Great ambience & beverages
Visiting bath tub had been on my list for a while. It was a hot night but it was refreshingly cool inside. We enjoyed some cocktails, wine & pizza and had a fantastic time. Highly recommend.

Be the first to ReplyKicked off 2024 with a bang!
Came for the new years eve party. Amazing evening. Taster style food service was great. Show was fantastic, and most of all the cocktails were fabulous. The serving staff worked their butts off to look after everyone and our waitress, Charity was terrific. Saw in the new year in style with dancing and champagne. Our favourite cocktail bar in NYC, we keep coming back.
Be the first to ReplySuper awesome Speakeasy!
We went to this fun Speakeasy with a reservation at when they open for the evening. At the magic hour, a staff will come out and let you in a group at a time. Through a secret door, a whole different world opens up before you. Dim lights and romantic antique decor, you are transported to the twenties. And true to their name, they have a bathtub in there. You can take all sorts of fun pictures with, in, or around this beautiful clawfoot bathtub. We sure did! For drinks, we each ordered a different cocktail. We got Giggle Juice, a mystery cocktail with egg white, Porterโs Tropical Old Tom Gin, and Bombay Premier Cru Gin & Matcha. Giggle Juice was very pineapple-y. Sweet but not overly sweet, tropical and fruity. So tasty! My husband loves a cocktails with egg white on top, so he asked about it. Our server recommended a cocktail that they can make, but not on the menu. It was really great! Porterโs Tropical Old Tom Gin was nice and tropical, refreshing, and with a little kick. Bombay Premier Cru Gin & Matcha had a nice hint of matcha flavor, but not so present. This one was elegant, fruity, and so tasty! They sure make amazing cocktails here!! For food, we ordered a few items to share. Truffle Agnolotti, Royale with Cheese, and Oysters Rockefeller. They were all amazingly delicious! We enjoyed them all so much, and the portion size was pretty nice too. Totally shareable. We were super happy with the quality, flavor, and the portion. We then ordered BTG Espresso Martini and Sโmores Old-Fashioned, we of course enjoyed both cocktails so much! We also added a couple of dishes, Wedge Salad and Shrimp Toast. We were once again amazed at how tasty they were, happily surprised! Since were having such an amazing time here, we decided to get some desserts to end the evening. We ordered NYC Cheesecake which was not your average cheesecake, and yes, delicious! The second item was Affogato, that came in a tea cup which was adorable, and then last but not least, Sโmores, which was a real deal, make-your-own-Sโmores experience. It was so much fun! Who knew you could roast your own marshmallow in a speakeasy??? This place rocked! We had a massive fun time here. The service was friendly, efficient, and we were always taken well care of. Once thing to note, the gratuity of 20% was added to our bill, which we were more than happy to oblige. The manager made sure that we were aware of it, so that we donโt add another 20%. Very considerate. All the drinks and food we had were really good, we were all happy and full. We would definitely go back for more fun time in the future!
Be the first to ReplyDon't touch the dancers, but the dancers might touch you!
A fabulous night. Miss Peekaboo Pointe and Miss Poison Ivory certainly lived up to the fine print on the ticket: Don't touch the dancers, but the dancers might touch you. This is a quality venue. Server was excellent, food value for money. Burlesque entertainment of the highest class. No surprise to find Miss Peekaboo Pointe has a master degree in the creative arts.
Be the first to ReplyAwesome place
This place is awesome! I went here with a friend trying to get away from the busy New York streets. The ambiance is quiet, the staff were friendly and extremely efficient and the drinks are mixed to perfection.
Be the first to ReplyGreat start, downhill from there!
The atmosphere as you walk in is totally period. The staff was attentive and fit the venue. The Ambiance was excellent, the music was 1920s, and the vibe was vintage. This lasted for about a half an hour until 8:00 when the music abruptly changed to loud modern techno, totally spoiling the ambience. We hung in there a little longer even though we couldn't talk over the music anymore, hoping that the live Jazz would be good. Unfortunately when the live music started it wasn't period jazz or even modern jazz and it was amplified in a room that was only about 30 by 30. Totally unnecessary and prevented any conversation. We asked for the check which for four small appetizers and six drinks was well over $200. And it should be noted that there was very little to the drinks both in size and alcohol quantity. The glasses were big but so full of ice there was very little actual cocktail. An incredibly disappointing experience.
Be the first to ReplyBurlesque Show was really great!
We came here to see some burlesque & the show was fantastic! We did however request good seats well in advance as we have never been and were on our honeymoon and got a table for 2 crammed in between some other tables for 2 that were extremely close to one another. There were 3 really good seats front and centre that they could have accommodated us with given we gave lots of notice with our reservation but had other people in them which was disappointing. Itโs an intimate small place that is quite dark & loud because everyone is so close to one another and trying to talk. The drinks were good and the food as well. Just wish they could have made our experience extra special.
Be the first to ReplyDef worth the visit to the bathtub!
Great vibe, good drinks and so much fun! Great spot to not miss! Love the bathtub . Great memory shots!
Be the first to ReplySo much fun!
Took a bunch of co-workers here right after a work event around the corner. As many reviews stated - it looks like a coffee shop. And in fact I walked past it in the daytime and you could order coffee there. The bouncers were really polite and since we were a tad early, they asked us to wait outside for a bit. Once inside, it was packed! There is a coat check and you're required to leave coats and bags there. It's free, but they do encourage a tip. We had a reservation and it took about 15 minutes once inside for our table to be ready. The bar area was really crowded, but we were able to get drinks and enjoy the music. We went on a Wednesday so it was a great band. They were so much fun. We were seated and our server was super friendly and really kept on top of things for us. The drinks were delicious. Many of us ordered food and while the menu is limited, the food was very good. The fries were the best I've had in a long time. And we just enjoyed the music. It's a very small club. The band was literally at our table with us, but we didn't mind. It was such a fun atmosphere. They do keep you to a certain period of time so you can waste away the whole evening there. And they do operate on reservations. My colleagues are still talking about what fun they had here.
Be the first to ReplyLA is great Too !
Not sure why the LA location doesn't show up on trip advisor searches But it should. Open just over a year ago, it too is a cool speak easy experience ...... in Los Angeles . Melrose street location , unmarked door beside a Blockbuster Video pop up bar - the upstairs atmosphere is perfectly done. The Gin collection is solid 30ish and growing according to the bartenders. Some hard to find Australian Gins. Food was good , entertainment entertaining and all staff exceptional. We really enjoyed a great evening. Shoot out to Erica who was a delightful server and knowledgeable about the Gins. Must make a reservation .
Be the first to ReplyMore varieties of gin than we could drink!
We totally enjoyed our experience here. We arrived at their 5 pm opening in hopes of beating some of the noise of a crowded venue- and we did. Service was friendly and prompt, the door man, hat check person, the waiter. He was knowledgeable and helpful about the many choices of gin from around the world. The table reservation was for 2 hours but there was the option of standing in the bar area if we wanted to stay longer. Our drinks were delicious and we had a wonderful time. Would definitely return- a reservation is necessary.
Be the first to ReplyMust do hidden gem
This is the kind of place that is unforgettable. An old speakeasy, quite far out from the main streets of Manhattan, hidden behind a coffee shop facade, we originally walked passed forgetting it was a hidden bar. The bar is everything I hoped it would be, 1920s vibes and decor and a friendly atmosphere. As I donโt drink I was initially worried by the drinks menu as no alcohol free options but the helpful waitress (whose name began with K) just kept bringing me different variations of mocktails from the bar-all of which were delicious. Had we not been full from our dinner we would have got some food here as it looked delicious and fun, particularly the sโmores. The best part of course was the Burlesque show. The dancers and the compรจre were brilliant and we just had a lot of fun. So random but such a brilliant and enjoyable evening, Will recommend this place to anyone going to NYC as such a hidden gem. Thanks for a great evening.
Be the first to ReplySwanky cool cocktail lounge
Bathtub Gin is one of the coolest settings one can imagine for a cocktail lounge. It's like time travelling back to the 1930s. Great setting and awesome drinks.
Be the first to ReplyMust go!
If you guys donโt know what are the speakeasy bars in New York, please go check it out Bathtub Gin. A very cool place. The owner Mark, is cool and gentle. Very particular bar of New York. Good food and good drinks. Silvio, from Italy/France.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect visit
We had the best time here for drinks. We were greeted by the friendliest door man and front of house gent (sorry we didnโt get your names). The door man had a good chat with us whilst we waited for space at the bar. We were then greeted by the front of house gent who asked about our holiday. We told we were celebrating our engagement that had happened whilst on holiday and they were so kind to us. We had the best experience. Mario the bar man was also incredible and made us feel so welcome. If you go to any bar in New York, make sure itโs this one!
Be the first to ReplyFirst time NYC and found a great night spot
My friend from Houston has never done NYC. We enjoyed several shows but the highlight of our trip was The Bathtub Gin night spot. The drinks and food are delicious and the music pumping. The General manager does a great job ensuring his customers are well taken care of and even greeted us personally. We are planning a return trip during the warmer months but a very quick cab ride from midtown gets you there in less than ten minutes. I highly recommend this spot for all age groups.
Be the first to ReplyYou MUST see the show
We were tipped off about this place and I am so grateful for the tip! We managed to reserve a table for the Burlesque show on a Sunday night and I can highly recommend it. My first time watching Burlesque and it was SO entertaining! The compare was hilarious and the girls were absolutely amazing! So confident, so body positive, the girls were so inspiring. Cocktails were really good with an extensive menu and the charcuterie was also very good. well worth a visit and I will definitely be returning in the future. A real gem.
Be the first to ReplySomething different!
Walked past the entrance two times, but then found the black entrance door. Cosy, dark and kind of mysterious ambiance inside, like a gentlemenโs club. Managed to get a table without reservation but we were lucky. Good cocktails but not the greatest. Nice live music!
Be the first to ReplyGreat drinks - and a bathroom attendant with Venmo!
No reservations, but they were able to seat us for 90 minutes for some drinks with friends. Loved the friendly bathroom attendant who was attentive without being in the way. Had a Venmo option for tips! We also enjoyed our banter with the reception /security staff when entering and exiting this great speakeasy.
Be the first to ReplyGreat drinks, good service, yummy fries!
Ok, it's not as super-secret as some other speakeasy bars around town. It's technically "hidden" behind a fake wall of a coffee shop but when we went the shop was closed and there was a bouncer at the outer door anyhow, so the "secret speakeasy" vibe was not really present.
However, the drinks were good and generously poured. About $18 ea, which is less than some other speakeasy establishments. If you like french fries, do order some here. I think they were made with truffle oil -- delish!
The vibe is lively and the place is nicely decorated. Of course they have a huge bathtub too, which you can sit in for pix.
It's a pretty tight space in the age of COVID, but it did feel like there was some air circulation going on. Still, most tables are very close to one another.
Loved it!
What an amazing find! From the outside we were a little 'put off' but as ever looks are deceiving. This feels like an old American speak easy - dark velvet wallpaper, old fashioned light shades... you get the picture. The bar has an amazing selection of gins and vodkas- the martinis are very good! The menu is small but the food is so good! The wine list has some fab Washington state chardonnay and pinot noir! This is a must if in NYC!
Be the first to ReplySolid Gin Collection and steak tartar good too.
Got to love a hidden Speakeasy ! Small, make a reso. Great space , takes you back in time . Limited food menu but interesting ...steak tartar very good.
Approx 70 Gins in the collection from around the world. Some Gin & Tonic cocktails on the menu but the bartenders very happy to discuss Gin and have you try different Gins.
So my 2 favorite things Gin and Steak Tartar what more could you ask for.
Mislead and intimidated
My wife and I were really looking forward to the unique atmosphere of a speakeasy and the Burlesque night. Here's a breakdown or our experience ...
The good:
The welcome and decor were great
The bad:
First: The Burlesque finished at 9:30pm, 15 mins before our booking. Bathtub is open until 2 or 3am and does not say or even hint the Burlesque finishes much earlier. So we did not see our main reason for booking. On politely complaining, there was strong bouncer-like push back suggesting it was our fault but eventually they conceded it was a common complaint and the owners were aware of the issue. I'll leave it to the reader to judge this review based on whether you see a helpful end time for their shows on their website today.
Second: To say the constant, unblinking stares from the two owners just a few feet away were intimidating is an understatement. What they were trying to achieve, I don't know. But if you fancy a night feeling uncomfortable, give Bathtub a go!
Fun Evening Out
Went on a burlesque night which was a hoot. Great compere who hit up good rapport with the audience, and four different dancers who certainly entertained. The bathtub in the middle of the floor made a good prop.
Great selection of gins, some slightly more unusual ones and some excellent ones.
The food is surprisingly good, was expecting fast food processed but instead the salad was fresh and crisp with a lovely vinaigrette.
