Wonderful and authentic New Mexico neighborhood restaurant
Stumbled upon this โNew Mexico cuisineโ on my way back to the hotel, so having grown up and continued to spend a lot of time in the Land of Enchantment, I stopped. Thank goodness I did, because the food (tender ribeye tacos on wonderful corn tortillas, perfectly seasoned frijoles, guacamole, salsa) was authentic and very, very good. I highly recommend this place for an authentic neighborhood restaurant with more locals than tourists.
Be the first to ReplyThe real, casual NM deal!
Tucked in a modest neighborhood near the historic area, this is one of the most authentic eateries that Iโve yet discovered in NM. In addition to offering the more expected, almost โtex-mexโ (for the less adventurous), they also offer delicious, fresh, slow cooked gastronomical feasts. It has a light contemporary atmosphere, big windows, concrete floor, no frills, basic and really good. Very casual, family friendly and reasonably priced. I think i was the only tourist in the place. (Beware of the spice in the chile dishes & soups, if you are sensitive .) And just when I thought it could not get better, my waiter offered me fresh sopapilla with honey! It just donโt think you can beat this. Thank you. I hope I get an opportunity to return.

This restaurant is located close to Old Town Albuquerque. It is a relaxed, casual, bright and relative large place. We had the shrimp taco bowl and a beef brisket quesadilla along with 2 margaritas. All were excellent. The shrimp were plentiful and plump, the beans tasty and the bowl itself was good. The quesadilla was also good with ample well cooked brisket and cheese. All the side condiments were also better than most places. Our server was very personable and helpful and provided a few side samples without us asking, so we could make up our minds. Overall this was one of the better Mexican meals weโve had on our trip so far. It was good value for the quality and portion sizes along with the service and ambiance. We left full but contented and would easily return.

Be the first to ReplyBusy and delicious
We had a wonderful small lunch here during a Balloon Fiesta weekend. It was very busy, but we were offered a table in a matter of minutes. We had tacos to share and they were delicious. Service was attentive and kind during a busy time (thanks, Luis).
Be the first to ReplyThe creamy chicken enchilada had a lot of heat. Grilled chickens were good too and plentiful.
Small, quaint place. Line was out the door so you knew it was good. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food was very good and a good value.

Fantastic place. Great atmosphere and amazing food. The salsa had the perfect amount of spice, and the brisket tacos were out of this world.

We visited on a busy Friday night. Incredible food and attentive service even though they were slammed. Absolutely worth the trip!
Be the first to ReplyHot chile!
Good hot Chile! Started with a local draft beer and Pepsi. Get the bottomless chips and salsa with a great green chile salsa and a hot red Chile salsa with cilantro. The carne was plump and moist and enough for 2. The combo plate featured a relleno, brisket taco, brisket enchilada and tamale. No cheese on the taco. Garden greens for the garnish. The waiter was prompt and polite. A good chile fix for red and green lovers.

Great dinner! We had tacos, nachos and drinks. Margarita was really good. Street tacos were also delicious. Salsa had some definite kick to it but the green Chile salsa was also very good. Would definitely recommend

Sooooo good! We love Alfredo! He's the best waiter. Amazing food and service. We had 7 or so different things over the different visits. Each item was super. We had burritos, quesadillas, enchiladas.. the sopapillas were amazing. I don't eat fried food and at sopapillas two days in a row. A great family dinner.. two days in a row.

Terrific food in a casual setting. We went for lunch, and I had the creamy chicken enchiladas, such good comfort food! My husband had chile relleno with chicken, and he said it was delicious. We also got sopapillas, which were amazing! Very friendly staff.

Visiting Albuquerque and had a local take me here for lunch. What a treat! The chips were very fresh and lightly dusted with chili powder. There were two salsas, a red and green and both were SPICY! I'm still adjusting to authentic New Mexican spices. Ordered the combination plate for a taste of everything and it was a great choice. The brisket was tender, well seasoned and absolutely amazing! The chili stuffed with cheese and dipped in batter was delicious. Just the right amount of spicy and the chili was super tender. The tamale was really dry, and I'm glad I got it on a combo plate because I'd have been really disappointed if they were the entire meal. Portions were generous, service was good and the staff was friendly. Three people for lunch and the bill was $60 but the portion size justifies the price. I'll definitely be back!!

We had breakfast here and it was great! Traditional New Mexican food. Large servings; enough to share!.Come early as it gets busy.
Be the first to ReplyThe mother of all the worst service
I never experience such of worst service in my life with my brother, started with a mean attitude with this waiter who never had a pleasant way of taking the order, always late with the refills and never came back asking if everything was ok, also when I went to the counter asking for a refill the little waiter said: go back and the then you will get your refill, after that I realized every table had salsa and chips so I order salsa and chips which it s free but we were charged. The food was good but the service was awful.
Be the first to ReplyGood food and bad service
The food was good bad the service from this Mexican Man was awful plus he charged us for Salsa and Chip and never we were charged so I ended up thinking this man was racist.

Asked for a table out of the wind when the door was opened, was told no. Was set in the corner of an empty romn, which was much colder then the main roon. When our drinks were brought, the waiter spilled coffee on the table, he didn't bother to wipe it up, or even say sorry, he seemed to have a real attitude. Was short, curt, and rude when he took our order. When he brought the food he just kinda dropped the plates on the table, and again very rude. The food was cold at best, I didn't even eat it, and wife ate about 4 bites of her pancakes and left the rest. The waiter never returned to the table, no cofee refills, not to check if we wanted anything else, didn't even bring us our check. After waiting a considerable amount of time I went to the cash register and asked for the bill. Terrible service, terrible food, and high prices, your better off going to Taco Bell.

Loved it! The Kristinaโs creamy green chili chicken soup is the best. Spicy.. but really good. The fried bread is amazing. I hardly give reviews.. so for me to give a review, trust me thatโs bc it is absolutely good eating.
Be the first to ReplyVariable Local Quality
We have eaten here a few times now and the experience seems to vary. Sometimes the food is exceptional New Mexican cuisine and others it seems rather bland and quite average. Service is generally indifferent. Dining room is clean and well lit which is nice, but lacks the homeyness other local haunts. There's really nothing wrong with this place, but there are too many great New Mexican restaurants in the area where the food is spot on every time for is to keep this on the local visit list.

Passing by traveling so we decided to stop by for lunch. Everyone loved their food. We got there after rush hour so it was quiet for us. Waiter was very nice and his recommendations were great. I definitely recommend this place.
Be the first to ReplySolid place for a family
We went on a Sunday evening. No wait. The staff is very friendly. Parking was good and very close. We were four people with normal meals and no alcohol and it was about $75 before tip. Fish tacos were good. Queso and chips was really good. Itโs right on the edge of a nice area. Some parts of Albuquerque are nice and some definitely are not. I donโt recommend walking here. I would probably eat here again.

Truly good and well prepared Mexican cuisine. Tacos all around the table. The service was great. Our waiter Luis explained what was good and was extremely friendly. He told us it is usually more crowded, but it was full as it was. Highly recommended
