We went to the Aqua Shard on the 32nd floor for afternoon
We went to the Aqua Shard on the 32nd floor for afternoon tea. The food is ok, the dessert very good, the service excellent and the view absolutely amazing! The atmosphere is cozy. Definitely go for the view, since with good weather, it is truly amazing!
Be the first to ReplyWe showed up a good 20 minutes early for our afternoon tea
We showed up a good 20 minutes early for our afternoon tea time reservation at 3:15. They don't really have a waiting area so they sat us at a "waiting table" for about 20 minutes. Not to worry if you do the same as they seem to do this with everyone. We were sat at a nice cozy booth which actually had great views of the London eye.Once called for our table, we moved to the other side of the building which provided great views of the Tower of London and the surrounding areas. There were two adults and 1 child in our party for the Peter Pan Tea Time. They asked us if we wanted a tea time serving for our daughter or if we wanted to just have her share with us.Our little one is 8, however, I do not recall up to what age they said you can do this for. We opted for a separate serving for her and are actually glad we did. While she still had plenty of left over, the serving size is just right for an adult. Sharing with another may leave you a little hungry. First came out the savory selection and sandwiches on a plate. I personally liked the baked pig which really just tasted like a sausage. My daughter was tricked by the codfish Captain Hook because it looks like it could be a tasty dessert (this is the item on the dish that looks like it could be a red coconut snowball). Surprisingly she liked it and I was glad she tried it.I actually enjoyed it myself and I am not a big seafood person. I also liked the little bird sandwich which tasted like an egg sandwich. Next up was the long awaited pirate ship! It was set in front of us and as our waitress went to go grab the little kettle of water that gets poured into the bottom to make the ship "steam" we took our pictures and ooed and awed over it. As the water was put in our little one was told to close her eyes, make a wish, and open her eyes to the ship bellowing in fog/smoke.I regret telling her about this before coming to London because it wasn't as much of a surprise.Regardless, she was still looking forward to it and was still very impressed. Now onto the desserts-I didn't think the scones would be exciting but I was quite wrong. I had two of the vanilla scones that came out in a treasure chest. They were nice and warm (which is how I like all my bread). The mammee-apple jam was so good and the coconut clotted cream was nice and light (think of a nice light butter taste).Peter Pan's Secret Never tree (the chocolate cake/mousse) was a bit heavy, but still good. Hooks perish cake was a nice, light cake and the Tinker Bell biscuit (cookie) was good when dipped in the raspberry tea jelly that came with Tick Tock Croc. Overall, a pretty great experience. It costs a pretty penny but it is one of those things you should try at least once. FYI-We were told that the Peter Pan Tea Time changes to a different theme come next month (April 2023) and is suppose to be better. Should be interesting to see what theme they come out with next!

Had a great meal here. We came 10 minutes before our time slot and were seated at the bar and served drinks while we waited. We were seated right on time and service was pleasant and quick. The food was great! Had the salmon, hake and chocolate dessert. The view was also a great view and they had relaxing music playing in the background. Overall, I was satisfied with the entire experience.
Be the first to ReplyGreat views.
Skip the dining-just go for a cocktail, it will be worth it if you enjoy views of London.
Be the first to ReplyI'll have to say I was very surprised to see this place
I'll have to say I was very surprised to see this place only rated a 3-star from Yelp. It's rated higher on other platforms, and for good reason. This place is a must-see when visiting the London area. Reservations are strongly recommended. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, from the coat check station to the host station, to the servers, and kitchen staff. We got seated right next to the window with just amazing views. It's a bit dark inside the restaurant and we had to use our phone flashlights in order to see the menus, but this is likely for a reason so that you can enjoy the breathtaking views of the cityscape all lit up at night.Food presentation is like a piece of artwork, crafted to perfection. The Shard dessert is a great example of what I mean. Portion size is a bit on the small side, but I suppose it's right on par with other high class restaurants. This will possibly be the only time I would every include the restrooms in a review, but like seriously the restrooms are just amazing. Everything in the men's room actually faces the outside so you can enjoy the views while conducting your business.Definitely glad to have come here. I would highly recommend this place.

Where does one begin? I made a reservation weeks before and had noted a request for "best table".They gave us had an obstructed view. The host told us they still need to seat those at the bar waiting for walk-in. I told her I had made this reservation weeks ago and why are we competing with walk-in customers? Then she hesitated to move us in fear as her "colleague might get upset". It made us question this institution's priorities. After ordering drinks, our waitress came back 10 mins later to tell us the beverage has sold out. After ordering a second time, she came back and told us 3 more of the cocktails were sold out, so we had to order a third time. It had been about 15-20 mins later before we got our drinks. Why is our waitress not informed to begin with? The presentation of the food was beautiful but the taste was sub-par and absent.I had asked to speak with the manager, Cesare Stoytchew, who profusely apologized but made no accommodations or adjustments. After reminding him it was my friend's birthday (it was already noted on the reservation), he had a dessert sent. I requested for a glass of champagne (at the least this should be able to be arranged) and the birthday treat arrived without it and without any utensils or candles...Worst dining experience. Would not recommend
Be the first to ReplyIf you want to enjoy the view, come before your reservation
If you want to enjoy the view, come before your reservation time, so you can secure a seat by the window. If you want to actually enjoy the food, don't come! This place does not serve edible food. They have a limited menu of approximately 5 starters, entrees, and 2 desserts. Although, they have a plethora of drinks. Their strategy seems to be getting you drunk enough to where you won't realize they can't cook. We made a reservation a couple weeks before our trip. We did not receive an email confirmation or text. We had to call the restaurant the day of to ensure we still had a booking. Thankfully we did! Their website states they suggest casual business attire. However, there were a mix of dress codes, from overly dressed (gowns) to underdressed (sweats and sneakers). They didn't seem to deny anyone access, so wear what you want. We started off with drinks: Mistletoe Margarita. It tasted like betel leaf in a cup. Skip it. We ordered the Red Chili Prawn Carpaccio, which was dis-gusting! The prawns were pureed and spread flat on the plate next to a long piece of salted bread. We also ordered the Pumpkin Ravioli and Halibut as that's all we could order. Everything else included beef or veal. The ravioli was sweet. Eww! The halibut was such a tiny portion that you need 5 more to fill you. The food was so horrible we couldn't even enjoy the view. We pretty much laughed all night because we were astonished at the quality and quantity of the food provided. A nice location doesn't make up for such a poor experience. They get a two because the ambience and array of staff were pleasant.
Be the first to ReplyHarsh critics out there but you didn't mention their two
Harsh critics out there but you didn't mention their two flaws. One, they sat me in a kids chair and I'm over 6 feet tall!Second, they explained the Peter Pan Tea in a low voice and it was hard to hear. However, don't tell this last fact to the labor board - they only hire young people in the front of house -old people need not apply.

Came here with a group of 5 people and got drinks and 5 appetizers at the bar. Once we were seated we ordered more drinks 1-2 per person and apps, several sides and split 2 entrees between 5 people. Our server told us it was required to order more food but we were not very hungry due to apps at the bar. Then the manager came over and told us the same things and said due to our "small" order we were only allowed to sit for 60 mins and they would need to rush all our food at the same time (apps, salads and entrees to come together). We spent over $100 per person and were treated so badly. I would never come back. Totally ruined our vibe. We were having so much fun at the bar, then this treatment was so off putting.
Be the first to ReplyFirst time in London for my wife and I.
We were heading to the London Bridge and our driver mentioned the Shard. So, we went to the Aqua at around 4:45 and was asked if we had reservations. We didn't. They allowed us to put our name in for a table at 6 (when the restaurant opens). We sat at a great table overlooking city and enjoyed a couple Martinis each. At just before 6 we were shown a table with a fantastic view of London with London eye and Hyde Park in the horizon. I ordered the Smoked Duck and the wife the artichoke soup appetizers Both were outstanding. For our meal, I ordered the venison with baby carrots and my wife the White Sea bass and a pear salad. The venison was ridiculously good. Amazing actually. The bass was what you would expect from a nice restaurant. During our meal my wife had a glass of wine and I an ale. Throughout the dinner experience, we received exceptional service. David H. Went above and beyond showing us to a private room overlooking another part of the city for our desert and coffee Was it expensive? Yes. Total was approximately 285 lbs. But what restaurant overlooking the city or water isn't. This was an experience that lasted over two hours and would absolutely do it again. Thank you again David H et al.
Be the first to ReplyHave been here twice: first time for brunch and recently
Have been here twice: first time for brunch and recently for dinner. Firstly, the upscale casual dress code is spot-on: not just because Aqua Shard is itself upscale, but because you're going to want to look your best for the photos, especially if you're lucky enough to snag a window seat. Speaking of which, even the interior tables are quite nice, because you'll get a view even from the lounge.Try to arrive early for your reservation so you can chill at the lounge & get a bit lubricated. They've got the typical wine selection but if you can go in on the Heavenly Punch cocktail, have at it if "Fresh, fruity & balanced" strikes your fancy. The bread service is on the side menu, which is sourdough with whey butter. Take advantage of the unlimited refill. Also pairs well with the burrata cheese app.Dinner was the relatively tame leek & potato ravioli. Great portion size for its £25 tag, and if you are craving a little extra, soak up some of the garlic sauce with the sourdough side.Dessert was the warm apple tart to split, which came with individual scoops of vanilla ice cream. Definitely a smart finish! The chocolate sphere, on the other hand, was a bit milder, but if you are into chocolate paired with fruit, I highly recommend.Service was 10/10, everyone from the hosts, bartenders, servers & management were polite, attentive & quick. Overall, if you are looking for epic views of the London skyline that doesn't include the Eye, I would highly suggest a meal here, preferably around sunset. The food is actually tasty considering most of the price includes the sights.
Be the first to ReplyCame here to celebrate a birthday.
Left thoroughly disappointed. They bent over backwards for the high flying Russians behind us but for us, absolutely the pits. We waited over one hour just for a drink. Took ages to get our orders. The Russians behind us who came in at the same time got their full meal served by the time we got our first drink. Even got a nice free happy birthday dessert. Not even a sorry for the wait us. Food was just ok. I recommend you skip this place. It's definitely one for the oligarchs. They spare no thoughts for anyone else. Waste of money and also got charged an extra item that we didn't even order. Too annoyed to want to return and argue with them about it. Red flag.
Be the first to ReplyOof.I don't even know how to properly summarize my thoughts
Oof.I don't even know how to properly summarize my thoughts on this place. It gets 3 stars with the help of its view. After that, it all goes downhill..We called and made a specific reservation for drinks alone, planning to have dinner elsewhere after the menu didn't appeal to us. I didn't love the immediate greeting of waiting in a line outside despite having a reservation. Once through security, we went up the elevator to the host staff. They confirmed we were only there for drinks, and sat us at a table. After placing our order, we were asked about food and said we didn't plan on eating. This started a flurry of activity, all of it unwelcoming, where we were told we weren't sitting in the proper area, had to move to the bar, etc, etc..The whole incident was incredibly astonishing to me, from being kicked out of our table and walking through the restaurant with all our things and drinks to be seated elsewhere. Despite multiple apologies and free corn nuts, the whole thing felt wrong. Are the views worth it? Maybe. But with all the fuss, I found the $100 bar tab for three drinks and a bottle of water a bit of a bitter pill to swallow.

What an amazing experience, it was all themed after Peter Pan. All the sweet and savory items were creatively prepared. I enjoyed the view, the food, and the service was top notch. I would highly recommend this for everyone to try at least once.

Very cool city views from the Shard facing across the Thames. Ive only been to the bar as the food menu wasn't too my liking , elegant ambiance here. Very relaxing, with a window table you can gaze down at the boats going by and the buses riding up and down the tower bridge. Servers didn't rush us and let us sit at a prime spot for a long time with just one drink each and water. It's not cheap, so don't judge me for the pacing drinks slowly practice. We had the Meda Glow and Meda calm drinks, which are non-alcoholic. I thought they would be like mock tails, but they were pre-bottled. They are very refreshing medicinal type of drinks. The hallway to the restrooms is super dark, where someone could accidently walk into a restroom you are not supposed to be in . They could do something about that. Overall, nice spot for celebrating occasions or impress out of town friends.

Amazing dining experience that catered to my nut allergy! My waiter was great and service was quite prompt. You can't beat dining with this amazing view! Everything was delicious from the pancake to the dessert. Very well executed and staff was extremely friendly! Such a shame yelp doesn't allow videos to be posted anymore. I have awesome videos of the view. Check out @_eatnow on IG for more pics and the videos.

We chose this place since it was in the same location as the building we wanted to see and of course, the nice views. Upon arriving to our 6pm dinner reservation, we were 15min early. We were directed by the floor manager that we had to wait by the bar until 6pm. (Mind you, all the tables were empty except for those who were enjoying their afternoon tea.) I asked why... since we wanted to enjoy the view before dinner and she rudely suggested again, that we had to go towards the bar. So we did. We walked towards the bar and it was full, no space. After waiting over 5 minutes, finally an empty table. We sat down and no one came to offer a drink nor did they pick up the previous people's drinks. How disappointed. At this point, we were so saddened by this experience and to have wasted our afternoon waiting for this reservation that it wasn't even worth it. Guests shouldn't be treated like this, especially by a floor manager. We simply left. Please read other reviews, other guests have complained about poor service as well.
Be the first to ReplyHaving been once before and being very impressed, my wife
Having been once before and being very impressed, my wife and I decided to have Christmas Eve dinner here. The food wasn't bad but the service was. The menu for the evening was prix fixe only, and we chose the wine pairings. Oddly, the first two courses only came with one glass of wine. I would've gladly paid for a second glass as we sat twiddling our thumbs between long breaks in service but our waiter only appeared when plates were being served. The first course was rushed to the table even before our cocktails arrived and we were never offered bread. Then, as if to counter for the initial rushed service, we waited forever for the following dishes to arrive and sat with empty wine glasses most of the evening. Luckily for us, the views are amazing. Overall, not a horrible evening but it could have been much better with semi-attentive service.
Be the first to ReplyI went here with friends for dinner on a Friday.
The views make it a three, the food less so.After getting in, as the person at the entrance treble checking the booking and made to feel I was an imposter, was a bit awkward stood there reiterating that I definitely had the right restaurant and there was a table booked! So got to the table and got served the wine really quickly as I waited for my friends to get there. The head waiter came over and asked for our order and we asked for five minutes and he said no(!), as we were there at 6, we reminded him we had it booked for 18:30 and then he was like, "oh okay then, have five minutes " and walked off.We placed our orders no worries with the other waiter who was a good bloke.Starters - the yellow fin tuna was exceptional. The butternut squash soup tasted like watery cake mix and was not pleasant. The egg yolk ravioli smelt like feet and wasn't all that. The salmon was very good. The mains - the steak was overcooked and for £50 you want it cooked as you asked. There are no sides whatsoever, so mash and broccoli are extra, which is normal I guess but that means it was closer to £65 for a very mediocre steak. My friend had fish as doesn't eat meat, made this clear to the waiter, and his food was covered in beef jus so it had to be taken away and re-served, meaning he was sat there whilst we are waiting for it to come back out whilst we all had our dinners.Waited an absolute age for dessert, and it was meh. Most had the chocolate and caramel fondant pudding and it was not that good. We ordered drinks and they took forever to come.We asked if we had time to get more drinks and got told we had to vacate the table, so we went to the bar.Bar - total rubbish. Waaaay overpriced for quite frankly crap service and cocktails that were just substandard. The barman took our order, then proceeded to serve two other people whilst constantly flirting with a lady sat at the bar. The pornstar cocktails tasted like a J20 with a shot of vodka and was stupidly sweet, the cosmos didn't taste anything like a Cosmo, the espresso martini was just not done right. The whisky list had the first three choices sold out....Distinct lack of seating or anywhere to hang your coat.I would say come here for a drink and take in the views, don't bother with dinner, it's a rip off, as I don't mind paying for good food, but this wasn't good.Won't return.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for drinks while I was in London with my parents!
Came here for drinks while I was in London with my parents! We opted to sit at the bar since we were staying for just one drink. The Shard is beautiful, and anyone who goes to London really does have to come here for the views. It's a panoramic view of thames, and if you sit towards the bar, you can see the London Bridge perfectly. It was especially ideal for us since we couldn't actually see it up close and personal due to time constraints. The time, detail and patience that bars in London put into their drinks is amazing, so the slightly pricey drinks with these unbelievable views really make this a great experience with a slightly above-avg-price. I enjoyed every second here, and wish I could've spent more time here, but any person who visits London really has to visit The Shard - and the aqua shard is the best place to get a drink with amazing views without breaking the bank! Also: ladies, make sure you go to the bathroom - the views there are unbelievable as well, and makes washing your hands an experience as well!
