The service/staff/bar team are the gems of this place.
They are so attentive, kind, and prompt. It was a nice compliment to the NYSCI event I attended. It's a beautiful venue with towering ceilings and massive pillars. Very grand indeed. It's nice they offer vegan options too! A nice mushroom vegan lasagna and a fruit platter for dessert. One day I want to celebrate something in such a grand venue. A girl can dream right :)

The room is beautiful. The steak is great. The staff is often very receptive.

Came here for an award reception and was blown away by the ambiance. The details are perfection. The staff was highly attentive. Cocktail hour was the best part of the night. For food there was chicken, rice balls, scallops and more. My favorite drink was the peach Bellini. The food for dinner was only okay. The steak option was significantly better than the fish. Overall everything was amazing except the dinner food. Would love to attend an event here again.

Need to provide valet parking as does the other Cipriani

TL;DR: A tad bit elitist in terms of service, but the food is a solid 8/10. Sure, the prices are a bit steep (nothing out of this world), but the freshness of the produce makes this place noticeable. We got the chicken croquettes, minestrone soup, and gnocchi. Everything was pronounced - the taste ranged from good to excellent. This place is under selling the gnocchi; it's one of the best I've had in the city. It's like a pillow with cheese that melts in your mouth. The croquettes were also pretty good - very freshly made and elegant (didn't feel like a bar snack). The cake was also pretty good! You could taste the crunchy sugar between the layers. Will be headed back anytime on Wall St. Try and get the balcony view of the NYSE if you go in the summertime.

Expected a nice dinner with great service and food and found the exact opposite. The staff seemed to see you as "how much money they can get out of you" and the food was average. Was it yummy? Yes, but for $30+ for an oily pasta I could make at home -- not worth it. I almost felt I was stepping back in time, but not in the romanized way - more in the classist shite way. Really wish I could have said I enjoyed this experience, but everything about this place from the interior design, staff, food, quality, even restrooms were very much sub par. Will not be returning
Be the first to ReplyCame here for a holiday work party with my former boyfriend.
I had the salmon and the ambiance definitely lived up to the hype. Staff was friendly. I'd only previously been here for an event pre-pandemic. My guest enjoyed it and the best part was we didn't have to pay for it. If you're trying to impress someone, this is definitely the place for that though you'd probably enjoy it more if you're not going for a business function.

As someone that lived in Italy for over a decade I went with very high expectations. I was expecting to me amazed by every single aspect of this dinner considering the reputation of Cipriani. However, it was very mediocre. The bolognese pasta was tasty but nothing special. The fish that was presented with white rice lacked flavor and the mozzarella di Buffalo was disappointing.(I do understand that these cheeses are hard to replicate in the U.S but I had much better in NY). I did appreciate the service and the Bellini but would I go back? Maybe, but it is not gonna be my first choice.

I had pretty high expectations for this restaurant and was honestly a bit disappointed. Though I will say the service here was FANTASTIC. Everyone was so attentive and the doorman was exceptionally wonderful and great to interact with. The food was okay and didn't really stand out at all-- honestly I would not come here again for the food lol but more for the restaurant's reputation. Their famous cake at the end also looked so deflated and meek in size compared to normal. Would definitely come here more for the ~vibes~ and upscale feeling but less for the food
Be the first to ReplyFirst I'd like to say the Mr.
C cocktail, vitello tonnato, and the waygu steak are DELICIOUS and definitely stand out options. I've been craving them since we dined there about a month ago. This review is not based on the meal because in my opinion when I go to eat at any "fine dining" restaurant the most basic expectation is that the food will be good. This review will solely be focused on service/professionalism. The reviews about being rushed out and them carrying around an elitist/classist culture amongst their staff is true. I'd like to add that they don't try to make it any less obvious either. We were called several times to see if we'd be making dinner and my fiancé specifically said yes and we're celebrating our 7 year anniversary. We were taken to our table and almost just as quickly as we were sat down, they asked for our drink order. Soon after we placed our drink order we were asked for our app and entree and dessert. This was the dialogue that we had with the waiter the entire evening "What would you like?" "Hey could you give us a few minutes? We're still looking at the menu."*1 minute later* The waiter is asking againNow some may think that's just how they are with everyone. But the service received by the table next to us of two young men and a table of one behind us was incredible, timed out properly, and exactly what you'd expect. We were in and out the door in an hour and 15 minutes- that includes 2 rounds of drinks, entrees, and dessert. While the other nearby tables entered before we did and were still enjoying their meals after we had paid our bill..... We of course still tipped 20% though it definitely was not deserved, but they're working through a pandemic and I respect that as a person, but also as a nurse. My fiancé spoke to the managers after our meal and they offered us ice cream and another cocktail, we took a rain check as we were already out the door. We didn't want free food or drinks, more than anything we wanted to celebrate a happy moment and have good food with great service. After all, you'll return for great service (even if the food is subpar). We literally live a block away, and this is specifically in regards to their restaurant staff because they have the most sweet, kind, and RESPECTFUL doormen ever (Ryan is amazing)!!! They always make the effort to say hi and start conversation which is so refreshing especially in our neighborhood. Overall we will be back because those cocktails, veal, and steak have been on my mind. Hoping this was a flop and next time will be better. Stay tuned.

birthplace of the bellini!! went here for my anniversary with my bf since we live right next door and it was a weekday. Beat service i've ever received dining out and the absolute best drinks.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely divine! Everything and everyone was stellar.
I enjoyed the artichoke appetizer the most. Along with the signature homemade ice cream to die for which goes so well with the chocolate cake. I rolled out of Cipriani. Thank you Stephanie and Jake for your warm and friendly attention to every detail of our dining experience. Cipriani is fortunate to have such exemplary staff.

I came here solo to celebrate a news and I always wanted to come here. So this review is from that perspective. I came here on a Monday evening around 8:15pm after reservation. After I arrived, I waited for five minutes before someone acknowledged me and another five minutes for the table where the person who sat me called me by my first name.Among all the seats, I was seated next to the water station in a dark corner where I witnessed a breakup. I get bad for the gal since I surely been there myself. The waiters are all attentive. The tall handsome manager invited me to sit at the front so I can see all and I got moved. Actually I realized that space was needed to make space for a group of 8 people and I give the manager credit for his suave diplomatic manner. So now I'm seated right at the center in a table to four. As a vegetarian I was suggested to get a salad and I prefer to order the pesto fusilli. It was very good coupled with Prosecco. For desert I got the meringue pie and waiters were already clearing my table. Also literally seconds after I finished the pie, I got the bill. Overall, the food is good and service was good.So now I can scratch this place out of my bucket list.

Absolutely stunning balcony that you've probably seen in a movie. The staff is great and very on top of it. Worth dining at once, though the food is very expensive for what it is. If you go to Cipriani, it'll be a memorable evening, though not because of the food itself. There is better Italian in the city.

Ugh! I'm a New Yorker of 40+ years and for many years, had wanted to go to Cipriani's for a special dinner. Attended a few events in the ballroom over the years, just never ate at the restaurant. So yesterday is my son's bday and he asks to eat at Cipriani's. Sadly, was not a memorable dining experience. I've been in the hospitality industry for years, so know a thing or two about what good service and good quality food is all about. Ive always had the view that you're only as strong as your weakest link and while service was decent, the quality of the food was so poor, that it just overshadowed everything else and was not reflective of what I expected from Cipriani's over the years. Appetizers were fine....nothing special. Artichokes were a disappointment in that they were mushy and tasteless, but the real disappointment came when dinner arrived. I watched my wife barely pick at her salmon and then looked over at my daughter's plate (also ordered the salmon) and saw that she put her fork down after 2 or 3 bites. My son and I got the Wagyu filet mignon, and I can tell you, this cut of filet was anything but Wagyu quality....tough and tasteless is how I would best describe it. Then my wife and daughter both say that their salmon is inedible, boring and dry...always thought it was tough to screw up salmon, but they did. Daughters boyfriend gets the pasta and its a serving of about 5-6 bites, so I share some of my steak w him...poor kid was starving and they give him a kid's sized plate of pasta. We then let our waiter know of our disappointment with the salmon (didn't want to bring up the poor quality of my steak or the measly portion of pasta) and they apologize and then proceed to give us a bowl of ice cream and a single piece of cake. While I appreciated the gesture, they should have comped us for the salmon or something more than a bowl of ice cream. Again, service was great, but the food quality overall was severely lacking, especially considering it was a $600+ meal.

It's pretty obvious that there is special treatment based on class. I thought we were over that these days. Service was lackluster, food was subpar and rushed. Not what I was expecting from this establishment.
