Pre wedding arrival
We came to visit for 2 days before departing for our wedding in Greece. The staff was so incredibly kind and gave us a complimentary room upgrade thanks to Amex Platinum. The room, the decor and the staff were beyond 5 stars!! The shower was amazing, the bedding was amazing. We will come back to NY just to stay here again!
Be the first to ReplyToo much appearance than reality but with potential
My assessment is between average and very good. The Baccarat is priced in the upper segment even for New York. At the time of my trip, the Grand Classic King room was more expensive than the Chedi in Switzerland, 5 stars in Lech/Austria or the Sonnenalp in Germany, so my expectations were high. The porters on street level were all polite. In retrospect, I would make sure that my luggage was not left standing without staff on street level behind the entrance door while the porter on level 2 accompanied us to reception. There are usually 2 porters on the ground floor, but not at the moment of our arrival. I had expected that our room was not ready in the morning despite advance information about our early arrival. My request for a drinking glass with the small glass bottle of Evian water was also granted. I have never stood at a hotel reception with a (glass) bottle to my mouth to enjoy a welcome drink. The cappuccino in the bar that Instagrammers have surely shot to death tasted good at just under $20 per cup (including the usual tip), but Café Flo on St. Mark's Square in Venice seemed like a bargain in comparison. The fabrics of the sofas and armchairs show signs of wear, such as scuffed or already torn corners. Our room on the 9th floor faced 53rd Street with a view of the MoMa entrance and certainly offered a better view than on lower floors. The hotel goes up to the 12th floor. The room is sufficiently large, high quality, practical and tastefully furnished. Nevertheless, I called the technical service in the first few minutes, the refrigerator in a pretty bar with Baccarat glasses hummed so loudly that it drowned out the air conditioning and the friendly technician installed a switchable extension strip so that we could turn the refrigerator off at night. Special thanks to the young building technician at this point. He wanted to repair the incorrectly adjusted creaky cupboard door and the drawers with broken hinges at another time. The automatic blackout curtain was also defective and had already been torn out of its guide by other guests' manual operation. We had to manually pull and tug against the motor for 3 days before this problem was finally resolved on the last evening. Since the staff closes the curtains at turndown, housekeeping had definitely known about the defective curtain for a long time. The public can visit the hotel bar on the second floor and this is often used. External guests for the bar or restaurant use the same elevator as hotel guests who go to the swimming pool in the basement in their bathrobes. The swimming pool is long enough for sporty swimming, the jacuzzi next to it contains so much chlorine that your eyes burn after a short time. The fitness studio is adequately equipped. There is a steam bath in the respective changing rooms, but in my case it was only lukewarm. I did not use the spa area. I would like to highlight the in-house shop with Baccarat products, where Connor looks after visitors in an extremely friendly manner. The concierges at their desks opposite the reception neither noticed us, greeted us nor offered to help us. All in all, the hotel is not up to the standard it would like to be. There is a lot of room for improvement and every employee from the second floor upwards (except the building technician and Connor from the shop) should take a refresher course in dealing with paying guests. The spot on the sofa in front of the floor-to-ceiling window with a view of the street is very nice. Fresh air can be provided by opening a small window, a pleasant and rather rare option in hotel rooms in New York. The location on 53rd Street is perfect and the noise on the 9th floor is bearable with the window closed. As usual, the garbage collection is particularly loud at night.
Be the first to ReplyBEAUTIFUL HOTEL IN NEW YORK!
From the moment you enter the hotel - you know it will be something special! At reception/front desk we were greeted by Ishita, Tanbir and Matt who were so lovely. Coco took our luggage to our room and was so kind and the doormen Sam also had the best attitude. Our room was magnificent with luxurious linens and wonderful bathroom amenities. The hotel did not spare anything when designing their rooms. Housekeeping cleaned our room to perfection twice a day. We had a delicious breakfast each morning in the gorgeous restaurant adorned with Baccarat Chandeliers and red roses. Thank you to Sofija, and Alina for your attentive service. We had the pleasure of talking with their fabulous chef- Asher. He is truly a great person and has made the food at the Baccarat divine. The hotel has a complimentary car to take you to nearby locations. Thanks to Kevin the driver for providing great service. Thank you to Solomon at Front desk who gave us late check out when our flight was delayed. All the staff we encountered greeted us with a smile on their face. The General Manager- Rick Corcoran really knows how to run a fabulous hotel, where their guests are made to feel like royalty. There is a reason Forbes rated the Baccarat- 5 stars which is the highest rating. If you are looking for a magnificent hotel in New York, with beautiful accommodations, and delicious food then this should be your choice!
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing experience at a hotel with beautiful room
The rooms were the only highlight, offering spacious accommodations with a soothing, white-themed decor that provided a calming effect. The housekeeping staff deserve commendation for their meticulous attention. Unfortunately, the quality of the service with the rest of the hotel staff did not match the physical elegance of the hotel. It's evident the hotel is poorly managed, as interactions with the staff felt disjointed and underwhelming. Staff members were friendly but appeared to be inadequately trained for a five-star hotel. The fundamental issue is that the staff lacked any mindset to provide a memorable guest experience. Paying a top-tier rate for a hotel, I expected a level of service that matched the high cost. The value did not match the price paid, and I regret choosing this hotel, given the many other high-quality options available in NYC.
Be the first to ReplyGorgeous hotel with fantastic service
I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful and luxurious hotel. The Baccarat’s location is perfect, just off Fifth Avenue and very close to the Museum of Modern Art. The guest room was gorgeously decorated, spacious and quiet. Very comfortable bed. Lots of relaxing seating and attractive art. Plenty of storage space. Enormous marble bathroom with deep tub, rainfall shower and luxe amenities. Housekeeping is impeccable. The hotel’s lobby is breathtaking, with incredible chandeliers and striking art glass. Great food, both in the Grand Salon and in-room dining. The whole staff went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. I recommend the Baccarat enthusiastically!

HI, Just to inform you that our stay was not up to our expectations We were promised upgrade buy the reception and approved by the manager at front desk After an hour during my wedding she gave me the bad news, they changed and was not upgrading the room Following day Ishifa promised she would look in to it and get back to me Never did ! Went to spa Man’s side no soap , no shampoo Ladies side no shampoo, excessive MOLD on the shower curtain As for La Mer luxury creams that were supposed to be in the room, samples as previous had, but they were "out of stock" The room we stayed in the mirror was chipped Top end hotels don’t do this It’s not a motel 6 ! For what I paid i could have stayed at any hotel in New York such as Plaza, St Regis, Lowell, Ritz Carlton for the same costs or less and I am sure the services would be at a higher standard. I would also like to say that when I was leaving I spoke with Manager Solomon and at this point that conversation when no where. I stay at many hotels across the world and the poor maintenance of the property will surely be noted . Also my invoice for the stay was not sent to my email and I had to reach out to the American Express Platinum desk to request it. This is not a professional way to run a hotel
Be the first to ReplyThe Connaught in NY - beautiful
This hotel in many ways draws parallels to the Connaught in Mayfair, London, in that it's number one USP is the intimacy of service execution… and this they do extremely well. They understand their clients’ needs and wants, and anticipate at every corner - the hotel design being an eclectic mix of old and new which they pull off beautifully - catering for the more affluent side of society. Here's some feedback on the different segments of the hotel; Rooms: very well appointed, the mattress on the bed is not too soft and not too hard... just perfect, the linen must be around 800 thread count, almost velvet by touch. The accessories they provide in the room are beautifully presented, no expense to detail...with well thought through lighting which brings the room to life. Main Lounge: this is where generally meetings take place, and represents a quieter aspect to the hotel when compared to the bar. The ceiling is very high which provides an open and luxurious feel, the beams at ceiling level are mirrored on the faces giving the illusion that there is more space beyond the ceiling itself. The huge windows let the outside world into the room from a lighting perspective... yet you cannot see the buildings beyond, a very clever and modern way of not allowing the grey buildings beyond to be visible to the high end clients within. Bar: the bar at night comes to life, no standing room you either need a seat at bar or a seat at the table which prevents clogging and overcrowding… the management doing a great job of servicing the needs of the customers. It's appointed with a variety of art and colours which you would never think could be mixed together, but it works so well. Food: the food and the service that brings it is top notch, but it's not the cheapest of places... but if you have a room here then you are not looking at the F+B prices, you're enjoying the experience. Pool and gym: the pool here is just big enough, surrounded by cabanas so that you can relax in the warm surroundings giving you that holiday feel… relaxing. The gym is well appointed and catered for my needs well. Reception and ground staff: the staff on reception are super professional, as are the staff at the hotel entrance... these guys really do dance to the tune the Baccarat in terms of their behaviour and professionalism – wearing the brand on their sleeve. So everything here is super, super positive, but if you are a light sleeper like me...here's the downside. I was in room 505, on the 5th floor overlooking the rear of the building. This is great in terms of not getting any road noise, but there were two aspects that were problematic for me. Firstly, you could hear the elevator motors running very clearly in the room, they could have paid a little more attention to soundproofing the elevators shafts or the elevator motor room wherever the noise is coming from. Secondly, there was a repetitive throbbing noise, almost like an old engine on tick over, grabbing its breath - reverberating through the room...like the heartbeat of the hotel – very strange. Even wearing earplugs could not deal with this, because the sound almost comes through the bed, you don't just hear it but feel it. No idea what this is, to some people it could be therapeutic, to others it could be a problem. I have no doubt that there are quieter rooms, just be aware when you book the hotel… if you can sleep through anything this will not be a problem.
Be the first to ReplyStayed for Business, Mixed with a Romantic option for my SO
Currently my favorite hotel in NYC. A fan of The Pendry, Equinox, and a few others, but for when I travel with my SO, this will be my go to. We're heading back for Valentine's Day and they were able to obtain an impossible reservation for us at a restaurant we've been trying to get into. The service across the board was top notch and I highly recommend this for a romantic getaway, ideally if you need to mix this with business in midtown.

Beautiful hotel. The staff was so kind and accommodating. Especially Tanbir. Beautiful crystals everywhere. Great location. Great breakfast. The soap smelled amazing. Thank you for having us. Will be back.
Be the first to ReplyMichelin Quality High Tea
This is one of the best High Tea services I have ever experienced. Trust me, I travel all over the world for tea. There are so many choices of good tea. The scones and savory treats were so delicious. The setting of the ambiance was fantastic. They deserve a Michelin Star for Tea service if it was a such thing. It was a birthday well spent.
Be the first to ReplyUltimate Luxury, Yet Comfortable and Welcoming.
The entire staff was sincerely happy to help with anything. I especially appreciated only having one button to push on the phone to ask for anything… and of course the separate champagne button :) we had a suite with an adjoining room. The accommodations were opulently appointed, yet comfortable live-able for our 4 year old, infant, and my mother VERY special details in the rooms. Room service was always less than 30 minutes and the food was excellent. Natasha cleaned our rooms and was loving to our children and paid perfect attention to every detail. Rajae the concierge (and the whole team) helped organize everything we needed for our baby and a couple of dining experiences. Kelvin the doorman quickly became my 4 year old son’s best bud. The pool was attended by people who loved to help with our kids and provided incredible attention to our needs. The bar staff were happy and attentive despite being wildly busy. Definitely one of the fanciest hotels we’ve ever seen, and by far one of the most welcoming and well-attended hotels we’ve experienced.
Be the first to ReplyAfternoon Tea in NYC
Wow, just wow. Had the pleasure to have afternoon tea here, and it was absolutely spectacular. The service is fit royalty. The tea, the pastries and the sandwiches were absolutely fabulous. We had a table by the window and had a great view of the museum across the street. Words cannot describe the wonderful experience we had at this beautiful restaurant. I recommend a mimosa to go with the tea.
Be the first to ReplyExperience Parisian Hotel Glam Crowned with Crystal.
Centrally located in Midtown New York City, the Baccarat Hotel is directly opposite the Museum of Modern Art making it an art fan draw. This Parisian inspired hotel is flooded with millions of dollars of famed Baccarat crystal, some 15,000 pieces sprinkled about the hotel. I was delighted with my Grand Classis King room that was decked out with signature Baccarat crystal accents. The room embraced a city view, floor to ceiling windows, wood floors, sleek contemporary furniture and an assortment of high-tech room appliances. The bathroom was adorned with white marble with a walk-in shower. The Grand Salon restaurant views like an extravagant living room: full of red roses, crystal chandeliers and lots of sitting configurations. In the Grand Salon, I sipped coffee along side an order of Scottish Salmon for breakfast and for late mid-day I enjoyed Afternoon Tea and then I consumed inventive cocktails in the evening. Other hotel amenities include the La Mer, an indoor pool and a fitness center. So, If you would like a chance to live in a French crystal palace.....then try the ..............Baccarat ...... Be the first to ReplyPerfect stay in NYC!
This is hands down our favorite spot in NYC!! Every detail is magical but the staff is the the reason we keep coming back. We love everything about The Baccarat and we especially love Ishita, at the front desk, who makes every stay feel like most important and special. Our family made such special memories on our spring break trip and The Baccarat is a huge reason why. Can’t wait to return!!

Be the first to ReplyBeautiful Baccarat---the most luxurious, caring, elegant, attentive hotel experience world wide.
The Baccarat is the best hotel experience ever. It is second to none. I've traveled my entire life and the way in which you are cared for from Kelvin at the front door to Ishita at the front desk. To Freisha and Vittorio and Saliman in the Grand Salon. You will feel embraced the entire time you are there...kindness, elegance, beauty, care, all of it. I can't say enough. Just exquisite from morning 'til night...turndown service: exceptional.

Everything in this hotel is spotless and so well thought through. One can feel the passion that people have here. The quality of the place makes it worthwhile to spend a few extra days. Looking forward to return.
Be the first to ReplyIncredible Anniversary Staycation
Baccarat Hotel was everything I dreamed it to be and more. We chose to stay with them as a special treat for our 6 year anniversary. The team was lovely and welcoming, surprising my boyfriend and I with a small treat in our room as a congratulations! We arrived early because we had a 12:30 Afternoon Tea reservation at their Grand Salon (which was delicious by the way!). Our room was stunning and so comfortable. The details and presentation was top-notch. I love how the bathroom amenities are laid out! I can't wait to come back, it was truly an unforgettable stay.
Be the first to ReplyIncredible Hotel Experience
I love this hotel so much! I’m a hotel snob and it’s a bold statement coming from me but this was probably my favorite hotel stay. The hotel is obviously beautiful but the staff is really what makes it special. Their attention to detail in unmatched. Sophia at the front desk and Teddy in the bar were both incredible souls. Every staff member we encountered seemed to take so much pride in their work and truly seemed to love their jobs and that says a lot. I can’t think of a single negative thing to say. I should also mention the food and cocktails were fabulous and honestly I felt the prices were really reasonable for the quality. Some hotels charge a premium for subpar food & service but that’s not the case here. We will definitely be back! It will be hard to stay anywhere else in NYC after this.
Be the first to ReplyRude service
Visited the hotel for tea inn23rd February with some friends. We sat in the salon for tea and coffee. The service was very arrogant almost to suggest we were not welcome . I ordered an English Breakfast tea I received Assam instead. When I queried it the waiter simply said ‘it was the closest they had to English breakfast tea’. I explained I didn’t want Assam and asked to have it changed to an Earl Grey. The waiter simply said I’ll change it. There was no apology and his treatment was very dismissive and almost to say you have what we give you. We were staying at the Park Hyatt and have enjoyed drinks and afternoon tea at the Baccarat on many I occasions however following this recent visit I doubt I will be going back in a hurry. It was rude with no apology!

Elegant, friendly, warm at home feeling, in close proximity to the pulse of NYC. Very consistent on guest services.Always friendly but just enough to make you feel at home. I like low key sometimes and over the top sometimes. you can have your choice here and they do a great job on both sides of the spectrum. We really love staying here and the upgrade was beautiful as well. Thank you

Highly recommend staying here. A unique experience of a lifetime. I keep coming back for more. The service is of the utmost caliber and I feel like the staff here are like friends at this point. Coco in security went the extra mile to bring my mother and I iced coffees to our uber upon checkout because when grabbing our bags we mentioned we were in need of caffeine. It is service like this that truly sets Baccarat apart!

A beautiful hotel filled with magnificent crystal. Highly attentive service. Wonderful food in a setting lit by beautiful crystal chandeliers. The hot tub and salt water pool was invigorating and refreshing after a run in Central Park.

We had an exceptional dinner with my wife at the Baccarat hotel Grand Salon. The place is elegantly decorated with huge chandeliers and beautiful artwork, and the staff was beyond helpful. Chef Ali prepared the most delicious food and personally introduced us to the menu and history of the Baccarat hotel making it a very special night!
