pricey. I would come back to try different items.

My buddy, who is one of the biggest food snobs I know, took me here. For context, I once got him a cookie from a place that he hadn't tried. He loved the cookie and was obsessed with this little bakery, until he realized it was a "chain." He never ate there again.Anyways, we make the push from the city to Greenpoint for this pho as "the broth is healing" according to him.We walk in, and immediately the vibes are immaculate. The host met us with a welcoming smile and sat us at the bar. The ambience was almost a fusion of mid-century modern architecture with a splash of traditional Vietnamese design. Reading that sentence back I have no idea if that made sense, but overall I just felt like you could eat off the floors in this place. We just got the pho, and BOY did it hit. The broth really did something for me. My first few spoonfuls were just broth and some green onions. It felt as though it possessed therapeutic qualities (some would say healing), think your first sip of water when you are absolutely parched on a scorching hot day. The beef was cooked to perfection and you could tell the noodles were handmade. My favorite pho I have had in all of the NYC area.

I came here after getting drinks nearby since I wanted to try their food and drinks and loved the ambiance! It's a tropical but eclectic sort of vibe and my boyfriend and I got to sit at the bar and watch the bartender make our drinks while we waited for our orders to arrive. I ordered the pandan painkiller and honestly, it was a little strange. I'm a big fan of pandan flavored goodies, but with the pineapple and lime added to it, it tasted a little too tart with the coconut cream. We ordered the Banh Trang Tron as an appetizer, which was rice paper salad with quail eggs, papaya, beef jerky, fried shallots, peanuts and a yummy tamarind sauce. This was pretty tasty and flavorful! We also ordered the De Nuong Xa, which was the sizzling lemongrass lamb belly that DEFINITELY came out sizzling! It was super flavorful with the red onion and okra that it was cooked with and paired nicely with the rice paper, sauce and veggies. The last dish that was had was a little disappointing, which was the lemongrass pork bun bowl. We thought it overall tasted okay but wasn't worth $20.Most of the dishes that we ordered were pretty tasty but I don't know if I would order the pandan drink again. Overall a nice environment with pretty tasty food, but a tad expensive for the amount of food provided.

Such a cute place!Beef pho was good! Broth was so good :) the noodles are flat and I've never seen that. Also noodles are short.. not sure if they're making it convenient for people to just scoop but the short noodles were odd. It was good but noodles felt over cooked. Broth and everything was really good thoughPork banh mi was okay. I think it would be better if the veggies were more pickled. The pork wasn't as flavorful. Also the pork's texture reminded me of like a bouncy sausage texture instead of what I'm used to.I originally went wanting to try the pizza but that was something from last year.Food was good and would def be back to try other things but the pork banh mi is def not something I'd get again :(

As a vietnamese, probably one of the worst unauthentic pho i've ever had. Soup was bland and tasted like msg filled soup. broth was meh. noodle was meh, beef was beyond meh, chicken thigh was so dry it tasted like breast. Subpar place overall, bar/drinks were probably the highlight from the visit.

Really delicious flavors! My fav was the pork skewers with rice and spring rolls, the phony Negroni was really good too! Great service and the dishes came out quick, can't wait to come back again!

Coming to this place forever and that is the only reason I will not give less than 3 stars. Telling a customer you are out of dessert when you clearly not, just in order to flip a table not ok! Give me an option to order a dessert before you bring the check. After we got the check, we off course wanted to order a dessert. The guy disappeared and came back to tell us there was no dessert for the night. It was very much not true. As we were leaving it was obvious desserts were not sold out.Short hair girl in front also needs to check her attitude!

4.5 but rounding up to 5. Arrived ten minutes before opening on Saturday and was seated immediately upon opening (four people, no reservation).Service: 5/5. No complaints.Appetizers: 5/5. Crispy spring rolls and rice cake omelette were both excellent.Mains: 5/5. Grilled beef short rib, grilled chicken skewers, beef pho, and grilled chicken banh mi. Would order them all again.Cocktails: 5.5. Cold Smoke, Eastern Trader, and Man Man Sour. All excellent.Lost half a star because the Vietnamese iced coffee was a little watered down.Would definitely dine here again.

I've been wanting to try this place since I moved to the east coast. I've been finding it hard to find good Vietnamese food that isn't super expensive and this place is pretty good, a little more expensive than I'm used to. The Food/Drinks: Beef Pho: The way they make their pho is a little different than what I'm used to (not sure if it's north vs. south cuisine), the broth did not taste as flavorful as I'm used to and came with a kick (you'll see some chopped peppers in the pictures) that I did not add myself. It also had too many scallions for my liking. Cha Gio: The Cha Gio's were really good, fried to perfection and weren't greasy. Greens were fresh and crisp. Beef Vermicelli Bowl: also very good. Beef was not over cooked and well flavored. I'm not a drinker (I didn't order the drinks) so the drinks were on the strong side for me, but my friend seems to thoroughly enjoy them. The Environment:Super crowded on weekends. We did not have a reservation, but was able to get some seats at the bar within 20 minutes. Love the decor in the space, very tropical and lively.Overall, I'd recommend this place to a friend. I wouldn't necessarily go back to this spot if I was craving pho, but other Vietnamese dishes I would. Environment wise, it was a little too loud for my liking but it was as expected for a popular restaurant on the weekend.

Great spot of good food and comfortable atmosphere. Dishes we got was very flavorful with plenty of meat and vegetables. They also have small market inside for some food items.

I've passed by here daily on the way home but it's always so crowded. So I stopped by for lunch instead when it was empty. Love the set up and the decor/plants are so cute. Clean bathroom with the vacant style lock (yes, important to me). Hostess and waiter were both friendly, the food was amazing. It's 95 degrees so we wanted something light and refreshing.. noodle bowl was the perfect choice. Will definitely come back for lunch

The drinks here are really awesome and tbh they are really what I'd come back for. While the pho was good, it was just pricey. I suppose this is to be expected for a trendy restaurant but the pho didn't blow me away so $17 felt a little much. If you do get the pho, get the chicken pho. :)

I had the pork banh mi and I was disappointed by how hard the bread was. It was half the width of a normal baguette and it was hardly filled. It was such a let down from all the reviews about Di An Di.
