Cinque Archi Taormina Reviews from The Last Year
Unfortunately, this place missed the mark when it came to
Unfortunately, this place missed the mark when it came to Italian dishes for me. We came with a party of 4 and after spending over $450 for dinner, I felt unamused. The bruschetta and clams were our first appetizers and the bruschetta was more like a Crustini topped with alfredo sauce w/scallops. I didn't read the description on the menu which was my fault. I expected balsamic which this restaurant loves to use, by the way, but didn't have any on the bruschetta or any tomatoes. It was sloppy with a lot of alfredo sauce, spinach and scallops. Not what you expect for a bruschetta. The clams lacked butter and umami. Husband ordered from the full course menu and ordered the filet mignon as an option. His first course of squid ink pasta with shrimp was actually pretty descent. The filet mignon had no flavor and had drizzled balsamic surrounding it. For some reason, the server didn't ask him how he wanted his steak which was probably because it was the size of his big thumb. LOL. It was super rare when it came out and hubby hates rare. The random mushroom and veggies that came with the filet again had no salt on them. No flavor whatsoever. I had the Seafood Pescatore which was extremely fishy. I love seafood pasta but this was extraordinarily fishy which didn't sit right with me. The pasta was cooked al dente which was great but the clams in there had a few sand in there that I crunched into. Was unpleasant for sure. Other parties at our table had the duck and the risotto. The duck was surrounded with what seemed like oyster sauce and tasted like a Chinese dish. I didn't feel like it represented any Italian dish in any way. Unfortunately, this is not going to be one of the Italian restaurants we will be visiting again. (Especially in Waikiki).
One of worst dinners I've ever had, bland and no flavor.
I've ate all over Italy and some very, very good Italian restaurants in Seattle. This restaurant needs some new recipes!

My family and I have been coming to Taormina for years and it's our favorite Italian spot on island. We come for the incredible service and wonderful ambiance but stay for the delicious bolognese! It's unique with the secret ingredient of balsamic vinegar and is hands down one of my favorite meals. The wine list is impressive and you can't forget to end the night with their affogato and a Sambuca. Shoutout to Robert and the entire team for taking such good care of us! That's what true hospitality is all about.

What a treat! This place came recommended by a local - we're visiting from the San Francisco Bay Area. Dinner was on point, the drinks were great, and the service was elevated without being stuffy. Special thanks to Robert for helping guide us through a wonderful evening. Be prepared for a great evening if you're able to secure a table. Good luck!
I just don't understand how this restaurant got such good
I just don't understand how this restaurant got such good reviews. The food was below average at best. I ordered the breaded veal it had way too much cheese, and my mom and son ordered the bolognese and it just didn't have a good flavor at all. The service was good. Very nice and attentive. The ambiance was average. Overall I will not go back to this restaurant
Always stop here for dinner or lunch whenever in Waikiki.
Great food and service. The Bolognese is the best!

I'd only heard about this location until recently, and I'm glad that I was finally able to check it out in person. My better half and myself were seated right by the kitchen, and although it was a little hectic and noisy, it was fun to watch a working kitchen staff. Overall, the ambiance was to my liking, though it may not satisfy all. If you like a little more space and/or quiet, ask to be seated closer to the front of the establishment. The waitstaff all seemed to help one another and were very friendly and knowledgeable. Though our waitress forgot an item or two and we had to ask more than once for water, I didn't gig them too much on this front as they were exceptionally busy with a large party. As for the food.....I can not find a single thing to fault Chef Hiro or his staff on as every course was amazing. My better half and I split the clams, she had the squid ink pasta while I had the pescatore. I had a glass of the Sicilian Nero d'Avola and we split the chocolatecake with vanilla ice cream. It was the best tasing Italian food I've had ever since Serena's in Kaimuki closed. This is a must try for a date night or small gathering. I wouldn't recommend bringing the kids to this one, so save it for a romantic night out.

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
