Excellent!
Excellent food in a fun old house. We dined on the porch — catch of the day followed by a delicious pound cake dessert. Unique and very fine cocktails. Great service with Eric. Kinda pricey but worth it! Recommend!
Be the first to ReplyGreat little restaurant near the shopping district
In a charming little house near king street. Great oysters, lobster bisque, ceaser with blackened shrimp. Best meal of our trip.
Be the first to ReplyNot worth the pricing
Went in for a Family dinner. Loved the decor and set up. Food was below average for the pricing. We had oysters which were decent, lobster bisque (bland), grouper (had little flavor and the field peas were undercooked), hush puppies (fantastic), lobster roll (very good), steak (mediocre), blue crab rice (crunchy and not very flavorful. Very little crab meat), tuna (good). You’re paying for the ambiance not the food.

Great service, but the lobster roll was such a disappointment. I usually haven’t met one I didn’t like, but for $34 I was most unimpressed.

5 stars, from the staff to the hush puppies, crab rice. Fried flounder, the oysters are phenomenal ? Our server Danial was fantastic.

Don’t tell anyone! Already known to those in the know. Reviewed as one of the top restaurants in Charleston. Ambiance, service, and food top notch. Loved fish of the day, shrimp, salad with tomatoes and melon and of course, the oysters. Happy hour martinis and wine just a plus. Thank you!
Be the first to ReplyOutside dinner was fine
We ate outside as the dining room was full on a Friday night. The fans kept it cool enough. We enjoyed a fish dish and a BIG salad. It was a lovely experience.
Be the first to ReplyGreat place with awesome bartender
Our BnB was only 2 blocks from this charming little restaurant. We had the oysters which were great. My husband loves octopus and was delighted with the Spanish octopus appetizer. The bartender talked me into a Rice Vodka for my Martini. The shattered dirty martini was the best I’ve ever had.

Incredible service, phenomenal food. Highly recommend the caviar and raw and roasted oysters. And we sat at the bar and the service was over the top. A little on the pricey side, but well worth the money.

We were there for Sunday lunch and had a very nice meal. We started with their house Negroni which was a very nice riff on the traditional version. We also had a delicious “Pimmin’ Aint Easy #2”. For food we shared the very good (but unfortunately small) clam chowder. We also had the “Spicy Shrimp Ajillo”, which was very heavy on the garlic and just the way I like it. We rounded out our meal with a very tasty Yellowfin Tuna Bahn Mi. We enjoyed everything and I would happily return.

This restaurant was directly beside our hotel and very convenient. Service was great! We sat outside on the balcony. We don’t eat oysters but those seated around us seemed to enjoy them. My husband said the fish and chips was the best he’s ever had! The fish was amazing!
Be the first to ReplyNot really “awesome”
My husband enjoyed his oysters, but the fish I had was very uninspired…to the point of being insipid. Our waitress was pleasant, but needs to expand her vocabulary beyond “awesome”, the word she used to describe the wine, the meals, the table at which we sat, that we were from out of town, EVERYTHING.

This place rocks! From the cocktails to the service to the food. It’s all top notch. Highly recommend eating here on your next visit to Charleston. You will not be disappointed. Be sure to order the Spanish Octopus and the Oysters Delaney! Cheers!

Spent a week in Charleston and ate at several restaurants - this was hands down the best. Great service and great food. Strongly recommend the octopus, cheddar bay hush puppies, clam chowder, spicy shrimp ajillo, and bread pudding.
Be the first to ReplyLovely, accommodating restaurant with strong food and beverage
We were staying at the adjacent Hotel Bella Grace with a 9 month old grandaughter. I went over in mid-afternoon (when the restaurant was closed) to try to make early dining arrangements for later that evening. One of the chefs came out of the kitchen and found a manager who got us all set up - an example of exceptional customer service. Happy hour and dinner were excellent, cordial and tasty. Highly recommended.

What a beautiful restaurant in the heart of Charleston! Highly recommend the tranquility to drink and the snapper ceviche, grilled oysters, and Nashville hot calamari to eat!

Faboulous meal with great staff and menu. Not the cheapest but when it is this good we didn’t mind paying a little extra. Each course was delicious and would definitely recommend.

9.6/10 One of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at! The chef creates masterful flavor combinations in every dish - from appetizer on we were thoroughly impressed with every bite! Super knowledgeable wait staff that we were able to lean on in a "what should we get" kind of way and it turned out phenomenal! I mean a seafood empanada that is to die for!
Be the first to ReplyNot for everyone
The appetizers were great. The mains were not. $100 meal and a trip to fast food by the hotel get enough to eat. Costly places usually do not have american size portions and I was really hungry. The wait staff was really good. There are much better food options around for me. For the money there should have been better Quality control of the food coming out of the kitchen on the means that we had to send one back. Over salted.

Had Oyster with peach plus 2 low country oysters, 2 sb oysters, blue crab rice, 2 orders of Cheddar Bay Hush puppies with onion butter (1 was not enough), Firecracker Calamri and Flan de Abuela. Love each and ever Bite! The BEST food I have had in a long while! Thank you CHEFS! Love number 11 server! Sorry I forgot his name. Definitely MUST GO when coming to Charleston SC!

Enjoyed eating here. Food and service were good. Ate on the 2nd floor porch which was a great atmosphere. Portions were small and price was a little high.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing
Although I had high hopes for this restaurant, it didn’t come through. Although we had reservations, it took 25 min to be seated. We ate in a second floor room, about 15 feet by 15 feet, which was most likely a bedroom back in the day. The kind of eating room that one would associate with a subdued, relaxing, atmosphere. But, it was actually extremely noisy as waitstaff trudged in, one after the other, or in groups to use the computer entry system located in this room, and to noisily retrieve glasses, silverware, etc, from the cabinets. There were staff members running up and down the wooden stairs in the adjacent hallway, and crashes of trays being dropped. It was a veritable cacophony all through the meal, and all very unprofessional.
The food had odd flavors. The strawberry, arugula salad was excellent. But, the chowder had too much cayenne pepper and lemon; the hush puppies had a very strange and unpleasant flavor; and the mahi-mahi was fishy and bland accompanied by some broccolini with large tough stems and an inexplicable bunch of cold pickled cauliflower mixed in.
Overall, I don’t understand the great reviews on this site.

Nice little place, close to Hilton property and recommended by concierge as one of three close-by venues. Outdoor seating was fine. Can't address their main entrees because my wife and I were only looking for a drink and appetizers. We ordered Sangria, Brussel sprouts, and fried calamari. Brussel sprouts were uniquely prepared and fantastic. Samgria was so-so, seeming to have not much wine, heavier on the soda. We often order calamari as an appetizer in restaurants, and this ranks with the worst we have had... rubbery, and overly hard and crunchy on the outside...should have complained and sent it back, but we didn't. Would consider returning to try main entrees, but would not reorder Sangria or calamari.
