🤢 2/5 - Comfortable room, artistically renovated historic hotel, experience marred by noise

This is a charmingly restored historic hotel. The room was comfortable and staff was pleasant. However, there are two restaurants/bars in the hotel that play loud music late into the night. This hotel has a central atrium that is open to all floors, so all rooms open to the atrium space. The loud music from the restaurant/bar extends into speakers in the atrium, so my room vibrated from the volume. The other thing to be aware of if you're thinking of staying there, which is something the hotel has no control over, is there is intense construction happening across the street. One building appears to be a historic structure that has been gutted, and there is a building being built next door to it. The sound of drilling into the ground for foundation pilings was deafening. This hotel says it is oceanfront, but actually is across busy Collins Ave from a parking lot that then leads to the beachwalk before you come to the actual beach. The hotel itself is not oceanfront, it is on a busy street. The beach in that location borders the construction sites, plus there is construction going on actually on the beach itself for structures related to Art Basel, which happens in December. A crew member on that construction says that it is a weeks-long build before the actual event happens. So there is no quiet on that part of the beach during the day, which is when most people go to the beach. This quaint, artistically-renovated hotel has the potential to be a lovely retreat, but all that is spoiled by the intensity of noise from the restaurant/bars in the hotel and the extreme construction noise across the street.
