Lovely place. Just a wee expensive.
Albert has a lovely ambience with a great wood fire smell as you first walk in. Specializes in wood fire grilled chicken. 30e for a quarter of a chicken … very good, but expensive. If you like a salad before your main course, order it first and separately. Otherwise, it comes with your main course.

We arrived on the early side with reservations and the restaurant was very quiet so we were a bit worried. It did fill in after 8:00 pm and became more lively. I will second another review about the amuse bouche being hurriedly brought to the table but it was delicious. We had a lovely waitress and excellent service.. a great bottle of wine and each bite we had was truly enjoyed. We went for the chicken but ended up with lamb and duck, both perfectly cooked. The sides are great and served like a steakhouse.. polenta a stand out. Monkfish appetizer was very good .
Be the first to ReplyParis is full of good restaurants. This isn't one of them.
We live part of the year in the same Paris neighborhood as the restaurant. Friends from the United States were visiting on a rainy night and, though we'd never been to the Atelier Maitre Albert, we thought it would a good choice. We were wrong. When we arrived there was no one to greet us and we were ignored for at least five minutes, though people kept running by, one of whom said she would be right back. It took a while; in the meantime it seemed that everyone who worked in the place was running. In short, we experienced a kind of uncontrolled chaos even before we were shown to our table. When we were seated I asked (I speak decent French) if there was a place to hang our coats. I was curtly told that "we don't have anything like that." Still without a greeting, an 'amuse bouche' was plunked on our table, which I must add had paper napkins accompanying the utensils. Paper napkins. After a long wait our server finally arrived and took our orders, including desert, which he insisted we must decide upon then, one of which when it arrived was not the one ordered. He seemed harried and distracted. Our English speaking friends had many questions, which he did his best to answer. Then he disappeared. I ordered a bottle of wine and, after an excessively long wait, it arrived. When our friend tasted the wine she wanted to know what the grape was. Our waiter didn't know; in fact he gave her the wrong information and later returned to correct it. After another long wait our food arrived. My wife had a fish dish that was cold and had to be returned to the kitchen. I had a small serving of tough duck breast. My friends had salmon and chicken. The most that could be said about the food is that it approached mediocrity but never achieved it. We did receive "a gift from the chef," which was a dish of cold mashed potatoes. All the while black clad servers raced around the dining room and the service was execrable. One of our friends actually had to grab the arm of our fleeing waiter to get salt and pepper and a second glass of wine for me. As the evening progressed our harried waiter found his sense of humor, but it wasn't enough to mitigate an otherwise awful and embarrassing experience--awful for reasons already noted and embarrassing because we had wanted to please our friends. This is not an inexpensive restaurant and the combination of bad food, bad service, and frenetic ambience is shocking.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food on the Left Bank
My friend and I were there for dinner; we were intrigued by the menu. Service was attentive and friendly. All of the food was fabulous. We got the rabbit appetizer, split the beef steak for two and got a salad and potatoes au gratin. We were comped some mashed potatoes. Every dish was perfectly done and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The room itself is very modern-looking with the vertical grill in the kitchen providing a great view of all of the dishes hanging in front of it as they're being cooked. But, there's a fireplace that dominates the room, and it gives the space a warmth and homey nature. It's definitely a pleasant space to enjoy a high-quality meal.
Be the first to ReplyRomantic evening with amazing food
My husband made reservations here to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary because it had a fireplace - without regard to the food. But the meal did not disappoint! The eclectic yet cozy atmosphere (medieval-roaring fireplace meets open modern kitchen), friendly helpful service, delicious food-creative sauces, wonderful bread, quality products, and a welcoming relaxed ambiance, all contributed to a special evening.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointed
Terribly disappointed by the contents of the plates in front of this very attractive restaurant! (Guy Savoy) As I read, in hindsight, in this column, my experience was marked by a mediocre dinner. The hardest part was putting up with the smoke from the wood in the fireplace! The asthma attack hit me last night. Poultry from Maine with a sauce, spinach mushroom gratin: it does not compete with poultry g simply prepared in the Bressan region……as a gift a mashed potato, both simple and not very creamy. A bland starter made with carrot cream and salmon…. Cheese: Comté, quince jam: Mure-Ravaud in Grenoble surely makes us very demanding!: (The mountain pastures) Will I return? certainly not.
Be the first to ReplyA timeless place, generous cuisine
A timeless place, old stones which are there to tell us their story, a fireplace which makes the place warm! Cuisine made with good, tasty and delicious products. The scallop, the prime rib, the spinach with mushrooms, the generous salad, and the little gift from home, a good creamy mash. Everything is done to have a good, friendly evening. However, there is a lack of good manners in terms of service, delicacy and refinement...

Ideal for celebrating as a couple 😍 sure not to be disappointed at Guy Savoy. Welcome, dishes, atmosphere, everything to please in perfect harmony from starter to dessert.
Be the first to ReplyWe can play with the name
Between three and four. It's quite pleasant and the welcome/service is pleasant. It's true that it changes a little depending on the number of people in the room. The fireplace is worth the detour. It is used sensibly, which means that you can be in front without worry. On the other hand, at the end of the evening, it is on its way out. The cuisine is correct/good but we could expect better with the prices displayed. It is possible to play a little surprise game with the name.
Be the first to ReplyHuge disappointment
Guy Savoy's restaurant inn we were expecting excellent bourgeois cuisine. Chicken liver salad correct but sadly seasoned, free-range poultry on a spit too dry (and much less good than my organic chicken at home), famous prime rib unavailable, grilled pork not very generous and much too fatty. Positive points: the good dauphinois gratin, the pineapple caramel cod fillet and the desserts. Rather sinister black paint decor and ambiance. No fire in the big fireplace.
Be the first to ReplyRomantic Stone Fireplace & Exceptional Country French Food
Primarily a grill and spit-roast meat restaurant but we also had the cod and it was delicious. The chicken was cooked perfectly as were the sides. The service was professional, attentive and friendly. Extensive wine list with plenty of excellent options under 100 euro. It was a cold and damp day in Paris and we were seated by the beautiful and romantic stone fireplace that added to our enjoyment of the meal.
Be the first to ReplyEnjoyable but expected more
We booked this restaurant based on the reviews and the Michelin Star ranking. Whilst enjoyable I was expecting to be more wowed. I had pork belly and my wife the veal. We shared a desert that looked great but was very sweet. I also had the spit roast apple which I didn’t find that special. Service was good and the setting lovely.
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding food and service
Primarily a grill and spit-roast meat restaurant with limited fish (but delicious) options. The meats were cooked perfectly and the (extra cost) side dishes were plentiful and well prepared. The service was excellent; professional, attentive and friendly. Given the type of restaurant the wine prices were moderate. One caveat: there is a smallish room with about 6 or 8 tables to the right as one enters the restaurant and a great room as one continues through from the entrance. The "great" room is large and the night we were there numerous groups at large tables created a deafening noise making conversation difficult. If one to be able to have a conversation with friends ask for the small room. Cost per couple was $145. Definitely recommended.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic meal in a beautiful setting
We visited this restaurant on our first night in Paris. After landing, we decided to start walking , and walked for hours seeing the sites. It was unusually warm for May, so it was such a pleasure to sit down in this quiet, cool and very romantic restaurant. Our waiter spoke English very well and was able to help me understand which options on the menu were gluten free. My husband And I both had the chicken …and it was truly outstanding! The most incredible chicken I think I’ve ever had! Great wine options, and even my dessert was done on the rotisserie…fruit that had been slow cooked, with homemade gelato. Incredible! We had a wonderful meal and would highly recommend this restaurant!

I don't speak a word of French beyond "please" and "thank you" but luckily for me one of the waiters there was extremely patient and helpful. Honestly, good service makes a great deal of difference in a restaurant. As a result, he recommended a nice wine to go with the very tasty meal we had. The amuse bouche they served started the meal off right and then my husband and I decided to split a starter of rabbit and asparagus in a puff pastry. It was delicious. We then shared the beef (for two) medium rare which was also good and well presented and came with two sides we were allowed to choose. The salad was fresh, the dressing good and potatoes au gratin tasty. We like beef medium rare and prefer it not to be overcooked but they are careful to ask because medium rare in Paris may be a bit rarer than others are used to eating. (We like it but they obviously want to please people by making sure you know what you’re getting.) I found the food and service good and the atmosphere has a warm, cozy feel.

I would give the restaurant 5 stars if…. Well food was brilliant - the ceviche a bit blend though but the salmon with fennel with orange was great. So was the dessert - a grilled apple with caramel ice cream. But .. plates came in too quick - no time to rest and digest. If one would get a bit more time between the plates - then the restaurant is perfect
