Finally stop by for dinner on our last night here in Manhattan. I got sea bass it is perfectly cooked, just need sauce in my opinion. My bf got his ribeye medium it s a bit burn but still ok. Under seasoning in my opinion. Service is absolutely 100% perfect!! Great wine and place is classy. Perfect for date night.

Let me start by saying this was the worst "high end" restaurant that I've ever been to. The staff was rude and inattentive, food was lacking flavor, and the whole experience was lack luster. We had terrible service by the waiter. Perhaps our attire was too casual for them or maybe it's because we were a table of only females. I would not normally think that, but we were definitely not treated the same as the two tables near us. The drunken table behind us, full of men in suits and women in skimpy dresses, seemed to be treated just fine and so did the techy solo man seated next to us. Just as one example, the waiter brought us tap water and did not offer anything else; a bit later he asked the man next to us if he'd like tap water, bottled water, or anything else to drink. That man's food also came out almost immediately, while ours took an extremely long time to come out. The waiter had an attitude and rarely came around to check on us, acting like everything was a bother. The setting was very unwelcoming and uncomfortable. Not sure what the problem was (sexist or classist) but it is unacceptable for a restaurant of this cost to act that way. Additionally the food needed more seasoning and it was very unimpressive for the price. The fish was also not cooked how I ordered it... and it was cut up, so there should not have been any confusion with the cook level. Please don't waste your money here.

Came with my family for restaurant week on a Sat night, definitely a busy time, that is to be expected. Lobster bisque was thick and creamy, scottish salmon tartare was really good, pleasantly surprised by it, huge bone-in ribeye, perfectly cooked and seasoned, so was the filet mignon. The steak fries were crispy, the mash and creamed spinach was smooth. The brussel sprouts a little on the salty side. Great house steak sauce. Steak knives need to be sharpened, they were so dull. Our waiter was great and accommodating. It did get hard to get some service towards the end of the meal for water and take out boxes but again, it was a busy night so, gotta cut them some slack. Interior decor is nice & clean, comfy seats, not too dimly lit. Personally don't like it when I can't see my food or who I'm dining with!

I came here with my partner and his mom for dinner during restaurant week and it was ok. The place is clean and very much has a steakhouse vibe. We were seated by the windows and the curtains kept drifting over and brushing the back of my head. When we asked if there's something we can do about keeping the curtain away, our waiter said "no" and walked away. The service was a bit cold. The food came quickly but we had to keep actively seeking out the staff for questions about the food and to get drinks. And each time our waiter would come, he would look like we were the biggest nuisance. I started with the grilled calamari (too salty but otherwise good). The sirloin was perfectly cooked to a medium rare but was lacking in flavor. The ribeye that my partner got was delicious! The chocolate cake at the end was rich and creamy.

The steak, buratta, brussel sprouts, calamari and Caesar salad our group had were all excellent. Service was wonderful too. Only thing I was not crazy about was the chocolate mousse cake. Loved that restaurant was spacious and tables not on top of each other.
Be the first to ReplyMuch better steakhouses in the city for the money.
Good but not great. I would go somewhere else. I don't feel a need to go back again.

Decided to go here for the $70 3 course price fixe menu and wow. The food was incredible from start to finish. You can't beat the deal for the amount and quality of the food. There were even options for vegetarians on the menu that looked equally as tasty. The location is just a 5 min walk from Grand Central and gives the classic NY steakhouse energy. Definitely worth a try if you want to splurge, or go for a deal like myself.

Everything was PERFECT - except me; I was late. More than 35 minutes late! They couldn't have been nicer; held the table for a group of us. Wonderful porterhouse, big drinks, delicious vegetables, yummy desserts and all well paced with no rush. I wish I remembered our waiter's name (those big drinks!) but I can tell you he took really terrific care of us. We will be back!

Everyone was super attentive from the moment we walked into the restaurant until we left. We had the pleasure of having Jet take care of us. He had wonderful suggestions from wines all the way to deserts. He even had some suggestions for us for places to visit since it was our first time in New York with our children. The entire staff made our dinner so enjoyable. The food was amazing but Jet made the meal even better.

My Fiancé and I live in Rockland County and on a last minute fluke decision decided to take the metro north into the city. When we got off the train we asked Siri for the closet Steakhouse and Siri mentioned Benjamin's Steakhouse. Off we went and from the moment we walked in, Mario's warm welcome set the bar. Now allow me to say we fine dine often, so we have high expectations pertaining to exemplary service. I can honestly say Mike's attentiveness and beating our anticipated needs surpassed our expectations. To accompany the Great service, the food was next level delicious! From our apps (I had the lobster bisque, he had oysters), to the entrees (we both had ribeyes, loaded baked potatoes and asparagus). Absolutely Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection! Due to the generous portions of food, we were unable to eat everything and Mike's charming partner Piccolino was right there to perfectly pack everything for us. For desert we had cappuccinos and shared the cheesecake. I don't know which was better, how fresh and Delectable the cheesecake was or how beautifully decorated the plate it was served on? All in all, I can say though it was a fluke how we happened to end up there, we have Never been more Pleasantly pleased with a last minute dining decision. Along with being Very impressed with everyone's service we are Definitely looking forward to returning and seeing Mario, Mike and Piccolino again! We have made new friends that we felt we have known for years!

5 starsI've been to this restaurant a couple times. For my most recent visit, I came here with a group of three for dinner on a Sunday night around 6 PM. When I arrived, my group was not all present yet but they still gave us an option of sitting down at the table anyways. This is likely due to the fact that the restaurant was fairly empty at this time and still had a lot of available tables. They started off by giving us some rolls which were nice. The butter it came with was very flavorful and went well with the rolls. I just wish the rolls were warm when they were served. Afterwards, we shared a FILET MINON TARTARE. The quality of the meat was very nice. The flavor was ok, it was way too heavy on the truffle though. The toasted bread it came with really went well with the tartare as well, We also got a side of JUMBO LUMP CRABCAKE. The flavor of the crabcake was very well done, there was a lot of sauce in the bottom though which didn't really seem necessary. Additionally, I really wish they gave more than one medium sized crab cake for over 20 dollars. We got a PORTERHOUSE STEAK FOR THREE to share and it was huge. We ended up having so much left after our meal. The flavor was pretty good but it was a bit more undercooked than I would have liked it. We got some MASHED POTATOES and BRUSSEL SPROUTS on the side which were average but a nice accompaniment. The brussel sprouts were a bit too burnt for my taste though. For dessert we shared the MIXED BERRIES and MOLTEN CHOCOLATE LAVA CAKE. The berries were very fresh and came with a lot of whipped cream so it was a great finish for the meal. The lava cake was also very yummy and chocolatey and I also enjoyed it a lot. Service throughout the meal was very efficient and quick. Food came out at a reasonable pace. All in all, a nice steakhouse but unfortunately nothing too special compared to the many other options in the city.
Be the first to ReplyWe ended up doing breakfast steak.
Walking into the restaurant, we were the only ones since it was early. I really appreciated the ambiance. We sat right in front of the burning fireplace. The staff was very attentive and made sure to check in on us throughout the meal. The food was delicious! I got medium, and my husband had medium well steak. My husband likes his eggs scrambled, and I like mine over easy. Both steak and eggs were cooked exactly as ordered. The orange juice I ordered was typical, nothing special, but I found the individial mini jelly jars set on our table for our toasted bread, really cute.

Came with a group of ~20 people so I couldn't get pictures of all the food without looking like paparazzi. I'm not a huge steak fan, but I do enjoy it. For the longest time I've always liked Del Frisco's the most throughout the years, no matter where else I've tried, until this place. Steak perfectly seasoned, true medium rare, and tender. All the appetizers were good. As someone who wouldn't go out of my way to eat steak, I would for Benji's.

My husband and I were really looking forward to having our anniversary dinner at Benjamin's considering we're on vacation. We visited last year and completely loved the food. When arrived we were seated immediately. 15 minutes later they sat a man next to my husband that made question myself in picking this restaurant. The man kept loud burping. But apparently he's well know there. That man served him at once. Our waiter was okay. The mangers are very nice. The food though is not very good. The French onion soup was very bland absolutely no taste at all. Water with onions. I did asked them to take it back. The steaks were not cooked well at all. They had no seasoning at all the only taste they had was a burnt taste. I tried to make it taste somewhat better by using their sauce. Not even the sauce could make it taste better. Even the margarita my husband order was not good. It tasted like water with tequila. I did enjoyed the calamari it was delicious. We don't mind paying for good food but this food was not worth it. Ive had better steaks at a chain restaurant. I would never returned. I was so disappointed I just wanted to leave.

This place was recommended by our hotel concierge and wow it did not disappoint!! The wine list was miles long with great options. The food was absolutely incredible we split the porterhouse for 2 and had the grilled calamari and some other sides and everything was so good. The service was great and extremely attentive. Will definitely be coming back next time we're in the city.

Absolutely one of the best steakhouse in NYC! The steak was cooked perfectly and the ambiance is stellar. We came here for a celebration and they treated us like we were celebrities. I've been to here and their location in White Plains. They are both astounding and I will definitely come back
Be the first to ReplyBenjamin Steakhouse has always been my go to for NYC style
Benjamin Steakhouse has always been my go to for NYC style steak eatery. The original location is awesome, this place is just as good if not better. They use the best steaks from Kansas/Nebraska, aged to perfection and grilled precisely to your liking. The side dishes are next to none and luxury cruise ship like service level is hard to beat. If you're in the area, look no further. Cheers.

Had reservations for this place on a Tuesday night at 7:30 pm. Once we arrived, we immediately noticed how packed the place and there was a bunch of people waiting to be seated. We let the host know that we had arrived for our reservation, and were told to wait by the bar for a few minutes. We waited around 15 minutes, and then were taken to their upstairs dining area by one of the staff. The interior of the restaurant was dim and romantic, and staff were friendly and attentive. Lucking the place wasn't super loud so we were able to speak to one another without having to scream. It was Restaurant week so we decided to take advantage of that menu. We started with the lobster bisque and burrata. Both were delicious. Next we both got the NY strip steak for our entrees. Unfortunately it was underwhelming in my opinion. I was really excited for steak but, unfortunately it didn't live up to my steak standards. I've had way better steak in other places in NYC. We ended our meal with the chocolate mousse cake which was divine. Overall it r was a great Restaurant week deal for $60 (tax and tip not included) but, not a place I'd come back to for steak.

The service here was excellent. The steak I had was probably the best steak I have ever had, ever! If you are in the area and love steak, you have to visit!! Cooked to perfection and served sizzling. Sides were good too, as was the wine!

My friend who is a meat eater and myself I am a vegetarian came here during restaurant week. It's a very fancy place and we love the five star service. I strongly recommend coming here if you're looking for a special occasion or just to have a nice fancy dinner. The food is great even for vegetarian and it's worth to splurge once in a while.

Be the first to ReplyCame here on Valentines day and of course it was so hectic.
Got 2 of the Valentines specials, which was $99 for each, and the amount of food was abundant. Nice atmosphere even though tables were set very close to one another, which made the customers a little uncomfortable moving around. Staffs were super nice yet the service was a little off. I saw some waiters got lost didn't know what they were doing. But they really tried their best to accommodate us. Love the decorating rose on the table. Juicy steaks, very fresh oysters and tasty cheesecake. Plenty of great options for wine. I love the experience!
