Came here for the happy hour oysters, left with a mostly full tummy of wine, oysters, and fish tacos. The TL;DR version of this review is I can't wait to come back for another dozen oysters and glass of wine. Happy hour is 5 (when they open) - 6:30pm, I'm not sure about the days but definitely on Thursday and I would guess weekdays. The big draw is $2 oysters of the day, and these were delicious. I'm pretty sure the oysters we ended up getting were from Fanny Bay (little muddled to hear but that's a household name for West Coast oysters so I am 90% sure). Comes with a delicious wine vinaigrette, cocktail sauce, lemons and limes. I've never tried an oyster with lime before, and still haven't because I downed my oysters with a lemon slice. They were so good. Everything I wanted for an oyster date night. Plus two glasses of wine ($9 vinho Verde or they have one red on happy hour too, $5 beer drafts). And then we were having such a good time that we split an order of the cod tacos ($12 for 2). These were really good. Lots of flavor. It was almost like there was guacamole on the bottom holding the fish (super juicy) to the tortilla and the mayo sauce was so flavorful. I added both salsas because I like to have all the sauces all the time. Next time I will order this for myself because I wanted more. We got there right when it opened, didn't have a reservation, so got seated at the bar. There was 30 minutes where it felt pretty busy but when we left at 6:30, it felt chill with space available. It looks like they have upstairs seating for larger groups. Four stars because the other menu offerings didn't speak to me as much but the two we ordered were fantastic. I'll be back to try more variety and update my rating accordingly.

All the food was spiced very nicely and was very flavorful! The portions were very small, even for the main dishes, but the seafood was delicious. We had a reservation and got seated immediately when we entered. The food was also brought out pretty fast after we ordered. Overall cute interior with dim lighting and candles at each table.

I absolutely loved this place! Of all the dishes I tried, I wasn't disappointed with the presentation or flavors of any. Personally, my favorites were the oysters and scallops. If you're a scallop lover like me, you definitely must try! The only drawback was that the "whole crab" wasn't a whole crab. We thought we would get more than what we did.

Our service was excellent! The food was delicious! The vibe was cool! Real truth though, I got a slice of pizza right after leaving. As impeccable as the flavors were, it did not satisfy my appetite, and I didn't want to order more for the price it costs. Definitely recommend for a larger group. And seriously, the flavor hits!
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best happy hour spots in the city!!! The best
One of the best happy hour spots in the city!!! The best part is their happy hour also applies on Saturdays, amazing. In love with the freshness of the oysters, also loved the flavors on the baked mussels and manila clams! My personal favorite was the scallop crudo, I'm such a sucker for scallops and light and citrusy sauce that compliments the sweetness of the scallop perfectly. Will definitely be back for that dish specifically. Ambiance is really cozy and dimly lit, great atmosphere for a girls night out or date night! Service can be somewhat slow and felt a bit chaotic, given all the tight spaces there were a few instances where the servers would ask us to watch out even though we didn't have a choice but to be seated at a corner table right near the stairs. Our server also ended up offering bread for the table the charged us for it... so be aware about that too.
Be the first to ReplyThis place has a great happy hour from 5:00-6:30.
We grabbed a dozen of the oyster of the day for $2 a pop and then sampled more oysters along the way. The mussels came on ice and were really plump and flavorful. It was a different flavor experience then your typical mussels which was fun. Also enjoyed the clams, cod tacos, chowder, and uni and crab toasts. Portions for the toasts were small but they added a piece of each for our party of three which was much appreciated. This place was bumping on a Thursday night. Super cute, big-eyed mermaid murals decorated the walls. Our server was the sweetest and genuinely a joy to be around. All in all a great spot to spend a pretty penny on an array of seafood delights and wash it down with champagne or wine.
Be the first to ReplyThis is the place to be for happy hour! My partner and I
This is the place to be for happy hour! My partner and I made a reservation for right at opening at 5pm on a Friday, and by 5:30 the place was already packed! We got the herb and jalapeno mussels, oysters, and the crispy cod tacos (and a $5 beer to boot). The tacos were delicious, and the cod was very light and flaky. The oysters were very fresh, if a bit on the small side. The mussels were absolutely the star player though, and had my partner and I raving about them the entire night. Would definitely return again!
Be the first to ReplyFood is delicious.
We sat upstairs which gets a little noisy when crowded. Aim for table downstairs.
Be the first to ReplyIt is one of my favorite places in the city.
Each dish had its flavors and was delicious and bold. There is nothing on the menu that I wouldn't order again. They also have a great selection of wines and beers.
Be the first to ReplySuper lovely special spot - we've been coming here since
Super lovely special spot - we've been coming here since they opened (in the original location downtown) w baby in tow & now she can order drinks w us. The awesome team at Bar Crudo has yet to steer us wrong.. The happy hour is quite literally the best in town if you skew towards seafood. It's the rare neighborhood gem that you're happy to hang out in on any given night, but performs equally well for all your special occasions, date nights, or for out-of-town guests. RARE. The vibe is warm & friendly without sacrificing professionalism and the quality is always stellar. A short list of our fave happy hour order: chowder w a side of bread & butter, a dozen oysters, the fish tacos & a chilled glass of vino verde - oops, just drooled on my phone.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for happy hour.
The oysters and mussels were solid. We enjoyed the Crudo sampler but would not get it again - the other entrees may have been more worth it. Nice ambiance on a rainy day. The staff was a bit sloppy with the finer details of service, but it was also a busy time. Butter luck next time. Iykyk.

Be the first to ReplyBar Crudo is a seafood lover's dream come true.
The sleek decor and dim lighting make it a good spot for a date or a night out with friends. The seafood at Bar Crudo is obviously the star of the show. The oysters are a must-try - they're always fresh and perfectly shucked. The raw bar is also a highlight, with a variety of ceviches and crudos that are beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. If you're in the mood for something heartier, the seafood chowder is a standout dish - it's rich and creamy with chunks of seafood in every bite.We were seated 30 minutes past our reservation which was a bit of a disappointment, and the service could have been better. However, despite the upscale atmosphere, the prices are reasonable for the quality of the food.Overall, Bar Crudo is an exceptional seafood restaurant that's definitely worth a visit. The oysters, raw bar, and seafood chowder are some of the best I've had, Whether you're a seafood aficionado or just looking for a great restaurant experience, Bar Crudo is a solid choice.
Be the first to ReplyBar Crudo is back, baby!!! It was good to see the place
Bar Crudo is back, baby!!! It was good to see the place buzzing on a Friday. Great local wines, fresh oysters and chill vibes. The crudo sampler continue to be one of my favorite dishes in SF.They've been amazingly consistent for 15 years, but there was a brief dip (during peak 'supply chain issues' 2022) when the seafood didn't quite hit the mark. This is no longer the case - they're once again one of the most reliable fresh seafood date spots in town, a true SF gem, and I'm so glad that they're back in peak form.

What a treat!! We got mussels, crispy tacos, and the crudo plate. The crudo plate was the highlight and we were especially impressed with the scallop and salmon crudo. Great happy hour deals too.
Be the first to ReplyReally bad experience at a restaurant I've been to now 5
Really bad experience at a restaurant I've been to now 5 times since 2017 and could once recommend wholeheartedly. Made reservations but they seated us 20 minutes late despite empty tables for two sitting idle. Our oysters arrived with one of 12 just a bare shell. How does that happen at a place dedicated to raw seafood?Service was inattentive, from very slow service to missing tableware to ignoring dropped napkins at our feet (come on, it's an upscale restaurant not McDonald's). The lobster beet salad was skimpy on lobster and mostly a big mass of beets. The two tacos we would have ordered were unavailable and the one we settled on was underwhelming, like something you'd eat at Pacific Catch. The mussels/clams stew was crazy salty and almost completely absent of broth. The branzino was a large fish and had interesting salsas, but was cooked soggy. I'm sympathetic to the plight of San Francisco restaurants post pandemic and appreciate the bill wasn't stuffed with extra surcharges. But something seems broken here.

Decided to stop by here on a Saturday for happy hour and it did not disappoint! We basically got everything on the happy hour menu - dozen oysters, shishito peppers, seafood clam chowder, fish tacos My favorite of the night were definitely the fish tacos and shishito peppers. Everything was great and loved the ambience of this place
Be the first to ReplyI was visiting SF.
My friend decided to introduce my first oyster here, and she knew what she was doing. It was fresh, sour, oceanic (maybe I am hyperbolic). This first experience would make me want to eat oyster again. We opted in for the mussels as well. And the mussels were dressed with flavors. It took a different turn than the oyster. But I was glad we tried it. If you like flavorful, creamy mussels try this.
Be the first to ReplyNice bar for a date Great friendly service.
Food was nice but not enough options.
Be the first to ReplyThe food here is to die for!! They have this seafood
The food here is to die for!! They have this seafood chowder soup that is so dang wonderful! If I lived in San Francisco, I would eat there every night! The prices of these small bites can quickly add up to a pricey meal. But the food is really really good. I hope I get back there soon!
Be the first to ReplyProbably my current top choice for happy hour oysters in
Probably my current top choice for happy hour oysters in the city. Great place to go after work and head to the emporium for games :)We ordered shishito peppers, oysters and some drinks. All around good! Quality of oysters were fresh. Shishito peppers were flavorful and service was prompt.I have recommended this place to a few people already and want to go back soon!
Be the first to ReplyFriend made reservations for a group of 5 on a Thursday
Friend made reservations for a group of 5 on a Thursday evening at 5pm. Once the majority of the group arrived we were seated on the mezzanine which has a beautiful view of the restaurant. We were there for happy hour so ordered solely off that menu. Food: Fish Tacos - really good, pretty large pieces of fried fish topped with a slaw, avocado and a crema sauce along with salsas and limes/lemons on the side, fish was well fried and not greasy, toppings were fresh and generous would definitely recommend getting an orderHerb & Jalapeno Marinated Mussels - super flavorful, refreshing savory, tart and not too spicy, comes in half dozen or a dozen to an order most mussels were medium to large size, pretty unique item in my opinion so worth tryingOysters - the daily special that was availible during happy hour were medium to small sized oysters that were quite salty and briney, oysters seemed very fresh but a bit too salty for our groups tasteChile Toreados - blistered shishito peppers served with aioli, pretty typical, nothing special but nice that there is a vegetable option during happy hourDrinks: Vino Verde - light crisp and refreshing, a great wine to go with the light seafoodAlvarado St Lager - nice light beer that also paired well with the happy hour menuService: pretty good, our server came to check on our table periodically which was nice, allowing us to order food and drink in waves which was great. Overall this place is great for happy hour, selection is a little limited but food and drink quality are great.
