Wonderful hotel and highly recommended! There are so many great things about this hotel. Firstly, helpful friendly staff with good customer service. Secondly, the room is beautiful, clean, and has a nice terrace with the beautiful views of Positano. I booked the Superior Double Room with a small terrace with sea view, and stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. The terrace has perfect views of Positano. Breakfast was included during our stay. We had breakfast at our room terrace as well as at the breakfast area that has the same views as from our room terrace. Good and delicious selection of food for breakfast. Thirdly, it is situated in a great location which is in the middle of Positano close to the beach, restaurants, shops, and ferry ports.

This was our fifth time staying at Buca Di Bacco and it never disappoints. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Positano. The staff and service are simply the best. They go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your time at the hotel. We just celebrated our 40th anniversary this past visit and I so look forward to our next visit.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic Positano Hotel Experience; Great View, Excellent Service, Very Clean and Superb Food!
We absolutely loved this wonderful hotel and the staff. The facility was lovely, super clean, classy and elegant, but not stuffy. The staff was excellent; friendly, great service for anything we wanted or needed; directions, breakfast, lunch, dinner, an appertivo, or just an espresso. All delivered with quality, care and a smile! Highly recommend their restaurant/food. We dined at several Amalfi Coast restaurants, and had 4 breakfasts and 2 dinners here, and all were just excellent. Their kitchen has a window to the pedestrian street, so you can see the chefs working in a super clean kitchen with their excellent ingredients. Not sure many restaurants will want you to see into their kitchen...Our room had the most amazing view, day or night. Super romantic! Even the shower had a window to enjoy the view of the picturesque Amalfi Coast!

My daughter and I stayed at this hotel again for a second year running. It was very busy in July (the year before I visited in May). The first visit was better. I was given a beautiful room as the hotel was not busy as Italy had just opened up and pricing was a lot better ($400 less a night for the same room). We were given a small room when we first arrived despite asking for the same room again. The next day we were graciously moved when I enquired about my old room that I had requested. Annoying when only there four nights but again, it was high season and we were lucky the kind staff got us a room at all during this period. I did feel a tad ‘monitored’ when my daughter had a friend stay on the spare bed at 3am one morning so they could come back safely home together and was questioned about it and told there would be a charge. When I explained she was in the room for four hours sleeping on existing bedding it was removed. I think there is new management now as the quality of the toiletries provided was not the same and the chef had gone too. One meal we had on the upstairs terrace, a veal dish was dry and awful but there was nothing simple to eat. It would be nice if you could get a pizza or a burger/club sandwich when you didn’t want a rich pasta or seafood dish. This was the simplest option and it was barely edible. On the flip side, a meal we had downstairs for lunch was delicious. Maybe different night chef?

Be the first to ReplyThe best hotel in Positano
The best located hotel in Positano, just down in front of the port and the beach, the best views and the best service, Fernanda at reception is a genius and Catello is attentive at breakfast and restaurant at all times! We will definitely return to the same hotel and recommend it to everyone who comes to Positano! Impeccable service, food, cleanliness and location!

I've been to positano many times and this year I decided to stay at Bucca di Bacco hotel. I had seen the reviews and photos on line and we chose an Executive Room. I was nervous staying in a hotel down by the beach since all my prior stays were up higher in Positano and had spectacular views of the Mediterranean and the village. However from the hotel website my understanding was most of the rooms were built into the side of the cliff and are several stories above the beach. The Hotel Bucca di bacco did NOT disappoint. The room was extremely nice and well appointed. It had a really nice sitting area that faced out toward the Mediterranean with spectacular views!! The balcony was huge. It not only had a table and chairs but it also had two chaise lounges and a coffee table with plenty of room to spare. We had all but one of our breakfasts here each morning and it was fantastic - it was hard to actually want to do any thing else. The only breakfast we had in the breakfast room/hotel bar was the first morning. We were advised to do that per the knowledgeable and professional gentleman who checked us in and then showed us to our room ( I think they have to show you to your room since you have to go down a long corridor, up an elevator that I think is built in the cliff then down another corridor, up a second elevator to the corridor that led to the room). We were advised breakfast in the room was no additional charge, but we should go down one day so that we can see what they have and then know what what we would want to order. So we did go, and because it was very cool that morning the terrace wasn't open and we had to eat inside. This was my only disappointment in the Hotel. As beautifully decorated our room was, the breakfast room was not. I think if we could have eaten outside it wouldn't have been so bad. Just be warned, you'll have to maneuver in and out doors amd down a few stairs but the view would be worth it. Additionally, this was the only place we found the service not that good. Actually the waiter that morning seemed like he wasn't happy being there. Meanwhile the room service staff, from the people that took our orders to the waiters that delivered the breakfast were outstanding and friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel, especially the Executive Room if you can afford the upgrade. Oh and don't miss the cream filled pastries!
Be the first to ReplyA trifecta of a great location, service and comfort
We truly enjoyed our five day stay at the Bucca Di Bacco. The hotel location is in great proximity to the beach, the marina and even has an entrance form the main square. Upon arriving we were greeted by Salvatore, who was so kind and helpful throughout our entire stay. Our room was a very nice size, with great storage, it was clean and the AC was fantastic. Heads-up- the bathtub/shower was a bit narrow, so you will need to use caution when showering. Our ample balcony offered a beautiful view of Positano, the beach and of course the iconic Santa Maria di Assunta church- front & center!! The hotel was very clean and the staff very kind and accommodating. I like that a beach bag and towels were there for our perusal, it came in quite handy. I really liked the patio where we enjoyed complimentary breakfast each morning. I especially liked the fresh-squeezed orange juice, I loved pushing the button of the juicing machine and watching juice from local oranges pour into my glass! Since I have a dairy sensitivity, and eat mostly vegan and have a nut allergy, I found breakfast options quite limiting. Also if you prefer an alternative milk for your coffee or cereal, they only offer soy milk. I would suggest offering dairy-free oatmeal with other “milk” options on the side, such as Oat, coconut or almond milk. Also I think a chia-seed “pudding” would be a nice dairy & gluten-free simple addition to the menu. A big thank you to Catello who took excellent care of us every morning and being extremely careful about my nut allergies. I also wanted to mention that there is no access to the hotel by car, so you will have to unload your luggage near Hotel Savoya and hire a porter service, which costs about $10/suitcase one-way; for us that service was fast and efficient. Call the hotel when you are on your way to request a porter to greet you upon arrival and take your bags to Bucca Di Bacco. Also, I would like to mention that since the hotel is located near the main hub of Positano, it not unusual to hear some hustle-and-bustle from the street below late into the night. Also the Club on the Rocks music happily drifts over to the hotel, but not so much so that one can’t sleep. I also reccomend to keep your balcony doors closed to save the room and yourself from hungry mosquitoes, and to keep your room cool. Also, even though we didn’t dine there, the hotel has a very nice restaurant- another convenience for you. We will definitely be staying at the Bucca Di Bacco again in the future!!
Be the first to ReplyPerfect location, friendly staff, and great food
We visited Positano for the first time for friends’ anniversary celebrations. This hotel was one of many recommended by a local, so we selected it based on the fair price. It ended up being the perfect location because it was centrally located just steps from the beach, great food options, and ferry pickup. The staff was very friendly and helped us book an all day boat tour that was so fun. The included buffet breakfast was very good and a great way to start the day on the terrace. Would definitely stay here again!

We just recently stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and could not have been happier!!! We had a sea view room with a private terrace and the views were stunning! The staff was very nice and welcoming to us from start to finish. We even had our anniversary dinner at their restaurant and they were so accommodating they gave us a corner window seat so we could enjoy the sunset!! The food at the restaurant was some of the best we had throughout Italy!! I would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to visiting again!!
Be the first to ReplyNice view, run-down hotel, rude staff
I recently stayed at Hotel Buca Di Bacco after seeing all the positive reviews. The view and location is great, but everything else about the hotel is far from it. Firstly, the hotel and rooms are run-down. I paid in advance for the minibar in our room, but the refrigerator (which must have been about 50 years old) wasn’t working. When I complained to the young guy at the front desk, he told me the fridge was working correctly and “minibar fridges” don’t get as cold as normal fridges. They didn’t fix the fridge or refund my money, instead tried to tell me there was no problem. I was stunned. The drinks I had paid for were warm - not cold at all. They didn’t even bother sending someone to my room to check on it. I travel a lot and have never been treated like that by any reputable hotel in the world. If you decide to stay at this garbage hotel despite my review, do not pay for the minibar in advance. Then there were the “welcome drinks”. When we checked-in, we were told to go to the otherwise lovely terrace at the back of the hotel facing the beach between 5pm and 7pm for a free welcome drink. My partner and I went at 6:30pm and were refused service by Francesco - who said it was too late and they were getting ready for dinner. He was not only rude about it, but completely unapologetic. Again, later in the evening I complained to the young guy at the reception. Same deal. He pulled out a copy of the little voucher we were given when we checked in and started telling me the drinks were only until 7pm (despite me very clearly stating we arrived at the terrace at 6:30pm - the window for the drinks was a single hour apparently!). So in short, great view but otherwise run-down rubbish hotel. I can suffer that normally, but the fact the staff were some of the most rude and arrogant I’ve encountered at any hotel in the world really added injury to insult.
Be the first to ReplyStunning location clean and great hospitality
My husband and I were fortune to find Hotel Buca Di Bacco in Positano. The family run hotel has the perfect location on the beach and stunning balcony views from our room. Breakfast was delicious and the service excellent. The terrace for breakfast and drinks has such a beautiful view of the water we could not resist sitting outside. The hotel is spotless and the staff is hands on. We had the pleasure of meeting Giuseppe a family member and had such a great conversation. Giuseppe is so hands on and such a great asset to the hotel. Thank you Giuseppe for your friendship during our stay and for having such a beautiful hotel the best in Positano!
Be the first to ReplyBugs swarmed inside the room and the management was called no less than 6 times in one evening
The room was fill of bugs when got back from touring the city. The management was called very many times the first night we stayed. All the useless night manager did was make excuses and sent the poor bell man up with a dyson vacuum multiple times after the swarm had gotten big enough and he vacuumed the bugs up. Then he would leave and 5 minutes later the swarm would return. This happened multiple times throughout the night. Don’t stay here and pay 700 euro per night to be swarmed by bugs in your room with management staff who just don’t care. These pictures show whatever kind of insects. Hard headed, uncooperative staff refuses to take accountability for the bug problem in the hotel.
Be the first to ReplyAMAZING, book this hotel if you can!
What a lovely hotel with breathtaking views! I booked a view room but could not reserve that room for my first night. The non-view room was still nice, but the view room is absolutely worth the price! If you are going to Positano, get the view room! The location is ideal. Definitely book the porter service if arriving or departing via car. Arriving isn't as bad as it's downhill, but the cobblestones are tricky, and there are almost always crowds in the summer, but departing would be a must. If arriving/departing via ferry, you can potentially transport your own bags, but you must be able to take them up and down some stairs. The staff was wonderful, I especially wanted to say thank you to Mariachiara, Salvatore and Catello (helped with breakfast); they all had exceptional customer service! Breakfast was included in our rate; it was outstanding every morning and was served on the terrace overlooking the ocean, a really amazing start to each day. I would strongly recommend this hotel and would absolutely book it again!
Be the first to ReplyA perfect stay!
My husband and I stayed here for five nights… Tonight is the last night and I wanted to write a review of how wonderful this hotel is! The location is perfect, the staff is more than accommodating, the breakfast and the food are so yummy, and our room is perfect! They do a turn down service at night time it’s really nice to to refresh the towels and everything. Everywhere is so easy to get to from this hotel. We had stayed in Capri prior to coming here and it just took us about five minutes to walk from the ferry to the hotel. I would highly recommend staying here if you’re coming to Positano! A 10 out of 10 experience!

Be the first to ReplyAmazing Hotel In Positano
Our first stop on our Italy trip was in Positano and we stayed here for 4 nights and glad we did. The Hotel was very nice, staff was very welcoming and very accommodating. They helped us with all our questions, help set up rides, and anything we pretty much needed. All staff we spoke to were efficient in English. The Great- our room was clean, amazing ocean view, great breakfast also overlooking the ocean, the staff. The location is in the heart of town, tons of shops and restaurants in walking distance, multiple shops right outside the hotel door. The Extra Great- Giovanni, I can't express how much he helped us and how enjoyable he made our stay. We bothered him all week with questions and help and he went above and beyond for us and 100% the reason for this review. Giovanni I hope you see this, you were an awesome dude 🤟. No surprise our Limo driver Marco from Dolce said to ask for him. The need to know- This hotel is in a part of town with no roads for cars, you have to walk down a few hills/flights of stairs. If you have a lot or heavy luggage get a porter guy to help you. We walked not thinking about it w tons of luggage 0/10 don't do it lol. Overall based soley on our experience this hotel was 100% worth it.
