Cafe Medina offers a nice change of breakfast flavors
We stopped here for breakfast, as it was close to our hotel. It was the perfect antidote to a rainy day. The servers couldn't have been more gracious while seating us, explaining the menu and serving. We found the coffee to be exceptional - especially my salted caramel latte. If it's possible, my husband enjoyed and inhaled the paella. They were able to modify their Saumon Fume for me and make it gluten-free. Loved the combined flavors of the fried egg, smoky salmon cream cheese, onion jam and more. It was a nice change from classic breakfast options. If you're open to a breakfast/brunch departure - try Cafe Medina. Get there early, however, as it's popular and somewhat small.

This is a centrally located restaurant, near the end of Robson Street, and easy to find. We went there for breakfast and the food was delicious and cooked to perfection. Also, the staff were very friendly and attentive. Can see why it is rated so highly.

What a great find for a late breakfast/brunch in the heart of Vancouver! Our hotel concierge recommended it to us when we were late rising and still wanted to have breakfast. Great coffee. Innovative egg dishes. The breakfast Tagine was a tasty and SPICY start to the day. Relaxed and upscale ambience.

Always my go to restaurant for brunch or lunch in Vancouver. Consistently on point! Service is great, food is delicious and vibe is always on point.

We dined at Cafe Medina soon after disembarking from our Alaskan cruise. There was an hour wait to eat inside but no wait if we dined at the picnic tables outside the restaurant. We chose al fresco dining with no wait! The menu is unique and interesting. We ordered the Liรจge Style Waffles with salted caramel sauce, the Wolves Breakfast for Two, and Dark Chocolate Mochas (see photos). We were not disappointed by our choices and even wished we had ordered more than 2 waffles. The menu descriptions were accurate & helpful in making a selection. By the time we were eating, we heard that the wait time had increased to 2 hours so this must be a very popular place.

Ate breakfast here during a business trip to Vancouver. Nice breakfast menu and very pleasant staff. Nice outdoor seating too. I had the granola with fresh fruit, which was tasty and plentiful. Will gladly come back.

Cafe Medina has a well deserved reputation as being Vancouver's premiere restaurant for breakfast and brunch. Expect to wait for a table if you don't have a reservation. Our wait, on a cool Friday morning, was 20 minutes. Our meals were served hot and were delicious. Our server, Kevin, was warm, friendly and professional and even had a moment for a welcoming chat. He obviously enjoys his job because he could be seen chatting with other customers and members of the staff. He was ably assisted by Charlotte and Guilherme; who both made time for a few words at our table. The decor and atmosphere at Medinas are eclectic & fun; it seems to have a distinct Belgian flair. I recommend this cafe as a special place to visit when in Vancouver

Bring your appetite because the food here is amazing. I also cannot rate the staff high enough either. So attentive, knowledgeable and the we never waited long for our food. We booked online for a fee but it was refunded after our visit otherwise you will need to line up for a table and it does get busy so get there early

Went for brunch on Sunday with reservation, thank goodness, as it was very busy and had people waiting outside. Had the Fricasee with short rib, waffles, Medina bacon and eggs. Everything was excellent. Definitely recommend.
Be the first to ReplyA very popular place for brunch!!
This place is always busy and advanced booking is must although the do accept walk ins but be prepared for a lengthy wait. We came on a Sunday for brunch and it was lively and buzzy. Ii liked the vibe and the decor. We ordered the granola which was good. We then ordered the Israeli cous cous which was good but felt it could be a bit more generous in portion. We also ordered another dish with sunny fried eggs. We then indulged in the liege waffles with mixed berry compote and this together with the hot chocolate was the highlight of my brunch. A lovely place for brunch and would love to visit again.

This was our first visit, and we both really enjoyed our breakfast. I had a waffle with maple syrup and mixed berries. The waffle was so good that I ordered 4 to go. My husband had poached eggs with lamb meatballs. The staff were very friendly and pleasant. The restaurant is not very big and the tables are very close together. They do get very busy, so be prepared to stand in line, but definitely worth it. We will return again.

Line ups speak for themselves. Make a reservation in advance. Lovely atmosphere. Superb food. Belgian waffles and sauces are as good as any in Belgium. Where this place shines is the non waffle items. Extraordinary attention to flavour and texture..who thinks to put carmelized onions in dijon mustard, to add balance to a chorizo sausage. Coffee easily best in city. Food is worthy of bib gourmand. Service is attentive and relaxed. Nice to see owner bussing tables.

Fantastic brunch! The service was top notch, very attentive. The food was phenomenal, I had the steak and eggs and my wife had the smoked salmon. Both dishes were so rich and delicious. Full of flavor.
Be the first to ReplyWho knows what we could have had, but opening hours arenโt updated.
We wanted to give Medina a try but sadly, their opening hours arenโt correct here and led us to face closed doors at 8am. Not a good sign if a business not making sure essential details are correctly reflected on TA, Google and likes.

We have eaten here several times and it never fails to impress. You must have the waffles even if you do not normally eat them. All the breakfast items are very good. And, importantly so is the coffee. Highly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyNot that vegan friendly.
Great lead server and nice restaurant but not many vegan options. The lead server was super nice and very helpful. The restaurant is lovely and the food my friend had looked great. So was very disappointed that the only actual vegan option was avocado on a small bit of bread for $10. It was nice but was disappointing. I hope they invest in more vegan options as I will be more willing to come back if I had more choice to choose from.
