This place was recommended to my wife and I by friends of ours prior to visiting. To say the least, it DELIVERED!!! With that being said, here’s a breakdown of our visit. First and foremost, we had a great waitress, Ms. Coreyelle. Being new to the restaurant, she offered great recommendations which we ended up going with for our meals which are listed below. Appetizer - Bacon Wrapped Shrimp (sounds weird by trust me) My Wife’s Meal - Boil Flatbread (she throughly enjoyed) My Meal - BBQ Pasta (sub shrimp for chicken: throughly enjoyed) Overall, this is a “must stop” for good Nawlin’s style eating…

Fish camp type atmosphere. Staff very friendly. We got the half fried seafood to share. We took half of it home! Very delicious and plentiful . They sure know how to fry oysters! For an appetizer they bring out a small bowl of steamed red potatoes and butter. Oh my gosh! They were delicious! They have a full bar with interesting selections, but we got sweet tea. Very delicious looking desserts, but we were too full. I would definitely go back!

We were here in New Orleans for spring break vacation, and Deanies seafood for dinner, the food was delicious, the service was excellent, the atmosphere itself clean very pleasing, would definitely return again.

Not the best experience with the food or the people. Had a couple of appetizers and a dinner with with some drinks...and that are many better places.

We were at the Magazine Street Location. We got the seafood/fish platter for two. It was very good and the service was great. Traci was a wonderful waitress and help us with information on where to go in New Orleans.
Be the first to ReplyHappy hour made us so happy!
We decided on an early dinner and was pleasantly surprised at the happy hour offerings. We got the BBQ shrimp with crusty bread for dipping, shrimp and crab dip, onion rings, and a side salad. I took advantage of the 1/2 price wine by the glass and had two glasses of Prosecco. It was an abundant feast, too much for two, would have fed 3-4. With tip, it was under $70. We were seated quickly and the waitstaff was excellent. I highly recommend Deanie’s!

We went with a senior citizen group though a Collette tour. This place was recommended. We had about 20 something people. No reservations but they seated us within 10 minutes!!! Many of us wanted separate checks which the super server was able to accommodate. Go there with a huge appetite ! The portions are mamouth. Prices reasonable for what you get. Plan to share. All types of NOLA seafood. Served hot. Great sides. Super desserts but you don't have room for them! Nice place. Spacious. Our server was amazing handling all of us...and being accurate with the checks.

Every time we visit New Orleans we save a night for Deanie’s. The oysters are fresh and well prepared. The waitresses are efficient and sometimes irreverent in commenting on customers. Everything first class and highly enjoyable.

Very friendly staff. Great for families. Nice decor. Good food. Fish of the day is always very good as are oysters. The ice cream however was not to our taste. We went twice with great pleasure.

This is a great New Orleans experience. I had the redfish and charbroiled oysters and they were amazing. The staff was nice and the atmosphere was perfect. Great place to go and eat.

Highly recommend! Despite trying to get in our first night, we went back again. Claire from the visitors centre recommended so we thought we'd give it a try. We gave our name with the front, wandered around, came back and got a table. The boiled potatoes they brought out while waiting for our food were absolutely delicious! Tried the bbq shrimp after a recommendation from our swamp tour captain. Delicious! The chargrilled oysters were incredible. Tried all kinds while in NO but these were by far the best! We sampled a variety of seafood, all wee cooked perfectly. Great atmosphere, lots of families. Would definitely go back!

The boiled crawfish was good. The shell of bbq shrimp was not easy to peel. The Chicken Sausage Gumbo is decent, too. Had to wait 40 mins starting @ 19:00.

We ate at Deanie's on our last night in New Orleans. We were seated quickly as we seemed to time it perfectly. They bring you boiled potatoes when you arrive, they are amazing! They are seasoned perfectly with Old Bay, delicious. It has a diner style atmosphere, the tables are not too close together so you do not feel crowded. I ordered the Shrimp Po Boy and Crawfish ball. My aunt orders stuff shrimp. The food is plentiful and delicious, great experience.

We went for the crawfish and weren’t disappointed. The atmosphere was very good and the service was decent. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking to do a crawfish boil while in NOLA.

So much better than trip advisors ‘top rated’ testaurants. This is the real thing. Redfish with crayfish étouffée, gumbo to die for, and barbecue shrimp out of this world. Skip the others and come here.

I will start by saying that I can't eat seafood--not any of it. But Deanie's came highly recommended by two different Uber drivers, so we knew we had to go. The atmosphere is fun--it has a casual, but upscale vibe. Our server was outgoing and fun to chat with. My co-worker and I shared the artichoke hearts appetizer and I'd go back to Deanie's again just for those. They melted in your mouth and were just spectacular. The drink menu was very diverse and full of fun cocktails to choose from. Because I don't eat seafood, I ordered the filet for dinner and it was perfectly cooked with not a single bit of fat on it and it was very flavorful. My only disappointment was that the only potato that you can get at Deanie's to accompany the filet was French fries. My coworker had the seafood pizza and she said it was one of the best things she'd ever eaten. We both watched in awe at the plates coming out to diners around us that were piled 8" high with fried seafood--that is not an exaggeration. Overall, this is now in my top 5 list in terms of French Quarter restaurants. From the service to the food, everything was just about perfect.

I go to this restaurant every time in New Orleans and it never disappoints. Seriously. Get the BBQ shrimp!

The catfish here is so good. My hubby had the shrimp po boy and I had the catfish. However, my husband also had the chicken Andouille Gumbo and it was good as well. The fries were cold but that's ok. The drinks were a good size for the money. But the best part was our server. I believe his name was Cory. I had a good size margarita so I cannot be certain of his name. But I am certain that he was an exceptional young man with a good head on his shoulders.
