Disappointing restaurant
The place is nice, the service is very good but the food left something to be desired. The starter of lobster, lamb chops, bacon was very good, then we ordered the ribe eye and it was huge but it didn't have much flavor and it was terrible for me, in general the food was not highly recommended for the price.

Lesson learned going here for our first time on Christmas Eve... but still, we expected more from this established restaurant. I don't understand the rationale behind 3 seatings, rather than scattered arrival reservations... it led to chaos at the front door. Although we requested a window table when making our reservation (" we can request that, but cannot guarantee"), and letting the hostess know we would happily wait for a window table when we arrived, we were brought to an interior table that was so packed in, several fellow diners, including all 4 of us, had to shift our chairs to make room for us even to sit down. In the 3 minutes we were sitting at that table, my daughter was bumped into no less than 5 times, my son and I had to shift our chairs at least twice to allow wait staff to pass through to other tables, and my husband had to sit so close to the table that he could not comfortably move his arms. We thought it strange, but we were delighted, when the hostess approached us and asked us to move to a different table (we were later told, it was because they needed to save that table to put next to the adjacent table for a large party arriving later ) ... she began leading us towards the windows where the were 2 vacant/ready 4 tops, and another vacant 4 top, waiting to be cleared. Unfortunately, she sat us at an interior 4 top, that had just slightly more room than the original. When we asked if we could sit at one of the vacant window tables instead, she said they were reserved for someone else, clearly more important than us ( disappointed again since we were told window tables are request only)... Although we enjoyed Nemo, and he was kind and understanding ... he, and much of the support staff, was clearly rushed. When delivering small plates for our appetizer, they were left in a pile of 4 on the corner of the table, with We refilled our own wine glasses throughout the evening. Nothing huge, but small service hiccups, all throughout the evening, just piled on the disappointment. The Nueske Bacon came with 4 pieces... 2 of the pieces were majority fat, completely inedible. When my husband's bone-in filet came out overdone, Nemo assured us a new one would be fired immediately. After the rest of us waited a few minutes for my husband to be reserved, we decided it best to go ahead and eat. We were just about finished when Nemo stopped by to say he was going to check on the re-fire... my husband told him to just cancel it since the rest of us were finished. About 10 minutes later, someone (assume a manager but he did not identify himself) brought my husband the re-fired filet... this person said he would not charge my husband for the steak, and asked my husband to cut it open to check the temperature.... it was raw in the middle... the manager quickly removed it. After an uncomfortable 15 mins with nobody coming to our table... the manager, Jason, finally came over, offered complimentary dessert... we accepted, asked for it "to-go", and asked for the check, eager to get out of there Our special evening was disappointing... all aspects including service, food and atmosphere... In their efforts to maximize revenue on this holiday, they definitely compromised their standards...

We were so disappointed. It was so crowded that you could hardly get up to go to the restroom. The staff was moving around frantically to set tables all around us. It was so distracting. The music playing was so loud and the room was so hot. Thanksgiving meal was way overpriced. We would not go back.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, poor โpaying serviceโ
Visited on 23/10/23. Had to wait 20 mins past our booking time for our table. The food was excellent though. Couldnโt fault it. The service was pretty good as well. However, when it came to paying the bill, I was very surprised that they didnโt accept Apple Pay. I had stopped taking my cards out with me because everywhere weโd been up to that point (and everywhere afterwards) accepted Apple Pay so it didnโt even occur to me that a business wouldnโt accept it. This then led to a slightly awkward situation whereby we had to leave my wifeโs phone with the waiter, walk back to our hotel room to get my cards and then return to the restaurant to pay the bill and get my wifeโs phone back. This somewhat marred our experience and is the reason this review lost 2 stars (along with the lateness of getting our table). However, if youโre aware of the โno Apple Payโ rule and thus come prepared, then Iโm sure youโll have a great time. ๐
Be the first to ReplyDelicious steak and amazing views!
Went with my husband to celebrate his birthday, since the moment we got there the staff was very nice, professional and knowledgeable. For appetizers we had the Lobstercargot, it was amazing! I love the fact that they divide the appetizer and how it was served. Our steak was delicious and our service Damaris was the best super nice and attentive. It is price but worth all the way.

Best steak he ever had said my husband! I am not a big beef fan, but since we were in Chicago, I had steak. I was more than pleased; my skirt steak was cooked to perfection! The portions are very generous. Both of us enjoyed leftovers for lunch. Our waiter, Greg, was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent place for special occasion
The service, food and ambiance were excellent. They offered to take a group picture. Gave us dessert when we said I was getting a special award from the state. Our steaks were very tasty. Dessert gelato was excellent. Salmon dish tasted great, as well.
Be the first to ReplySpend your day at the beach for the views and then bring your $200 bottle of classic wine to a reasonable place.
I have dined here when business associates are paying and it is a real treat with a GREAT view. But I booked my family there in August and got the message that we had to be done in two hours and could not bring our own wine. (Looking at something like a Peter Michael Les Pivots or La Mission Haut Brion). Two hours is a little tight but it is family and we could make that. So I checked the wine list. Any wine that you would really drink at this restaurant would cost $200 retail...otherwise you are just wasting your time. Well the $200 retail bottles are all priced at $600 or more. This makes going here a complete waste. I am not paying this so I have to order a bottle of wine that is poorly made and sells for $40 at retail just to control costs. I don't want to eat 1-star food with $40 wine. I am sure they don't need my business but the cheapest bottle is not getting a $75 mark-up. Why not set corkage at $75 to encourage superior bottles? Cancelled the reservation.

All I can say is WOW. We were in a large group and had a private room, which made it a very unique experience. Phenomenal starters, ridiculously-good steaks and the biggest cake desserts Iโve ever seen served in a restaurant. I had the Bone-In Filet (16 Oz) which was incredible. Some of the group had fish and veg options which looked and tasted amazing. Service was world class - the two head waiters were the loudest and most entertaining I've ever experienced, recommending the best dishes and keeping the wine flowing all evening. Would defo go back here and highly recommended to all steak lovers - this is going to be pretty hard to beat!

Had dinner at the Chicago Cut, staff are amazing and obviously are well trained. The table was perfectly positioned outside facing the river and offered a very pleasant back drop. The food was pricey but cooked to perfection and very enjoyable. Lovely spot

Amazing location, amazing food, amazing service and amazing views. I was very impressed with the attention to detail at every corner.
Be the first to ReplyLeft a $75 steak
Went to Chicago Cut for a New Years Eve Dinner. The Chicago River and the view from the restaurant are beautiful. We each ordered a strip steak which costs $76 per steak. I am not a fussy eater but I took 3 bites of the steak and stopped it was tough but worse it was flavorless. After the first bite I added salt and it was still flavorless. When the manager asked how the dinner was we told him our assessment of the steak and he barely addressed it our concern at all. It was New Years eve and we didn't want to make fuss so I waited until the next day and contacted them via email. I never got a response and it's been 7 days. When you eat 3 bits of a $76 steak and don't take a doggy bag home you know it has not been a good experience. Try Babette's-it's yummy.

This was an incredible experience. The food and service were outstanding. The bone in rib-eye was the best steak Iโve ever eaten. Got it medium rare plus. So tender and tasty. Highly recommend this experience.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing food and service
We were there for thanksgiving and we could not have a better experience! The meat was excepcional! The risotto as well! and the deserts were to die for! Service was perfect! From the time we arrived till the time we left!
Be the first to Replynot worth price
We went to this restaurant with high hopes of the best steak ever.Unfortunately this did not happen. Service ,presentation all good, however the steak was totally uninspiring. When you pay extremely high prices you expect the best.My rib eye bone in was a huge piece of meat ,however thats all it was.Totally tasteless and not cooked with any finesse.Shame because location etc all great. We had better cooked steaks elsewhere
Be the first to ReplyNot worth the money!
First the positive. The steaks and deserts are very good but not better than many other steak houses in town. The whole experience was very hurried. It is very loud and the tables are packed so tight the waiters can barely get around. The sides were a joke and relatively small. The creamed spinach was just a runny little cup of green cream, the hash browns were soggy and burnt, the Brussels sprouts were overcooked and over flavored - the lobster Mac and cheese was decent. They started frantically clearing the table before two out of five guests were finished eating. The wine list is long but seriously overpriced. In general the service seemed robotic and impersonal. All about efficiency and turning tables. I would take my hard earned dollars elsewhere. There are so many great steak places in this city.

prejudice and disrespectful please steer clear of this restaurant. I will never go there again I really don't have nothing good to say about this restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyBest steak Iโve ever eatenโฆ
Quite simply, I had the best steak Iโve ever eaten. Bone in Rib, served simply but cooked medium to perfection..no sauces and tasted amazing. My wife who loves sea bass chose this, which might have been dodgy in a steakhouse..excellent and not overcooked. Itโs not cheap partic with USD exchange but I actually felt the steak was worth its $80! Highly attentive service, we had a great chat with the Irish owner Matt. Our best meal in Chicago!
Be the first to ReplyI think this is the best steak I've ever eaten...!
Mrs. O and I were guests at a business dinner hosted here at the Chicago Cut Steakhouse. Our waiter was very engaging and made what we initially thought was a prideful boast - "If you only eat steak once in a while, today is the day." Well, we are regular carnivores, but this statement did seem to set the bar pretty high. I ordered the 8 ounce filet. I could write more, but I'll just say it this way - our waiter wasn't boasting, he was simply stating the truth - I think this was singularly the best steak I've ever eaten. The seasoning was perfect and the meat was amazingly tender and perfectly cooked. Of course the service was stellar as well. Definitely would go back, and would highly recommend this restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyMust try for a wonderful meal
We were referred to Chicago Cut for dinner and so happy we were. We dined outside which was beautiful. The service was on point and our server was the sweetest girl from Ireland. For an appetizer we shared Lobsterescargo which was absolutely divine. Huge pieces of lobster ! My husband ordered the tenderloin which was cooked to perfection. The hash browns are a must try. Truly enjoyed our experience.
Be the first to ReplyGreat place for a celebration
Wfe and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here, we had a reservation and was seated right away upon arrival. Our waiter was Joe and he was great, took our orders explained everything, and keep everything very light and easy going. We had the lollipop lamp chops for and appetizer and then were well seasoned, very tender with a tasty sauce on the side. For an entrรฉe I had the Bone in Prime Rib, it was a little heavy on the char in the beginning, but more tasty when getting more to center cut. My wife and I split the side of Truffle Scallop Potatoes, they were awesome and very rich, also plenty enough to share. My wife had the Brazino, and really enjoyed it. Foe dessert we had the Chocolate Ganache Cake with Raspberry sauce. I love chocolate and this did not leave me wanting, it was rich and very very good. It's a great place for a celebration
Be the first to ReplyThe best meal experience I've ever had
I was in Chicago for the NRA (National Restaurant Association) convention and was thrilled to see our company (Elite Food Safety Training) was dining there on saturday night. There were six of us and got a table in the center of the dining room, which I enjoyed to see the front of house staff do their thing and I could still see the Celtics game on in the bar as well. Joe was our server, but that is a huge understatement for the impeccable display he and his staff performed that night. Everything came out perfectly, including replacing silverware as needed for each course. It was a pleasure to watch Joe direct his staff like a conductor. The food came out and everything was correct, I got the Branzino which was moist, flavorful and delicious. We shared a couple sides like brussel sprouts and Mac and cheese and were equally delicious. My co workers got steaks and salmon and were happy with everything. As for dessert, Joe had all the desserts on one shareable plate for us. It was hands down the best meal experience I've ever had. Thank you to the back of house staff for a great meal and Joe for making our dining experience complete, I will be coming back and will let Joe know ahead of time because this man knows people and how to take care of them, cheers Joe!
Be the first to ReplyVery LOUD and crowded indoors, would only recommend outdoor seating
Our concierge recommended Chicago Cut, and our initial impressions were good - they were very friendly and accommodating, seated us at a window table as requested. But the place was jam-packed (based on photos, it looks like they had removed some tables earlier, but there is definitely no social distancing happening here anymore), and the acoustics are terrible - so loud it's difficult to have a conversation, so everyone is talking very loudly, making it even less safe. None of the staff were wearing masks, and our waiter literally had to lean over and shout in our faces to be heard, which made me very uncomfortable. The food was fine, not remarkable. I really couldn't wait to get out of there. The location right on the river is great, and if the weather had been nice enough for them to open the patio for dining, I think it would have been much more enjoyable. I wanted to like it, but sadly would not recommend indoor dining there.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Outdoor Dinner
We ate outdoors at Chicago Cut. The setting was nice, the food was terrific: The bone in filet and hash browns with jalapeรฑo and cheese were excellent. Drinks were good, and so too was the service.
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding
Everything was excellent from the service to the food to the ambiance. We sat outside and I was with a larger group. This didn't cause a delay in our orders and in fact everything came out quickly and exactly as requested. One of the best meals I've had in a longtime. Had the bone-in ribeye which I'm going to have to take on the plane! Also shared grilled asparagus and parmesan fries. Both excellent. Nice glass of wine. The guy sitting right next to me had the largest piece of prime rib I've ever seen. It could feed 3-4 people! They seated us immediately and we sat outside right on the river and it was just lovely. Pricey but worth it. I'll definitely return here next time I'm in town.
