Everything was so delicious and the service was so good.
We got a wonderful st pattys day drink. The biscuits were my favorite! The chicken was fried but not too fried where it was greasy. Highly recommend!

My fave old fashion in Boston!!!! Definitely worth checking out and eating some good ole southern comfort food
Be the first to ReplyI came here hoping this place would live up to the reviews.
I ordered the chicken and wagyu sliders and they were not good. I've had a better chicken sandwich at chick fil a. The only reason this place received any stars is because of the biscuits. On top of the mediocre food, the service was disappointing. It took forever for our server to come to our table. We never got any water refills or the lemons that we requested. I definitely won't be returning.
Be the first to ReplyLove the decor, atmosphere and staff! One word : Bisquits.
They are an out of body experience.

How we ended up at a Southern spot when we should have been eating lobster rolls, or clam chowder, or baked beans, or Boston cream pie, or cannolis - I have no idea - but I'm so glad we wandered into Buttermilk & Bourbon! The New Orleans BBQ shrimp and grits was fantastic, the smoked trout toast was perfection, and the grilled swordfish top notch. If you decide to walk to Harvard from Boston this restaurant is on the popular route on Commonwealth Ave in Back Bay. Commonwealth Ave is one of the coolest streets I've walked down given the way they utilize the path (statues galore).

My boyfriend and I came to Boston for a small getaway and to see the city. We ate at Buttermilk and Bourbon the first night here and wow.!! We were both very impressed. The Warm Biscuits were clearly a staple as every table had them, we didn't even order them initially but couldn't help but add it on. Thank god we did. 10 out of 10. They came 4 big biscuits and cinnamon butter and pimento cheese spreed, both worked somehow. The brisket Mac and Cheese was good , the Smokey brisket was chopped up and mixed through out , it was moist but had a great crispy bread crumb topping. The chicken sliders were on another level. Juicy , flavorful, crispy, way bigger than a slider lol. Hit every box. The spicy miso mayo killer. I don't eat seafood, but my boyfriend said he could eat the Shrimp dish everyday. The restaurant was so cute and had the best vibe with the hanging vine plants coming down from the ceiling.
Be the first to ReplyMy first visit to Buttermilk & Bourbon was a Sunday morning.
I wasn't able to secure a reservation, so my cousin & I decided to drop in exactly at 10:30 (when they open) to see if we could waitlist for a table. Luckily enough, they had space and we were able to be seated right when they opened at 10:30am without a reservation! (A true miracle!) I love the interior design and ambiance of the restaurant, with various atmospheres in different areas. I loved the blue-ish dark room we were seated in. The food was really good and the service was fast as well. Chicken and waffles are a favorite of mine and I love how soft and fresh the waffles were. The biscuits and gravy were good as well, but the sausage was a bit overpowering to the rest of the dish. Overall, I had an amazing time! Tip: Highly recommend making a reservation at LEAST two weeks in advance to secure a spot, because it gets busy very quickly!
Be the first to ReplyLoved the tapas style servings.
I only really went for their honey glazed biscuits which are divine by the way! The service was great and they had a separate bar area for seating as well. Definitely check it out.
Be the first to ReplyThis is my second time at B&B.
(My previous visit was in Summer 2022.) The place attests to its name, at least to the second part of it: their bourbons are classy and taste like nectar. (I tried their customized Knob Creek, and a friend of mine tried the flight .) It is hard to beat a good bourbon, but the food was even better. The portions are not super huge, so be prepared to order add-ons. My only complaint is that chicken wings were not available with blue cheese, but I can survive that. As for service, Mimi was amazing, and so were the other waiters and waitresses who preferred to remain anonymous. Special thanks to the bartender for his skillful advice. The prices? No, this is not a cheap place. Sorry.

Super fast service and good food! Servers were really attentive. Definitely a highlight of my trip to Boston!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing ambience, food, drink and service.
I loved the piggy back rye'd cocktail. 20/10 because I had two!I am a sucker for fried pickles and absolutely loved them but they are definitely on the saltier side. The Oysters were delicious! The crispy skinned salmon was the underdog. Sitting on buttery mashed sweet potatoes with roast cauliflower. Very good! And lastly the apple biscuit bread pudding. I split this with my brother but should have gotten my own. Overall 10/10 experience!

What a great meal- brought us right back to NOLA! We stopped for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Service was friendly and fast. We ordered all our favorites from the NOLA area- shrimp and grits- so good we should have ordered one to go- delicious crispy fried chicken, pulled pig fries and the best biscuits I have ever had. Portions were big enough for 2 plus we had leftovers to take home. Bonus- order the Hurricane- it will bring you to Bourbon Street.

We came here for our team dinner after our two day offsite, and honestly this place exceeded expectations. As a vegetarian I wasn't super excited about the menu but the honey glazed biscuits, mac and cheese, and wedge salad (sans bacon) were fantastic! The other vegetarians at my table also got the fresh mozzarella and said it was delicious - it certainly looked tasty! The little room they gave us was perfect, and all the servers were extremely attentive and patient with a group of our size. Of course we ended our meal with beignets which did not disappoint. I would definitely consider coming back here the next time I'm in Boston - loved the vibe of the restaurant, and the food was great!
Be the first to Replythis was a pleasant surprise.
living in new orleans, it's difficult to find comparable home cuisine outside of the city. i'll spare you the "walking in i was transported to bourbon street and a quaint little restaurant off the beaten path" ... the ambiance is reminiscent of nola textures, but it could have used music authentic to the area to tie the senses together.sitting at the bar, the tenders were attentive and friendly from the start. great service throughout.for dinner i had the bbq shrimp with jalapeño grits and the biscuits. biscuits come with 4 and are huge and heavenly - fluffy with just the right amount of honey without turning it into dessert. the butter was so good that it easily reduced the biscuit to nothing more than a vessel to shovel butter into my mouth. now the bbq shrimp. i normally skip this on the menu at home, just not a fan of this usually one dimensional dish, but since it was served with jalapeño grits and andouille sausage i had to give it a try. it is easy to mistake this for shrimp and grits, ITS NOT! the differentiator is the sauce. this is definitely a bbq sauce, and a damn good one. the pairing with the andouille sausage gives a good kick, and the grits were oh so smooth. don't be intimidated by the jalapeño, it isn't that spicy. some baby heat, but no real bite. it's safe for the intolerant palette. this will easily become my comfort food when i visit. only recommendations are theme music and add a mezcal drink to the menu! sazarec is fine, but mezcal is becoming more of a nola staple! great job with this one though, can't wait to come back for the chicken.

We had reservations but still had to wait an additional 30 minutes. Manager made up for the wait with drinks and a couple of appetizers. Food was great. Drinks also good. Service was slow but this place is super busy. Friendly staff.
Be the first to ReplyThis is a cute intimate restaurant.
It has a very nice vibe inside with the candles and music. It's all small plates with foods you have to share which is perfect for me. They serve southern food and I would say it's one of the best southern food places in Boston. The highlights of the meal are the biscuits and the beignets. The biscuits are huge. They're a nice mix of salty and sweet and they come with different types of butters and sauces that change up the flavor. The beignets are also airy and warm when it arrived.I got a couple other dishes that were okay. The chicken was fine, a little on the salty side. I also went to Nashville before and their take on the Nashville Hot chicken wasn't the same.

I have been here twice now on the last 4 months at Arsenal Yards. The Shrimp with grits dish was very good compared to my childhood memories of living down South!! The shrimp was perfectly cooked and had lots of flavors and the grits was just right not too runny and not too thick!! Flavor combination of both was right on!! As to the beignets - the dough is all wrong and definitely they made it out of fried pastry dough instead of the real puff dough that one gets in New Orleans!! Even though the texture was wrong my friend Lisa who ate with me agreed that it was still yummy!! As for the service it was good. Nothing stood out for us. The place is definitely hopping with people even on a Wednesday night!! And the ambience is loud with the music and normal people talking. Definitely not a place for a romantic dinner but a place to have some good solid food to fill your hunger!! Love the idea of sharing small plates of good eats!! We enjoyed it and definitely will be back.
Be the first to ReplyThe chicken and the toast were burnt.
The appetizers were good otherwise. Unclear why they would be primarily a chicken place without executing that perfectly.

My one annoyance with this place is most of the menu isn't one person friendly. I wanted to have 1 biscuit portion with my boneless chicken, but they flat out wouldn't allow it, comes with 4 and thats it. Ok guess if I want to try the biscuits I'll bring 1 or 2 other people. Since I had other things to do and wasn't heading straight home, carrying it out wasn't a feasible option. I also wanted their salad, but I took one look at the portion someone got and passed on that as well, too much. So if you're 1 person wanting to try variety of items at this place, bring other people. No table was available so I sat at the bar. Service was speedy and bartenders were great. The boneless chicken was pretty good, breading was balanced in terms of crispiness and seasoning. Sweet & Spicy side sauce was gross to me, way too tangy, maybe if you're into that may like it. I switched to the white BBQ sauce. WAY better, has a dill like flavor to it.I'll go back one day, but not alone.
