Back here again today, havent been here in a long time.
When i last dined here, it started light to heavy flavours. Tonight, it has been an amazing journey with a balance of both light & dark flavors! I highly recommend the sake pairing, the restaurant will pair good sake to match with its spanish/japanese fusion! Mucho gracias chef pepe & team! Mui bueno!

Food was very good but portions on the $140 Singapore set menu were a joke. 5 people 2-3 drinks each (beer/wine) three of us had set menu and other two a la carte = $994 Singapore Dollars. My appetizer looked like they took it from another table mostly eaten - maybe 2 tablespoons of food.My other dishes (a clam dish and a tuna dish) were excellent but all in all not worth the money. When they pour wine you get a 1/2 glass compared to standard levels but pay full price - so no good will there either. They would do much better if customers felt less ripped off.

Been a while since I've gone out for a good meal, so may be biased, but I certainly would not have given this place anything less than a 4.For starters, my girlfriends and I came as a threesome. Not overly big eaters, but not birds. They did recommend not to over order to avoid wasting. That was nice. We ended up ordering 2 starters, to primi courses, and 2 main courses, between the 3 of us, and they split it up for us into separate plates, and even took note of special dietary restrictions - my friend ended up receiving slightly different plates for a couple of courses because of this, but we were more impressed by the attention to detail, and accommodation. I can't recall it all, but remember all to be delicious. From the menu:- tuna tartar- ebi ankimo tofu *- grilled octopus- beef tongue*- foie Gras pasta *- pork jowlThe 3 starred above I would consider must-trys!I would go again. And next time, to try the sake. Enjoy.

The food is mediocre and overpriced for the quantity, and to the certain extent the quality. There's a large sake selection so feel free to come here for that. The atmosphere isn't fabulous either...it feels empty and not in a good way. Food is way better elsewhere, i.e. Neon Pigeon, Brasserie Gavroche, etc.
Be the first to ReplyDon't know what the bad reviews were about.
This place is clearly one of the best restaurants in Singapore and a hidden gem. Can't go wrong ordering the Omakase set menu which included are all the favorite hits and definitely let the maitre d/ matron of the establishment pick a bottle of sake for you. Been my third time here in three trips and will definitely come back again!
Be the first to ReplyI had an amazing meal here.
I came solo and sat at the bar so I got to see the staff working hard. The owner told the cook to re-do my fish before it even came out because it was overdone. I had ocean trout with an amazing sherry beurre blanc and spinach. Seriously delicious (and I eat a lot of food). I couldn't resist the red berries dessert with a berry jelly, sake foam, and unbelievably addictive basil sorbet. Unexpected and delicious! Service was good, but the place is small. I disagree with the other reviews and would definitely recommend this place. I have lived in Spain, and it is not a traditional taperia, but that's not its intention.

With the hundreds of tapas bars sprouting all over the island, only a handful is worth your calories. Sadly, despite the raving reviews I've read about this place, it simply...fell short. We tried almost half of the menu:- joselito ham- asparagus with uni and burrata- fried baby squid with runny egg- charcoal grilled quail with foie gras dumpling- beef tatare- morel mushrooms rice with ebi- pasta 'a la plancha' with prawns and sake butterCan't remember the rest, and actually can't remember much about those listed either. All the dishes were just average and mediocre. While they all sounded interesting and enticing on the menu, the tastes were just a letdown. The morel mushroom dish was the only dish that I kind of liked. The sake element was played out in that they do have a sake cellar that they are more than happy to bring you in to pick your own sake. To be fair, we got a nice bottle of dry sake that was delightful, but that can hardly be credited to the restaurant. A chef once told me, fusion food can result in confusion. And I couldn't agree more in this case.
