It's hard to get a reservation here on a weekend night, but we got one a few weeks in advance! The restaurant is easy to get to (Beltline, Marta, etc). The ambiance inside is good - good music and vibey. The cocktails were SO good. I got the swan song, and it was incredible. My husband got a Negroni and thought it was great as well. 10/10 on drinks. Service was also a 10/10 - friendly, attentive, but not over the top. The food was good. We got the following: Smoked fromage bruschetta Tuna crudo Black spaghetti Sorpresine with lump crab Basque cheesecake I would say the food was SOLID. The reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because some of the dishes were less refined than I expected. For example, the flavors in the tuna crudo seemed too intense and overblown, which really took away from the taste of the tuna. Crudo is typically more delicate than that. Same with the sorpresine - the crab was overtaken by the flavors. I still think the food was super good, but for the price I would've expected more refined flavors. I would definitely come back and try other things though! There were tons of things on the menu that looked/sounded really good.

A local chef recommendation led me here for a drinks / light dinner with a friend. The vibe of the restaurant is very chill and laid-back for a place at this level of dining. In short, you really don't feel as if you need to order lavishly and prove your foodie or big spender bona fides. We split an order of A-16 meatballs, and they were divine. I usually don't eat meat, but I made an exception for these, and they were worth it. I ordered the Fine linguini with Genovese Pesto and summer vegetables which was a solidly good entree but nothing that blew my socks off. My friend had the goat cheese ravioli, which she enjoyed. For the cocktails, I went for the Gap Year, which was a standard sour cocktail, and my friend had two of the Field Medicine, which looked like a better choice to me. When I decided to switch to wine, the waiter brought me a taste of the wine I chose (a Spanish skin contact / orange) and I decided against it, and foolishly declined to pick the white 2023 German Mosel he suggested (again, I sampled it) which was a much better match. I made a terrible choice based on yelp reviews: "What are you, the Police?" I don't know if all the yelp reviews loving this drink were some kind of joke, but this cocktail tastes like pickle juice. Not the fault of the waiter, however, he did bring me samples of both wines. And, let me say up front that the service we received was gracious and prompt, and matched the care of the food. I would love to come back as a date night with my husband or anyone who wants to have a superior and relaxed dining experience. We ended up letting them turn the table (a sweet two top in the corner) and sat on the porch, ordering another glass of wine. An excellent night out.

Got the tasting menu & a few more dishes that didn't disappoint. Atmosphere, service & timing was on point for sure. Love that everyone that drops off food reviews it instead of dropping off leaving you wondering.

i've been here several times and have always had a good experience until this week. i'm not sure if they have a new bar manager but the wine offerings and pricing are out of control. all glasses are only 4oz pours and average $21. all bottle prices are over $100. they have lost their minds. thats is fine for a special occasion but this is not approachable for a week night dinner out. when we asked the server about other options we were met with a terrible attitude and zero hospitality. it was so off putting that we left and had dinner at Zappa. I encourage you to research the prices before making reservations.

I'll start off that I am very biased about this place as it's a neighborhood staple and rightfully so. Very easy to walk and park to. You will need a reservation and give yourself time to get one. The first thing you notice when you step in is the relaxing and dark vibes with the friendliest staff in any restaurant in Atlanta. They are more knowledgeable than any server you will come across for the menu that night. There is always a tasting menu, I did not participate last night, but always worth hearing about and when Inhave had it in the past it does not disappoint. We had multiple drinks and each one is better than the next. If you don't normally drink make an exception. For appetizers we had a light and refreshing mussel dish on top of cucumbers and potato's. As well as my favorite the Tuna and Rice appetizer. I could have that as a meal and be happy. The menu changes often, but I had the one staple, Black Spaghetti. Always delish and the perfect cumulative spice. There was also the crab surprasese. So sweet and delish. Dessert was a chocolate and cinnamon puff. So light and the perfect finisher to the dinner. This is a neighborhood spot, but it's worth coming from far away to try it.

Second time dining at BoccaLupo and still thoroughly impressed! We got a reservation the night before thankfully and decided to go with some friends. Everything was amazing! We had the meatballs and tuna crudo for appetizers. Then for dinner we had the bolognese which is my favorite and the lamb tortelli. This is such a cute restaurant with a neighborhood vibe. Hands down one of the best!

Second time coming within the past month and both times were phenomenal. Both times were a party of 4 and everything we ordered has been good. The black spaghetti, bolognese, and the tasting special was great and well portioned. The best thing on the menu surprisingly is the tuna and crispy rice appetizer. Meatballs are a must order also. From a drink perspective. The clarified punch was one that stood out to us. I ordered a dirty martini last time and it was amazing also. The vibes is like a hipster type of restaurant in the best way. Not too fancy but just right for the area. Make reservations early and go...A LOT!

We had 3 pastas,the black one was ok, the risotto was good but the bolognese was so delicious... now, what went wrong? The service is poor... really bad. We ate and we were there like 30 min with all the plates and table dirty. They came with another pasta we ordered and We asked if they could pick up the dirty plates and this lady looked at me like I was crazy... she wanted to put the fresh pasta on top of the dirty plates? Another 5 min waiting for silverware and another 20 min to pay.

This was quite a drive for us up in Cherokee County, but after seeing the Michelin impression I figured it was worth trying for our anniversary and made a reservation. Parking is a bit tight, but we were able to find street parking about a block from the restaurant. This place has a very hipster feel to it, which is not a knock against it but I was a bit surprised at a server wearing matching Hawaiian print short sleeve shirt and shorts when that wasn't a uniform. As a personal choice, I have questions, but hey -- I wasn't there for fashion (nor should I be, because I've never aspired to being fashionable). All that aside, the seating is a bit odd. We got there around 7 in July, and we were seated by what could be open-air doors with a lot of glass, which made the sun super bright and incredibly warm for an AC that was struggling to keep up with the load in that part of the building. It was fairly full, so we didn't ask for a different table and were able to change our positions at the table to get temperatures that helped us be more comfortable. What I will say, though, is that their cocktails are fantastic - the watermelon one I had was pretty good, but the "What are you, the police?" was perhaps the best cocktail my wife or I have ever had! The food was pretty good, although some descriptions were a bit misleading to us. For example, one appetizer was called "gnocchi" but was actually a polenta cake - I'm not a chef, so I'm not saying it was mislabeled, but we were expecting the more traditional, pillowy potato gnocchi. They also had some sauces that were confusingly named, especially the one that included the term "scallop XO" - again, this may be on us for not being sufficiently food educated, but once we learned it wasn't a scallop dish we just chose something else (in this case, we had asked the right question and the server explained that it wasn't a scallop dish!). Based on the confusion of the menu, I decided against the tasting menu, and I'm glad I did! We had three starters and two entrees as well as a shared dessert - we purposefully had not eaten all day so that we could fully enjoy this menu! All in all, I don't know if I would go back often, but I think it would be a great double date night place if we ever need to be in that part of town for a show or event.

This is a restaurant that I would recommend to others for a night out. I had a wonderful experience at BoccaLupo. As a heads up, there is free parking for the restaurant in the back. The staff, not just our servers and hosts, were all very friendly. The servers in particular are very willing to walk you through their menu and the flavors that can be found there. Their goal seems to be to help you find the best food pairings between the appetizers and entrees. The atmosphere of the restaurant seemed to be more suited to parties of 4 or smaller and was conducive to conversation. Also, the restaurant was very clean. This trip, we ordered the hiramasa crudo as an appetizer, chicken scarpariello and braised lamb tortelli as our entrees with the burnt basque cheesecake as our dessert. Everything was delicious. The hiramasa had a depth of flavor and contrasts of textures. Our biggest disappointment was when we finished the plate. The entrees were both delicious. There were many good notes in both dishes; I would definitely recommend both of them. They were both fairly light but complex in flavor. The dessert was larger than expected. The cheesecake was very dense and also delicious. A satisfying end to the delicious meal. Overall, there were no complaints from our experience at BoccaLupo. We would definitely come back and bring friends.

Truly exceptional food and attentive service. One of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. All of our courses we're phenomenal. Can't recommend this restaurant enough. Will be returning very soon!
Total Lack of Responsiveness
We have been consistently eating at BoccaLupo over the last four years, when visiting my son at college. We thought the food was wonderful, and the service attentive. In advance of graduation I booked for 4 (maximum amount allowed online) then called 3x trying to increase the party size by one to accommodate my family of 5. My calls (and email) were never returned. When I finally got someone in person, they were rude and unhelpful. Removing it from list of restaurants I recommend to Emory parents.

Wonderful special dinner
We ate at BoccaLupo this week to celebrate our daughter-in-law's birthday. We were seated immediately upon arrival based on our reservation time. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. The waiter explained the Tasting special for the night which sounded special indeed so we ordered one and then everyone else ordered off the menu. We also had a few appetizers. Everything was so delicious!
Best pasta in town.
Excellent restaurant in a great spot. I'd rather eat here than almost anywhere in Atlanta.

Limited menu (food and Bev selection), no salads, little protein offerings, noisy strange that the whole meal has to be ordered at the same time,.definitely not a dining experience – more like a fast food order at the counter eat and go.

BoccaLupo is a gem worth the drive for a memorable date night. Hailing from North OTP, we were delighted by the culinary journey it offered. Starting with the burrata/beet and short rib arancini appetizers, we knew we were in for a treat. The flavors were exquisite and set a high standard for the rest of the meal. Moving on to the Black Spaghetti and the Chicken Parmesan, it was evident why these dishes are staples on the menu; they were prepared with precision and packed with flavor. To cap off the evening, we indulged in the brown butter cake with apples and double chocolate skillet, finding it impossible to choose just one dessert. Both were delightful and provided a perfect conclusion to a fantastic dining experience. With such impeccable service and culinary craftsmanship, we're already planning our return trip to BoccaLupo. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a culinary adventure!

Me and my boyfriend were looking forward to try this place, and it did not disappoint!! We were throughly impressed with the kitchen's craftsmanship from start to finish. He loved his old fashioned, and I ventured out with a cocktail that ended up having an unexpected licorice flavor. We tried multiple appetizers, but the ceviche blew our minds. Even though it's an Italian restaurant and it may not make sense in the moment, you have to get it. We ordered two pastas, one special and the black spaghetti. Although I really wanted to love the spaghetti, it desperately needed a tomato sauce to marry all of its flavors together. We ended the night with olive oil gelato and brown butter cake, and both were divine! We had some surprises and suggestions throughout the meal, but we were very impressed with its complex flavors and imaginative pairings. Being an upscale restaurant with a cozy atmosphere, it's an environment that cannot be topped in Atlanta. We will be back as soon as possible!

My friends and I had a great dining experience last night.
Our server was friendly and gave thoughtful recommendations. We ended up doing a family style meal that included the chef's tasting and 2 extra dishes. This was just enough food for 3 people. The flavor throughout the meal was immaculate. The chef's tasting got us out of our comfort zone and the dishes were great conversation starters. The house made pasta was perfection. It was nice to not be rushed and fully enjoy the 4-course format. We loved every aspect of this experience!

Best Italian food in Atlanta! Don't skip this place if you're in the area. The black spagetti and southern fried chicken parm are so perfect and unique, I still haven't found anything that compares. Friendly service and laid back atmosphere but definitely need a reservation before coming.
This place is one of the best.
From the food to the service it is 5 star all the way. My stomach always wants more and the food is divine. The recipes are out of this world and there is a reason it is hard to get a reservation. Do not deny yourself a chance to eat here. The ambiance will not disappoint either. ;)

Our waiter was great but the food was uninteresting and tasteless. spend your money elsewhere.

Ambiance was not the best as the two couples next to me were extremely loud and seemed to feel they owned the night to disturb everyone around them. Octopus was some of the best I've ever had. Cooked perfectly. Lamb tortellini was FANTASTIC. Mouthwatering delicious.I'd go back, but not sit at the bar. And I LOVE sitting at a bar.

Dined at Boccalupo for the first time on a Saturday and realized right away just how popular this spot is! We snagged a last minute Resy cancellation, but throughout the night the bar (which is first-come first-serve) had clusters of people waiting for open seats or who were waiting for a table as one of the restaurant's limited walk-in parties for the night. The atmosphere was intimate and cozy. We first got a rundown of their cocktail list by our server Abby (who was amazing!). They purposely keep their cocktail list a bit secretive, with just vague descriptions of each drink to not disclose what's actually in each one. They do this so it's more of a conversation between the servers and guests - guests can ask about drinks that seem intriguing to get more info, which was a fun touch to the menu. For food, we ordered the spicy meatball appetizer, the black spaghetti and carbonara pastas, and the cookies and white chocolate gelato for dessert. Everything was delicious! The black spaghetti is one of Boccalupo's signature dishes, with shrimp and spicy sausage, and it did not disappoint. Would highly recommend this spot (and a reservation)!

EXCEPTIONAL Italian food at this cool Inman Park spot.There are about 30 tables spread between a front room with a bar to the left, a center area with 4 tables and an enclosed patio in the back; outside doors closed on this cold winter evening. Decor is eclectic, the vibe is laid back and intimate. Always a good sign when the 5:30 reservations are at the the door anxiously waiting to be let in. We were among the first diners of the night and by the time we were being served every table was full. Our server, Austin took great care of us. Explained the menu, helped with choices, orders taken and delivered accurately and professionally with charm, character amd fun. THANK YOU.We started with meatballs and speck with drop biscuits. The meatballs are an homage to San Francisco's A-16, combining pork, beef and prosciutto with ricotta into scrumptious golf ball sized balls. Beautifully plated with each meatball topped with a ladle of rich pomodorro and adorned with a cheese crisp. The meatballs are separated by garlic crostini. Speck is lightly smoked ham. Similar to prosciutto bit a different texture. Several uber-thin slices are served surrounding a trio of fresh-from-the-oven drop biscuits. The plate is adorned with dollop of honey butter and apple mustard. A great contrast between the savory Speck, sweet butter and biscuit. Apple mustard, a totally unique flavor really pulls it all together.All of the pasta here is house made. I tried tagliatelle. It's served in a butter sauce with mushrooms and kale kimchi. Tagliatelle is a dream. Wide ribbons of eggy pasta, perfectly prepared. Not al dente, but firm and melts in your mouth. The earthy mushrooms and the tartness of the kale, blended with garlicky butter sauce. HOLY COW this was good.This is among the best Italian food I've had. Go To This Place. Recommended.

All around 5 star experience at BoccaLupo - came for dinner on a Saturday night during my first time visiting Atlanta. Coming from NY where there is no shortage of good food, I can't say enough good things about the food and service. Brian was our waiter and he was the nicest and helped to check a few times on options for my friend who has a gluten allergy. I Started with the What are you, the police? cocktail which was so good and light! Then we did a few apps, as well as the pasta tasting menu, which we split amongst the two of us without gluten allergies. The sampler was great and I'd highly recommended if it's available. We also added two additional pastas - I didn't love the dumplings as much but the spicy pasta w seafood is a must get. My friend got the risotto with seafood, another must order, also recommended sharing as it's quite rich for a whole dish. Overall, the food, ambiance and service was excellent and will definitely be back. Thanks Brian and BoccaLupo team for a delicious and memorable
Wow! What a place.
Neighborhood restaurant vibes and incredible food. Not a huge amount of vegetarian options if you don't eat fish, but worth it regardless. My favorite restaurant in Atlanta by far.

Woooow!!! Now, this is some fantastic Italian food! We came here because my husband received a gift card from someone who said it was their favorite restaurant. We thought we have nothing to lose since our meal was paid for. We made reservations (which is a must!) and headed over. We were immediately greeted and seated and the vibe of the place is just a vibe, I don't know another way of putting this. Our service for the evening was wonderful as our waiter was very attentive and did an amazing job of explaining the meals to us. Service was definitely 10/10.Let's talk about the food and drinks, shall we? For my drink, I ordered the Italian Trading Co. and this is one of the best drinks I have ever had!! It was the right amount of sweetness, tartness, and spiciness, that I love in a drink. Now they don't give you much, so I ordered two but dang it was so good! Side note: I don't drink much so my range of great drinks is limited :-) For my meal, I order the Pappardelle Bolognese, which many reviewers suggested and my hubby got the Chicken Parmesan. My meal was so scrumptious and did not need any salt. For those who don't like salt or seasoning, this is definitely not the dish for you, because I did NOT have to add anything to this meal! My husband's meal was great also, which would be the perfect meal for someone who loves flavor but not as much saltiness. Overall, I would love to return with my friends in the near future because their food and drinks have been calling me to come back!

I'm not sure if there is a better restaurant in Atlanta than BoccaLupo. I got their special which was a truffle pasta. And it was amazing. Their drinks are delicious. Their service is always spot on. Nothing you get will be disappointing. I love that I can just ask the server for recommendations and they will be able to tell me what I will like from the menu.

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to BoccaLupo Atlanta at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the BoccaLupo Atlanta page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* EternalAnt36, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* EternalAnt36 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to EternalAnt36 for any questions Peter may have as EternalAnt36 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* EternalAnt36 now uses their connections at BoccaLupo Atlanta to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If EternalAnt36 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, EternalAnt36 receives the $200 reward which is credited to EternalAnt36's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at BoccaLupo Atlanta!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
