Benoit Paris Reviews from The Last Year
Great experience overall
The service was excellent and fun to experience. The food was of high quality and some of it was delicious. Some could be improved. They were knowledgeable about gluten free needs and had several options.
Belle époque style
Classic traditional bistro style with dishes of historic standards with an eye on nuanced creative touches. Wine to induce a discerning taste to explore with the help of the young, enthusiastic wine steward. Tables are close which can lead to conversation between tables, as appropriate. Great evening with a belle epoque atmosphere.
Highly priced superior bistro food
Traditional bistro menu but elevated cooking with elegant service. The paté en croute excellent and we shared the turbot (had decided to anyway but quite an upsell from the waiter). It was good (the beurre blanc even better) but I suspect the turbot was farmed - quite small. It is eye-waveringly expensive to eat here and agree with others that doesn't really reach the 1 star Michelin standard.
Upscale traditional bistro, worth the Michelin star.
Upscale traditional bistro. Blood pudding was a flavorful standout. Very pretty ambiance in a historical building. Overall the food was slightly disappointing for a Michelin star restaurant, indistinguishable from a hundred other bistros in Paris. Service was correct and professional but lacked any personality or elan. EDIT: Returned a month later and it was a good improvement! Food was excellent, eggs mimosas had a smooth and vibrant flavor. Ox cheeks ravioli was intense and rich that was a quite delicious. All of our desserts were tasty with the Armagnac Savarin perfect! Service was excellent, the sommelier in particular made a brilliant recommendation and had the elan and personality that was essential for this quality of restaurant! Raised up to a five star review based on this experience.
Good execution
Traditional menu with good execution, service was efficient and ambience was charming. That said, just couldn’t find anything particularly memorable about our dinner. You can’t go wrong here but you won’t hit it out of the park either ;)
Had a reservation for 9:45pm.
They cancelled as we walked up saying "kitchen closed at 9:00pm." Maybe update your own booking platform? Just a suggestion. 0 stars.
Good but not Great
The staff was friendly and attentive. Like some of the other reviews we found the food good, but not exceptional. My daughter couldn’t eat her filet of beef because it was so tough and tasteless. My wife found her sea bass fair but didn’t finish it as we make better at home. The rest of the meal was quite good. Ultimately the best part is their desert and I highly recommend the profiteroles and Millefeuille. Oddly, we also had some small flies join us at dinner like another reviewer mentioned. Very good French Brasserie, but I’m not sure it’s worth a Michelin star having ate at others.
Incredible food, remarkable service.
Everything you'd expect from a Michelin star restaurant. We will be back for sure!
Sorry but not holding up - the Cassoulet is tired - BENOIT
Sorry but not holding up - the Cassoulet is tired - BENOIT NYC is surprisingly better - staff lovely here - some dishes quite good but CASSOULET in Paris? Try a bit more?
Great inside, beautifully decorated.
Food was pretty great and uniquely made! Service was also very wonderful. Everyone was super nice!
Authentic French cuisine in Paris
I visited Paris first time with my husband, have been recommended from friend who live in Paris that Benoit is one of the very great restaurants to visit. I have lunch menu, includes starter , main and desserts. All dishes were so delicious. Friendly staffs, original French style including restaurant decoration. Recommend to reserve only!
Nothing works in this “institution”
Benoit supposed to be an institution. Based on the last year Allard experience, which was superb, we came relaxed and being sure that at least we would have nice lunch. To summarize: nothing was not even close to what would you expect from a no name restaurent, what even from Ducasse brandname. It took 40 minutes to get the first glass of wine. No aperitifs offered. We had to ask them to take our coats. First courses were… well, like they would have been prepared somewhere and brought to our table. Main courses as well. Calf head was ok, but nothing else. Casoulette was a disgrace… To make a caserolle tasteless, that is almost impossible… How could they do a tasteless caserolle, we still do not understand. And so on; not to repeat myself. The wine was excellent, but… the first sommelier came back that they do not have the bottle we ordered… And five minutes later another sommelier came with the bottle that we ordered. ??? Ducasse??? I had a glass of red wine for my main, served in the same glass as for the white wine??? And ,,, and,,, and,,,
Thieves
So disappointed. Came for mother in laws birthday, which was mentioned in the notes. They never brought it up and did nothing for it. I left a folio that contained $2400 along with visas and vaccination cards. They admitted to finding it the same evening we had lunch, but mysteriously could not find it in the morning. The police showed up to the restaurant and they scrambled today, but still did not provide the wallet. The director blamed us for not discovering it sooner even though it was less than 24 hours. An official report was filed with the commissary this evening and they will be further investigated. A Michelin star means nothing. This ruined my vacation. If nothing else, support honest establishments. This is not one of them.

This restaurant has a Michellin star so it has the excellent service you'd expect. You will need to reserve a spot - I don't think they were accepting walkins (on the weekday lunch I went to). I got their lunch special, which had a starter main and dessert for just 42 euros. I definitely thought this was an excellent value. The food was very tasty and had excellent traditional French food options. The restaurant itself is also very cute - it is decorated very well and it's a great ambiance for a nice relaxing meal. I would highly recommend the lunch special for anyone who wants a good meal at a reasonable price.
Michelin starred Alain Ducasse restaurant, so when in
Michelin starred Alain Ducasse restaurant, so when in Paris, you have to try. Food was classic french bistro. Honestly, a little underwhelming in comparison to other highly rated fresh bistros, particularly when you compare against Michelin star places (at least compared to 1 Star Michelins in DC and NYC). Service was slow compared to other "higher end" french bistros in Paris. The escargot was way too hot and burnt, so the flavor died out. Steak was great actually. Price was pretty good to be honest. So decent value.
Honestly such a meh experience.
The restaurant is cute, very traditional French. They offer an extensive wine list and their sommelier is really knowledgeable/helpful. The food itself was just ok - the escargot was good, but nothing special. Same goes for the fish of the day for 2 (it was sea bass). The dessert that was recommended by our waiter was dry, bland, and left a lot to be desired. The ladies room was out of toilet paper - not acceptable for a Michelin. All in all, we visited several fantastic restaurants in Paris, we'd skip this one next time.
Had a lovely time here.
Service was great and everyone was super attentive. I asked for recs and was recommended to try the black pudding, which I've never had before. It was pretty delicious and definitely unexpected. It was super crispy on the outside, which I loved and went well with the mashed. My only complaint would be if took a little while for the main course to come out. Other than that, I thought the food tasted great and service was good.

It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
