Cédric Grolet Singapore Reviews from The Last Year
Great croissants, meh everything else
Croissants are by far the best we have ever had. But the rave review ends here. Service: it appears that staff doesn’t get trained consistently and thus doesn’t really know what is on offer. We asked for the available pastries and were blandly told about ‘kouign amann, pain au chocolat and almond croissant’. Pain suisse, cinnamon bun and some two other items weren’t even mentioned and we only saw them when we took a look at the semi open kitchen/prep area. The almond croissant they mentioned was in kouglof shape with crunchy caramelised sliced almonds on the outside and had it been described as such we would have been intrigued. Other tables may have had better service - we saw that another table had an extended greeting from the male host and we were left wondering if families with children are just not valued as guests. Had he come over (which with only about a dozen tables shouldn’t have been hard) we would have provided feedback which now just ends up written on TA. Food: while the croissant is perfect in its technical execution it would be even more enjoyable if it was served warm. Same for all other pastries. Also, the pain au chocolat could have a second chocolate baton inside, a singular piece is just too little for lavour make it stand out from the plain croissant. Kouign Amann was too heavy, stodgy and dense for our taste, not as elegant and weightless as the other pastries we tried, but taste is subjective and others might enjoy this mightier pastry. Drinks: the coffee is average and one could elevate the experience by having different roasts available to choose from.
Posh cute place at the lobby of Como Metropolitan
Cedric Grolet is at the lobby of Como Metropolitan Hotel where we stayed at. Chick, modern, and serves unique cakes. Reservation is recommended to assure you get table since the establishment is not that big. But buying for take-away is always accepted. All staff are friendly and knowledgable about the items they sell. It was an amazing experience and we will definitely go back when we visit Singapore again.
Service was awful.
Overpriced for its ridiculous service. Went twice. First time was decent. 2nd time was today and it was outrageously awful. They don’t have enough Glassware to serve me water! Service was slow. Sat down at 10:40am with my girls already there. Had to follow up my order of hot drink at 11ish. I asked for water and they never got me one. I followed up, and girl said “the reason why we have not served you water is cos we don’t have anymore glass!”What none sense! i replied straight back “that’s ridiculous!” I said i don’t mind any kind of glass or cup you serve water on, someone suggested take away cup and I said I don't mind. And they did serve me with take away cup even though they have cleared glasses! They have few tables with enough staff, and we already have pre paid set and most tables do. Why is anticipating how much cutlery, crockery and glassware so hard to organise? So disappointing for a place that charges that much has not enough glassware. :/ Honestly, the croissant’s good, specially in asia, coffee is decent but not worth paying that money with that kind of service. And it’s not even that much money.
Wonderful Pastries And Service
Located within the Como Singapore on the ground floor. I came here for some takeaway and thought it would be busy however when I walked in, it wasn’t busy at all (at least for takeaway) but the tables for dine in seemed taken. It was earlier in the morning so that may have made a difference. The service is very friendly and I ordered a takeaway Mocha. There were no prices for the drinks so was surprised the coffee (only one size) was more expensive than the Parisian Flan. The layers of pastry were exquisite and one of the nicest and most decadent ‘custard tarts’ I had eaten. It was so flaky and the custard filling was creamy and delicious. The Mocha was nice but not sure I’d order it again based on price. Very glad I tried this patisserie and would recommend a try here.
It’s a No from me
Terribly disappointed, not worth the money. Pastry and service gets the same review. Mayby they can shape up and be like in France…
Good food, bad service
Went in for breakfast. Food was quite good, but pricey. I could tell it was made well. Service was bad. Food was not served at the same time, orders got mixed up etc. Honestly, better to just get take out.
Cedric Gro-Let Down
I visited the Singapore branch recently. I would have imagined that after a couple of months, the service would be befitting for a restaurant of this caliber. However, it was anything but… The first staff who approached us was incredibly blunt. While we did not have a reservation, he said, “if you don’t have a reservation, you can take out and eat it outside.” What the hell, dude!! Then another suited employee treated us as though we were trying to get entrance into some exclusive club. Yes, it’s popular, Instagramable (if that’s your thing), etc., but seriously, we asked simple questions like, “How long do you hold reserved tables for if the guest doesn’t show up?” No reply! “How long do you think we should wait until we can get a table?” No reply! “Can we speak to someone who can help us?” No reply! Like seriously, it’s fine to wait knowing we don’t have a reservation, but at least communicate with your customers, especially if you are trying to create an impression! Finally, we conceded and decided to take out. We were ‘greeted’ by two staff members who had zero personality. Even trying to make conversation, it was just no hope! Unfriendly and disinterested in us! Overall, the coffee was meh (they got the order wrong), croissant was decent, but the service was absolutely appalling! Waste of time and money, and I think they have a loooooong way to go in Singapore before they will see my money again. Too much bling bling but no personality! 0/10
Over hyped dessert, not worth the price paid
Tried their tea set and found it to be just okay, and it didn’t quite live up to the hype for me. The taste didn’t match the high price tag, and I left feeling underwhelmed. While it might be a popular spot, it may not be everyone’s cup of tea.
Cederic & Rolet not worth at all
Decided to try out their hazelnut tart to see if it’s worth 26$. My verdict is ‘NO’. It tastes not bad but definitely not at 26$ price. There are more better tarts at more reasonable price. Also, one minus point is that staff is not able to explain the tart well. For 26$ tart, can u just tell customer that ‘oh it’s just hazelnut cream inside’. I was like WTH….
Long queue, overpriced and horrific attitude
Singaporeans love standing in line for new stuff, so the queue is frustratingly long. What makes it worse is snobbish staff with a bad attitude, treating customers without respect. But Singaporeans are not stupid, and they have a memory. Overpriced, poor service eateries quickly become deserts, like Luke’s lobster rolls at Shaw’s. At least, they serve lobster there. Here it’s only flour and sugar!

That's what AT sponsorships are for - and you are only paying 25% in the first year and then less in year two and three.
I beliebe @EternalAnt36 was sponsored by @PerceptiveWash44 and is now doing $25k/mo.
You can write on the top sellers profiles (type 'Top 10' in the searchbar) and then tap request sponsorship button after you found the guy or gal like to work with!
