The service here was excellent.
The waiters were very friendly and responsive. When I was there, I walked in and it was a bunch of people in suits. Nothing wrong with people in suits, is just that's all it was.The food was really not what I expected. We have great steakhouses in the Midwest, so unfortunately this didn't compare to the food you find from Omaha to St. Paul to Chicago.Scallops were dreadfully overcooked. The tuna tartare was bland. My drink - the out of office - was a bit light on flavor. Sadly, the sea bass' accompanying sauce and condiments were bland. I'm from Minnesota - I know what bland is.Overall, the atmosphere might be flashy for business guys, but the food just was completely underwhelming, especially in New York.

Went for dinner with a bunch of folks. Had a reservation but they insisted on putting us at a table that was too small. Plenty of other seats and tables that would never be filled. I know this because it took 3 hours for dinner. It wasn't a leisurely pace they were just slow and inattentive. Menu was limited and I ordered a the filet mignon. It wasn't very good and I didn't bother finishing it. One of my friends ordered the duck which was a special and it was over cooked. The tuna tartare appetizer was good and so were there French fries . It was also expensive even for NYC. The filet was $75 and like I said, I didn't finish it.

Aretskys PatroonFriends and I went to this wonderful restaurant after reading so many stellar reviews. The great reviews are spot on, Aretskys Patroon is fantastic. First and foremost, the staff, (from the hostess/greeter to the host/owner to the waitstaff) are such accommodating, polished, warm and attentive professionals. We felt utterly welcomed and cared for from the moment we arrived until the moment we left (hours later). The staff anticipated our every need and the service was impeccably flawless. The menu has very appealing choices for everyone, (carnivores, pescatarians, vegetarians, keto and gluten free patrons... ALL have tasty options.) We opted to share the endive and radicchio salad with pear and blue cheese and grilled octopus as appetizers. Both were delicious. While red meat may be the star at Aretskys, we all opted for fish, and it was scrumptious. Most notable was the poached lobster and heart of palm "pasta" (delicious, low carb, keto friendly and gluten free.... FINALLY a smart chef is offering keto friendly "pasta".)The wine list is well curated and extensive. The cocktails are good. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the staff made our all female table feel extremely comfortable. Don't leave this great restaurant without having the beignets (one order was plenty as 4 tasty beignets with chocolate and vanilla sauces comprise an order). The truly incredible service, great food and pleasant ambiance make Aretskys Patroon a terrific restaurant and we can't wait to return!
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely one of my favorite spots in Manhattan.
I've been going here for decades and have never had a meal that I would describe as anything less than utterly scrumptious. The service is as good as any restaurant I've ever dined in anywhere in the world. Attentive, prompt, responsive when needed and always eager to enhance your experience without hovering or interrupting. Most recently we enjoyed oysters, a fabulous take on Crab Louie salad, Pan Seared Dover Sole with white asparagus, and we finished with the Beignets drenched in hot fudge with vanilla crème and the entire experience was spot on. We had the luxury of dining at the captain's table and all in all it was over the top in terms of service, cuisine and ambience. Just go.

I've been coming here for three months now and I absolutely love it. The food is incredible and the service is always great. I'm obsessed with their desear salad. You won't be disappointed with any meal.

I've come here for drinks or lunch on the roof a handful of times. The bar usually has a good amount of energy and the roof is great, especially in the summer. If you're looking for finance bros, look no further than the roof at around 6pm on any summer night.Last week I ate in the dining room for the first time and was very impressed. It was on par with any tier 1 steakhouse in the city. I had the burger (medium rare with peperjack cheese and bacon), which was incredible.

.... Patroon still manages to create that easy feeling. Elegant but not stuffy atmosphere, service attentive & personal, food still top notch. it's the holidays so we treated ourselves to the bay scallops one the of specials but they do all their fish dishes beautifully. Caesar salad & beignets never disappoint. We used to come here for business lunches but now a favorite dinner spot especially the rooftop in better weather.
Be the first to ReplyGreat atmosphere and even better menu and drink selection.
The aged ribeye steak for 2 was amazing. Also ask to try the homemade Oreos
Be the first to ReplyThis was for #RestaurantWeekSummer2019.
We have been here before and loved the food. We always order the Pomme Frites soufflés (parmesan and shaved truffles). House cut French Fries? Not sure if they still have this dish. We ordered from the prix fixe menu and a la carte. The waitstaff was so pleasant and knowledgeable. Shew knew her wines and definitely knew what we should try on the menu. Not sure if they still have Friday Night Specials but that night, we ordered the lobster. It was the most delicious lobster dish we all had. For $75 and the mini show of pouring the sauce onto the lobster....#tastyThe restaurant was clean and all the staff were professional. We are planning to go again.

Went for restaurant week but did not realize they only had the $125 special, not the $39. The rooftop area was beautiful and the service was excellent!! The food was OK but I felt over-priced (even for mid-town Manhattan). The sea bass was delicious, the ceasar salad was pretty bland. I feel like I paid $19 for romaine lettuce I had to cut up and then assemble a salad myself. The dressing and croutons were just OK - the brands I get from the supermarket are better..IJS! I went a la carte but my friend chose the $125 Restaurant Week deal but never got an Amuse Bouche! Also her steak was over-cooked and seasoned so-so. Overall it was a nice experience but doubt I would go back again. I feel it was overpriced for the value/quantity/flavor quality. I had Cuban the night before, spent $20, had leftovers and the flavors were amazing...so I may have been slightly jaded when writing this review :)
Be the first to ReplyThe rooftop bar/restaurant was HOT AS HADES.
Drinks and dinner at 6pm. Very pretty, I admit, but they need to find a better way to make the experience tolerable from a temperature perspective. To add to that, something happened with our order and it took forever to get our food. There are tons of great rooftop restaurants in NYC, and I will be going to those in the future.

Be the first to ReplyExtraordinary.
Impeccable food, obsessive attention to details, friendly and yet classy staff. One of the few recent experiences in which nothing, absolutely nothing, was out of place or uncomfortable. Expensive, but well worth it.

I reserved our table two weeks in advance out of excited anticipation. We were seated inside on the rooftop with nice views outside and a short travel distance from the bar. Dress code is business casual but everyone was dressed to impress. You should do the same. We started with drinks (I liked the smoky Blood Shot cocktail) and nibbled on the complimentary baked parmesan crackers. I ordered a few things so as to get a feel for the menu, and after a short wait, food began arriving. I opened with the Caesar salad, having heard good things. It is indeed a worthy salad, full of crunchy romaine, though the amount of dressing was a bit overzealous. In the future, I'll remember to order it on the side. Next, the filet mignon, medium-rare. The steaks are grilled with a thick char that locks in the juices and flavor. Fork and knife allowed me to easily slice off mouthwatering chunks of meat. I tried the house steak sauce, which is agreeable, but I preferred the steak by itself. On the side, onion rings and potato puree. The rings are housemade and delightful, not too thick or greasy, with genuine onion inside. The potato puree was buttery and blood-thickening, a rich pairing for any main course. I was tempted to also order the asparagus, but this was already A LOT of food, so I made do. The service was impeccable and my guests were similarly impressed with their experiences. Patroon is an excellent choice for special occasions, fancy-but-not-too-fancy get-togethers, marriage proposals, etc. It's a classy joint, so wear something dazzling, and tip well. For a walk on the lavish side, Patroon is the path.
Be the first to ReplyFabulous rooftop.
The staff waits on you hand and foot. Our favorite thing about it was that they sat us right in front of the view. The beignets were amazing, the wine was on point.
