Crow's Nest Anchorage Reviews from The Last Year
Stephen at the tourist information center recommended The
Stephen at the tourist information center recommended The Crow's Nest as a relaxing place with great food and an amazing view of Anchorage. He was not wrong! We sat in the bar area with views of the downtown area on one side and water views on the otherside. We opted for the burger with housemade chips and it was delicious. For dessert we had mint ice cream that tasted exactly like fresh mint from the garden and the warm donuts (beignets) that were filled will lemon curd (and were just ok). Ashley provided outstanding service with a smile and kind word - even though every table was full and she was running to keep up. She is a true gem! I would love to come back and try other items off the delicious looking menu and enjoy the majestic views and elegant atmosphere.
Lovely view, great local food, and friendly staff.
On a recent trip to Anchorage I stayed at the Hotel Cap Cook and decided to treat myself to a special dinner. Dre greeted me and showed me to my seat with friendly conversation. Emma and Roberto provided excellent service. Emma was super knowledgeable about the menu and provided helpful guidance. The atmosphere was lovely and food delicious. Not pictured was the Banana Split, because I got that to go and enjoy in my room.
The view is amazing.
I got the rib eye, rare. It was flavored perfect, but was cooked more medium to medium rare. What makes this place stand out is the view. So come before the sunset to enjoy the view, you'll love it!
This was a great dinner night spot.
Located in the Captain Cook Hotel, this restaurant is one of my favorites in Alaska , serving quality food, drinks, and excellent service. The views here are spectacular and it doesn't cost extra to sit next to a window. The crab bisque was a great choice for an appetizer, it had great flavor too. Our entrees for the evening were the filet mignon and prime ribeye. The filet mignon came cut in slices, which was a surprise, but it cooked to perfection and had a great sauce to pair with it! The shoestrings fries were its pair, although I wish it was a better side dish. The prime ribeye was also tasty, the sides were fine, nothing memorable. The dessert was a brownie paired with a toffee popcorn and it was good! Overall, I would come back here for a nice evening again.

Alaska was showing off, the sun was out and we had the perfect window seat to capture the sunset. The entire staff is incredibly customer focused. They are attentive and desire for you to have a memorable experience. Ordered the oysters as an appetizer along with the lobster appetizer. Moved to a soup course which was absolutely delicious! Who knew roasted cauliflower soup with pickled florets and hazelnuts would taste so incredible. Main course was a generous serving of scallops. Cooked perfectly. Finished off with a delicious dessert. If you are in Anchorage, AK, I would highly recommend the Crows Nest.
Wonderful Evening!!
A wonderful evening at this great restaurant! Our food was delicious , enhanced by our server Chelsea! She was excellent …gave great descriptions of all dishes! Oysters were delicious, as was the Crab Bisque. The rib eye was also tender and tasty! Dessert was the apple tart….yummy….but…would have been better warm! We were seated on the west side of the restaurant and had a great view of a wonderful sunset! This is a “must visit” restaurant if you are in Anchorage!
Amazing in every category.
Definitely the best crab legs in Anchorage. Logan was a very professional and educated server.

The food was fabulous with terrific service and the view of downtown was amazing. Watching the moon rise was the best.
We've been back to Crow's Nest a few more times since I
We've been back to Crow's Nest a few more times since I wrote my original review last year, so I think it's time to update it. That fifth star is well deserved, that's for sure! I always recommend reservations, just to be on the safe side! The service is fabulous, I don't find anyone even the slightest bit pretentious and they're so kind and attentive. We joked about having our usual table and really love the location in the southeast corner. I wish there was a lamb dish back if the menu, because it was amazing before, but they've taken it off. Fried olives and cheese plates for appetizers, cocktails, Ribeyes, scallops, strip steaks, all amazing! While I was disappointed they took the carrot cake off the dessert menu, the options were still fantastic! Another knock it out of the park dinner last night!!!
View Nirvana
Foremost, you canNOT get over that 360 view. While you try, please treat yourself to their fried, goat cheese-filled, Castelvetrano olives. They are life affirming❣️ Drink prices are quite reasonable. They take reservations but they keep a sweet space for walk ins as well. I look forward to returning there for sunset views over Cook Inlet. Wow.
Amazing views, excellent food and top notch service.
It's by far my favorite restaurant in Anchorage if not Alaska. If you haven't been to this place, you are definitely missing out.
The Crow's Nest is an Anchorage classic and while I used to
The Crow's Nest is an Anchorage classic and while I used to think it sat in the 4/5 star range, recent menu overhauls have moved it into the 4.5-5/5 star range for me for sure. To start with, the Captain Cook is beautifully decorated at the holidays and that extends to the Crow's Nest as well. The views from all tables are exquisite, showing off different parts of Anchorage. The service team is incredible, promptly bringing out drinks and ensuring waters are full. For a cocktail, I had a thyme bourbon sour, which was quite good albeit a bit too sweet for me. I had the crab bisque for a starter, which is a timeless classic and always hits the spot. For a main, I had their new duck leg, which was deliciously cooked and fell off the bone. The vegetables accompanying the duck were also wonderful. We were too stuffed by the end of dinner to have dessert but I suppose that's just an excuse to come back. Overall, the Crow's Nest is a perfect place for a fancy dinner in Anchorage.
Horrible waitress with accountability issues
The waitress decided to NOT put my whole order in and then blame me for it. I asked for risotto to start and scallops as an entree. she told me ordering was done in 20 minutes so I put in my dinner entree with my app she decided on her own I didn't want my app because I put them in together. I left hungry and went to humpys for a real meal, this place is over rated because of the crappy view.
Dont bother
oysters were fine… Their sorbet accompaniment was really trying too hard. They were not as cold as they should have been presented either. The salt brine had been poured off on most, as well, so don’t bother. we ordered a traditional set up… It did not come that way, and then had to ask again. Don’t bother with the crab legs they’re overrated and not presented that well. literary dry on top when presented. Barely warm. $125/pound, I think? when we are literally 500 yards from where they should’ve been caught? The scallops were overcooked. We sent them back. They literally were chewy. The first and second bite flavors were not even worth describing. They went back before I could taste anymore. I needed a knife to saw through them. Everything took forever to receive. Last drink was completely incorrect. One staff member to serve the entire bar serving area. yes, I think some runners helped. Yes the summer leader was in a couple of times. I had the wine last next to me for over an hour. No one stopped in to even discuss it with me. Servers fake smile didn’t work…The insincerity didn’t work…. She acted annoyed when she was trying to make it, right… And her insincerity just did not sit well. drinks overrated. Price point too much. Overly sweet. The smoky old-fashioned was literally a bust. When I asked about it, she told me they are too busy to do a true smoky old-fashioned with the clioche. Really? then don’t present it that way! The risotto is overpriced. set another warm or a bit too long. Fancy macaroni and cheese anyone? The truffles were good…but $60+ on the one size fits all risotto otherwise? did not bother with dessert. They asked if they could replace things but the timing is so off not worth it. you would think at this point we would have seen a manager…we have not had anyone stop by and check… if you was nice though. kudos for that- check was presented at the end… They didn’t even bother to give us a pen ? Sigh
mahmoud salah al din assaf loves The Crows Nest
The crab legs melt in your mouth. You can savor ever bite. Dam they are so good. Service was very good.
Not worth the hype
Had high expectations after reading reviews. Food was just average, service from waiter was substandard (he actually chided us to wait for him to return to fill our wine glass so he could first prepare our check😳) The view was the best thing about this restaurant.
Overrated food, good service.
Nice dining room, good view. Decor is tired and worn, just like the hotel it sits on top of. Table cloth was more like a bed spread. Friendly server, never checked on us again after the food came out. After we ate and didn’t want any desserts she dropped off a check and disappeared again, good thing we were paying cash and didn’t need change. Salmon was ordered medium rare and was served over-cooked and the plate was missing the baby artichokes listed on the menu. Lobster creudo and king crab were good. Overall, I was very under-whelmed - disappointing because restaurant has a good reputation and it was just ok.
Wonderful
We were celebrating our wedding anniversary after completing a land-cruise tour to Alaska. Our server was Chelsey and her assistant was Rafael. Our table was in a corner overlooking the Anchorage skyline and harbor. We started with perfect cocktails followed by my wife’s selection of the lobster crudo and I with succulent oysters. Absolutely delicious. My wife followed with the Alaskan black cod and I with the halibut. Both were fork tender and delicious. Then they presented our flourless chocolate desert with the plate commemorating our wedding anniversary. A very memorable meal both as to food quality and service.
Likely worth a visit when the sun's out
After reading many reviews, we decided to splurge on a dinner at the Crow's Nest while in Anchorage. Unfortunately, the evening of our reservation was quite overcast, so the view was underwhelming. That said, the service was impeccable and the food was generally tasty, if on the high side. After the complimentary amuse bouche, we decided to share a Caesar Salad (baby romaine, pecorino romano, crostini, black garlic Caesar dressing), which was smaller than expected, but did go nicely with the complimentary rolls, and two entrees: the King Crab Legs (one pound with lemon and drawn butter), which could have been plated in a more appealing manner, and the Salmon (babaghanoush, baby artichoke, wild mushrooms, Israeli couscous), which had a lovely crispy skin. For the price, it would've been nice if the non-protein ingredients were more plentiful. We finished the mean with the complimentary dark chocolates and jellies.
Prix Fixe with Pairing
Found a few seats at the bar, views were great. Had the bone marrow, charcuterie, halibut, and some dessert brandy. Spoke with both Sommeliers on the team, they both were helpful in finding a some wine that matched my guest and I's preferences. Evelyn (sp**) was outstanding.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!

So glad I came across this app :)

perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil

Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
