ARIARI New York Reviews from The Last Year

tiny space, hot place -- ariari def has some great dishes on its menu. we started with the scallops and that honestly brought our night to such a good start, they were sooo fresh and fun to assemble our own little mini handroll together. fried soft shell crab was also great -- super crunchy and paired well w the spicy mayo. the famed uni rice was honestly a let-down -- uni flavor didn't come thru but overall a good rice dish. the beef stew had really chewy beef which we didn't enjoy, and i think they could have stronger desserts. overall, great for their highlights but i don't think i'd come again.

The cocktails are wonderful and the service is super friendly and helpful. While essentially Korean, the food is not entirely traditional Korean. It is Asian fusion with Korean flavors, ingredients and techniques. The restaurant is very modern in style, although a bit small. Ariari is a good value for the money proposition as well. Go with a group so you can taste a wide variety of different dishes.
The food at Ariari is actually to die for.
I was able to get a table without a reservation, but that was nothing short of a miracle. I had the seafood stew, as well as the DIY scallop roll. The service is outstanding, and despite the small size of the restaurant, the vibe is really nice.

i've been trying to come here for ages and it was so worth the trip. i waited for reservations to open and snagged a corner table. we ordered what felt like everything on the menu. the stand outs were the soft shell crab and the raw scallops. we cant wait to come back and try everything else
Totally understand why reservations here fill up so quickly
Totally understand why reservations here fill up so quickly - the food is delicious! I made a reservation for Ariari right when the date opened up on Resy, and within the first few minutes, some of the time slots were taken already! But it is well worth the effort to make the resy. 2-3 plates are recommended per person, and the portions are decently sized for tapas. My friend and I split the DIY scallop gimbab with uni, yookhoe, fried soft shell crab, and the dolsot al-bab. There isn't really any banchan per se, but their kimchi is really well seasoned and tasty. DIY scallop gimbab was easily a favorite for me. The scallops & uni were both fresh, and I really enjoyed the DIY aspect. Yookhoe is well seasoned, fried soft shell crab is super crispy and tasty, and the dolsot al-bab just rounds it out perfectly with some carbs. Service here is A++. The staff allowed me sit inside first while waiting for my friend even though I've read that they try to stick to the 2-hr dining limit. Ambiance is cozy; the restaurant is actually smaller than I expected, which makes getting a resy a must. They do have an outside dining shed, but I much prefer being indoors!
Had reservation and was seated right away when we arrived.
Its our first time here, so we order the things that are familiar to us. Creme brulee, and seafood udon. But we wanted more, gladly the server was kind and help us with the menu. In addition, we had soft shell crab, beef su-yuk, and monk fish. All were good, but not anything so unique and mind blowing.

My family from New York took me here and my bro in law is originally from Busan so he's very particular for food and this restaurant is supposedly Busan inspired so we wanted to try it out, hands down one of the best Korean restaurants! It was not too much but just right, even if you're not very familiar with all these unusual Korean foods, you'll enjoy them. We had some spicy fish soup, normally they boil them with left over fish bones in Korea after you eat raw fish, their soup still had that very typical spice and taste but it wasn't too much. It was my favorite next time I'll definitely come back and try other dishes too. The servers were friendly and the atmosphere was nice. It felt like a small eatery in Korea.
Really cozy spot - delicious Korean food.
Definitely come with a group so you can order everything

We sat outside in a covered dining area and it was warm and cozy despite it being winter. Servers were very attentive and always filled up our waters or provided extra napkins when things got messy. ARIARI presents a creative spin on Korean flavors. We ordered the raw scallop create your own gimbap (with apple kimchi; I don't usually like apples but this was so good!), dolsot (creamy and roe provided a good texture), and fried soft shell crab (fried to perfection). Everything was delicious and I definitely want to come back to try other menu items!

Surprisingly, I was able to get a table without a reservation and without much of a wait. They recommended ~2 dishes per person to share, but my party of 3 was comfortably full with 5 dishes (though some of them were larger mains). They started us off with some homemade fresh kimchi salad, which was fresh Napa cabbage tossed in a spicy-creamy-kimchi sauce (not fermented). We also got the Yook-Hoe for starters, and it featured a beef tartare and (cooked) octopus in a sesame oil and topped with fried shallots. While I appreciated the seasoning and the chewiness of the meat, it felt like something was missing - perhaps a carrier like chips/bread/etc. I've never had duck bulgolgi and it was very tender. The sauce had a familiar gochujang taste instead of the classic bulgolgi sauce. The Dolsot Al-Bap was the star of the show! I normally don't love adding uni onto dishes because it can overshadow things, but this time, it definitely accentuated the thicc urchin cream. If you are a fan of fish roe, this dish is for you too! I only wish they had a little more seaweed in the mix. The Glazed Jang-Eo was a combination of a lightly battered and fried eel and eggplant, glazed in a sweet and sticky sauce. My only wish was that it had more eel pieces, as a large portion of pieces were eggplant. Lastly, the Hap-Cheon Pork Soup was a hearty, savory, umami soup with a light herbal taste and tender slices of different cuts of pork. Some might argue it is on the saltier side, but it was perfectly balanced for me. For drinks, the Kket-Nip was sweet and refreshing because of the incorporation of the perilla leaves. The Doraji was more on the bitter side, but it was still tasty overall. The restaurant itself had a homey and intimate vibe. Service was great and the servers were very attentive to our needs.

I believe this site to be a fraud. I paid $158 to get a reservation. Now they want my SS # and other private details in order to supposedly repay me.
