Cento Columbus Reviews from The Last Year
A must try! We had an overall great experience.
Awesome indoor ambiance and delicious food. Just a couple of hiccups with the service that should be improved. 5 stars for ambiance and food. 2.5 stars for service. My husband and I came for our anniversary. The restaurant was very accommodating and it felt special. The bread and cheese to start was outrageously good. We split the following dishes. Stuffed squash for an app. Endive salad. (Phenomenal flavor combo. Delicious). The pasta vodka was very good. Appreciate the kitchen serving both salad and pasta on separate plates. My husband had the pork chop. He really liked it and the pepper ragu it was nestled in was unique and very delicious. I enjoyed my daiquiri cocktail. It's not some thing I would normally order and really enjoyed it. My husband's wine pairing for the pork chop was superb. I really liked my Chianti For desserts, we chose gelato. I wanted to like it, but the pistachio was flavorless. As was the chocolate. It was cold going down and that was refreshing because I still had my wine. Our only complaint was the service. It could have been an off night, but we experienced some frustrations. Very attentive at first with bread, water, drink orders and meal orders; attentive to bringing food out hot. Very attentive to switching out utensils. But trying to get more water was tough. And BOTH rounds of our drinks (cocktails then wine) took an inordinate amount of time to receive. My husband was halfway through his pork chop before his wine arrived. Again, five stars bc the ambience and most of food (let's be honest that's why you go). It was also fairly priced. They just need to revisit beverages.

The food was out of this world amazing! As well as the drinks and bread. We definitely will be back.

I want to be fair that this is a nice place and has a great atmosphere and we did enjoy the patio. We only tried pasta and the shared meatball. Overall the past was okay and the meat ball was good. My observation is the menu is overpriced for what you get. Small portions and nothing special. They use very little meat on the pasta for the most part . And to get a meat or seafood based entree you are in the 35 dollar and up range. So it is designed to maximize the bill while controlling food cost to maximize profit. The two cocktails we had were good but again over priced. It's fun to try the place but not a place I will revisit.
CMR deserves major kudos for three things; 1.
) ever increasing spending on the design of their rooms, 2.) their continued dedication to excellent customer service, and 3.) the improving quality of their food over the years. Cento is beautiful, the service is excellent and food quality is pretty great if not adventurous. The included cheese and bread service is delicious too. While the food is pricy I accept that the ingredients like veal and pork in the lasagna and meatballs are more expensive to prepare. The menu is traditional "Americanized" Italian versus something more authentic like you might get at LaTovala but its tasy all the same. My only real complaint is the bar program - Italian classic cocktails like a Negroni and an Aperol Spritz have added sweetness via syrup (the bartender told me it was to make it more palatable to less experienced drinkers!) which is of course horrible - especially since the menu description does warn you! All -in all though this place is great - for a special occasions in particular.
Strap in, this is going to be a long one.
Visually the place is beautiful. The walk up to the door through the foyer is a prime place for a photo with the your significant it's stunning. You get inside and it's relaxing, very dimmed and intimate enveloped with a cacophony of different aromas; whiskey, wine, vanilla, coffee, colognes and perfumes from the guests, it's very rich and entrancing. Almost immediately after being seated by the hostess our waiter approached us. When I Tell you that he was the best waiter I have ever witnessed it is not an exaggeration. You would have thought that he shopped for every ingredient, cooked every meal, tasted every item on the menu, hell you would have thought he built the entire business from the ground up. He exuded passion and professionalism. Clean cut and razor sharp. The way he described the dishes was next to none, it felt like he studied for this and rehearsed it a thousand times, from the regions the ingredients came, from the methodology of the dish preparations, to the way each bite would act on your palette. Easily a 10-15 minute start to finish interaction just placing our order all while his hands were anchored behind his back and not a single word written down. Was on point the entire meal. My wife dropped her fork and I swear there wasn't a staff member in sight, not even 10 seconds pass and here he comes out of the shadows with a fork on a platter lol even crazier is 10 seconds after that the hostess comes around the corner with a fork on a platter and guess what.... the waiter reappears from the shadows to intercept her to inform her that it was taken care of already. Now let's get to the food. Bread was amazing not much to add. They have it down to a T served with parm chipped right off the wheel. The Caesar which the waiter said was the best in the city was prepped table side served with white anchovies and was indeed the best Caesar I've ever had and I order them at nearly every place that offers them so you can say I've eaten a thousand. Score 1 for the waiter. The scallops.....ok, you are going to have 1 of 3 reactions; 1. Profanity....2.Wide eyed silence and dropping your fork on the table...3.A tear or combination of the 3. They were to die for and single handedly the most decadent and voluptuous bite of seafood I've ever had. Salty, garlicky, sweet, juicy, tender, buttery. Lobster fettuccine was fantastic another amazing bite leading up the main dish; rich and tomato forward creamy and the noodles were cooked to perfection but the price point didn't jive. Osso Buco, the meat was fall off the and bone melt in your mouth tender served over a creamy Parmesan risotto and the presentation was on point but the gremolata really overpowered the dish unfortunately just way too much for my personal taste. While describing the menu the waiter sold the filet mignon; told us what region of Italy the beef came from, the name of the farm etc. He told us that it was the best in the city and at this point I'm skeptical because he said the same thing about the salad but I went with it he even name dropped a couple big spots in town Hyde park and Jeff Ruby's and said it beats them both which I've visited them so I can compare.Filet arrives and it's served over Gorgonzola gnocchi with a cute little confit tomato on top. The whole thing looked immaculate. I bite the steak........profanity...he got me AGAIN!!! Best steak In the city by a country mile it was meat butter it was umami it was what all other filets not named wagyu hope to become when they grow up. Score 2 for the waiter. After the barrage of rich corses we ended the night with a limoncello tart and it was lovely; perfectly sweet and tart and rich with a gorgeous presentation could have eaten 7 of them. Washed it all down with an espresso martini which stood on business. This is currently the best restaurant in Columbus in my opinion and you're gonna pay for it and it's gonna be worth it. Bravissimo!!
Beautiful restaurant and patio.
Service is excellent. They make the Caesar salad right in front of you. Love this restaurant one of my favorite places to go for a nice dinner. It's in German Village so it's street parking with no parking lot.

This is hands-down the best restaurant I've ever ever been to. I was completely blown out of the water by how amazing this place was. I've heard good things, but the experience is completely worth it. Came here for an anniversary and was absolutely not disappointed. Our server Rylie was extremely knowledgeable on the menu and gave great recommendations. I ended up having the pasta carbonara, and my girlfriend had the lasagna. The environment in this restaurant was top-notch. Extremely swanky, you felt like you were not in America but Europe. It took a long time to get a reservation. That's the only bad thing I can say about this place (and I'd say that's a good negative)!
The food and service was great! Definitely recommend
The food and service was great! Definitely recommend getting a bunch of appetizers to share, they were all great. Loved the dim atmosphere, made it seem more private for our group. Dessert was amazing as well

We were greeted by a lovely, welcoming hostess staff, who promptly seated us before our reservation time. We ordered our beverages, which took a little bit of time to receive. Our iced teas were from a bottle, which was disappointing. We ordered our food which took a while to come out, and when it finally got to the table everything was not hot and the noodles were stuck together, slimy, and overcooked. Our pasta dishes weren't great, but the salads and bread were amazing. Overall, we had slow service but they were nothing but respectful and helpful with accommodating all our needs.

Amazing !! First of all, the place is stunning !! There is a stunning red chandelier in the main entrance that catches your eye. Our server and her assistant were fabulous! They made sure we had everything we needed and made sure to offer suggestions and make recommendations. The food itself was spectacular and came out at the perfect time. The star of the show had to be the side Ceaser salad which is made table side and the chicken saltimbocca. I would definitely recommend this place for a nice dinner out !!
Multiple reasons for an "average" rating: Ambiance is 5
Multiple reasons for an "average" rating: Ambiance is 5 stars certainly. We sat in a "cellar room" located in the center of the restaurant inside at a large table meant for bigger party sizes (we had about 9-10 people). It was perfect for a large group of people and there were floor to ceiling windows looking out on the rest of restaurant but drapes if your party wants privacy. Multiple servers and staff for our specific room certainly enhanced the experience. We also were offered a sommelier to consult with for our wine orders. Wine is incredibly overpriced. You would expect the standard double to 150% markup on the retail price of a bottle of wine. However, a specific bottle of white wine (retail for $18-20) at another Short North Cameron Mitchell restaurant sold for around $48-52 goes for almost $70 at Cento. Unacceptable markup and frankly, grounds for never ordering wine here. Glasses go for $18-24 (almost the retail price of a bottle sometimes!). The ambiance does NOT differentiate that much between Columbus CM restaurants to justify that much of a markup at Cento over the Pearl/Guild House, etc. Other cocktails are $17 each. Worth it? Ehhh probably (I'd say $14 is a perfect price) but on par with an elevated dining experience and I'm not gonna argue that one. Apps are presented by the server and on the menu to be shared. Our larger party ordered at least 3 to share and they were delightful and easy to spread around. Personally, I prefer Lindey's burrata ( right up the road) compared to Cento's but it was still excellent. WOULD NOT SUGGEST the table side Caesar. Caught a glimpse of it multiple times throughout the night at other tables and it did not look special at all. At $24 you're also clearly paying for the table side service and not a whole lot goes into stirring up some romaine, croutons, Parmesan and dressing. The patrons I caught glimpses of didn't seem too impressed with the end result either. But to each their own. Entrees were presented and tased well but, again, way overpriced for the sheer amount of food. The pasta dishes other members of our party ordered looked and tasted incredible but absolutely cannot be shared when you may only have 10-15 pieces of rigatoni on your plate for $27. I ordered the branzino and my girlfriend ordered the chicken saltimbocca. We both enjoyed them but agreed the size and taste justified somewhere in the mid $30s not the upper $45-50 range (a chicken dish for $45?!?). Lastly, the desserts were the best part I believe. Absolute must is the tiramisu. Soooooo good. Chocolate torte and gelato were also ordered and everyone in our party had a clean plate by the end. Overall, for two people sharing three apps across 9 people, two cocktails/glasses of wine each, two entrees, and one dessert brought the bill to around $230 before tip. Upon leaving the restaurant, all 9 of us stood in a circle and agreed we were happy to have gone once and tried the highly anticipated Cento. Everyone did enjoy the room, the ambiance and the food. But no one would suggest going again. Hence the middle of the road review. Good, not great. The outdoor patio looked lovely for the warmer weather days but I'm genuinely curious how Cento will do in the winter months and at these very elevated prices after the initial allure of the brand new place wears off.

I've been here 2 times in the past month and had a very nice experience both times. Start off, the service is fantastic. Very friendly and wait staff is very attentive. You essentially have 2 servers for the table that help each other. There was continuous filling of water, checking on drinks, changing out of silverware. They are also very knowledgeable about the menu and made some great suggestions. The manhattan has mocha cherries which were delicious! The dirty martini made with basil infused cocchi which was a nice twist. We had the burrata, beef carpaccio, tuna and Caesar salad for starters. Burrata was very good. Beef carpaccio sliced to perfection. Tuna was tasty ( wish it was a bit bigger portion). We prefer the scarpinocc and rigatoni pastas for the table along with a side of meatballs. The pastas cooked to perfection. The scarpinocc was better than the rigatoni. Three large meatballs were served on the side in a tomato sauce. So tender, and delicious! I had the pork chop. Double bone in. Cooked amazingly. Tender and moist. The Cipollini Agrodolce was a bit on the heavy side, the dish could probably do without so much of it, but one of the best pork chops I've had. On my second visit I had the chicken. Not great. Fairly dry and bland. Others at the table had the veal parm which they said was really good. A huge portion of veal with bone in. The 3 at the table couldn't finish it and had to box the rest of it for home. For dessert had the torte, gelato and lemoncello tart. The torte was average. Gelato was great. The tart was the best dessert I tried. Overall a really nice 2 evenings. Ambience and service are top notch. Appetizers are very good, though on the smaller side as for portion size. Pasta is really good. I will say It is fairly pricey so probably a nice place for a special occasion.

Made a reservation and they said they only had seats at the bar. We were perfectly fine with that, but pleasantly surprised when they sat us on the patio. The filet mignon was the best we ever had, period. Staff was also amazing, great servers! We'll be back!

Cento lived up to the hype, particularly in terms of service. From the beginning to the end of the meal, we had something like 5 different people taking care of our dinner needs, from our excellent main server to the in-house sommelier to a manager who checked on us to a gentleman who set up our Caesar salad to be made tableside. Everyone was equally attentive to all the other tables: it is clear they want you to have an excellent experience in all ways. We ordered one dish from every part of the menu: antipasto, veggies, pasta, mains, and dessert. The beef carpaccio was the best I've ever had; the veal Parmesan carbonara were very rich and well proportioned; we took some home as leftovers. The Caesar salad was excellent and very fresh (especially as we watched it being made next to us). The cocktails were standouts, especially the dirty martini with their house olives that had a hint of spiciness to it. Even the course was interesting and more than the typical simple bread basket at another restaurant. Cento is definitely pricey, but you are pay for the great ambience, and a very personalized experience. Especially recommend for a special occasion, as they will go all out for a birthday or something like that.
Easter lunch, with server Maggie, was excellent.
Artichoke10/10, Cesar salad 10/10, Espresso martinis 11/10, Parmigiana 10/10, Variety of entrees 9/10, Vino 10/10, service10/10. One of the best meals we've had in Columbus. Highly recommend this quaint little place.
Columbus.
....Welcome to CARBONE! I'm chuckling at the folks who say...oh the portions are small and it's so expensive. The menu is posted on line - it ain't the freegin Olive Garden or the shell that carrabbas once was. We are so damn fortunate to have a place like this in our town. Congrats on your 100th buddy!

I just had to try Cento and my friend finally got us a reservation. The staff was attentive and friendly from valet, to entrance, to table... 10/10. Our waiter explained the menu and specials in great detail. He answered any and all questions we had and was very attentive. The ambiance gave sultry romance. It was absolutely beautiful. The food unfortunately was just average and the pasta was a smaller portion than anticipated. However, the desserts were absolutely stunning.

Wow finally made it to Cento and it did not disappoint! The staff really turns your meal into an experience - our team spent so much time talking to us, walking us through the menu, going through some of the fun facts (like the cheese wheel!) and even taking some pictures for us at the end of the night. We closed the place down with a 9:30pm reservation on a Friday night. The restaurant was only half full at that time so definitely worth the later meal. I would still recommend making a reservation though. I can't wait to go back when the patio is open, it'll double the space of the restaurant! Loved every dish I ordered, I started with the Whipped Ricotta, had the Scarpinocc as my main course and added a meatball and finished with the Chocolate Hazelnut Tort. The red sauce of the meatball doesn't really go with the Scapinocc's lemon flavor, but it was worth it, the meatball is delicious!!! Overall such a good experience, a little on the expensive side for what you get, but it's definitely worth it for a special occasion or a treat yourself meal!
Missed the Mitchell Mark
Took the family out for dinner on a Thursday evening. Opted for the bar area, but it turned out to be too loud. The food seemed overpriced given the quality and expected CM standard. The swordfish, served somewhat like a soup, was dry. The rigatoni red vodka saucehad an average flavor in a large portion. The risotto side was overly salty for $26. The octopus appetizer was thinly sliced and not appealing. Parmesan came in clumps, and there was no oil or fresh pepper for the bread. Cento felt overpriced for its eccentric vibe. While service was exceptional, the overall experience didn't justify the cost in this competitive market. Spending $400 should come with dishes that I truly love, and bread doesn't count.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.

This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!

Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.

Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil

Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
