Antico Nuovo Los Angeles Reviews from The Last Year
We had the crudo, branzino and some sweet green pasta.
Also some fluffy bread thingy . ALL were delicious. Love it. Would def recommend A+.
For all of the hype this restaurant was getting on social
For all of the hype this restaurant was getting on social media food pages, I was disappointed after my visit. The service was fantastic, the wine choices seemed endless, so we were excited. We ordered the focaccia with whipped burrata to start and it was delicious. Our main dishes were a disappointment though and the pricing didn't seem to pair with the quality. We paid $200 for the focaccia with whipped cheese, two main dishes (pappardelle & cannelloni) and two glasses of wine. There's better Italian out there without the overpayment.
First and last.
$40!!! For two Cannelonis that taste like I was eating from a buffet. I'm a world traveler and pride myself in good Italian food. This place WAS NOT! OVER PRICED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Update: I fell in love with Antico Nuovo because, in addition to its outstanding cuisine, it felt like a grown-up place to enjoy a special evening. The staff was always casual but conducted themselves with a nice combination of maturity, hospitality, and foodie finesse. And we patrons were on the same page. Fast forward to July 2024. The food is still terrific and the staff is still lovely...but the patrons? Horrendous! The majority were in Tshirts, shorts, flip flops, and pajama sets. The final insult, a diner wearing a baseball cap squeezed between his table and ours tonight, and as he took his seat, his drop-waist shorts revealed his entire rear end, clad in jersey underwear, at eye level, inches from my face. Not cute, and something I can never unsee. I can handle casual, but not when an establishment bills itself as "a restaurant that draws inspiration from the Italian countryside preserving ancient techniques and traditions in food and wine"...with prices to match. I would never suggest imposing a dress code, and maybe the owners are fine with this level of "come as you are." But sadly, I think Antico Nuovo has become a victim of its popularity. The dinner crowd is very Venice Beach on Sunday morning. I love that this place is enjoying well-earned success, but at what cost?
The waitress was very nice and made a few recommendations.
The food was incredible. I am gluten free, so I was limited in options but I still had a great experience. We started with the burrata and duck liver patté, both were already outstanding. They came with bread which I couldn't have but it smelled so good. For mains we ordered two pasta dishes, the lamb shoulder and a side of broccoli. I tried a little bit if the foglie d'ulivo pasta. It was outstanding. I wish they had gluten free pasta options or used Italian flour which does not impact me.
My life changed when I tried the focaccia with the duck
My life changed when I tried the focaccia with the duck liver and burrata. I don't know how to explain it, but the flavors complement each other so well, but are very different. The duck liver on its own is pretty salty, but it's perfect when paired with the focaccia and the burrata is surprisingly light, despite the fact that it is cheese. One bite of the duck liver and then one bite of the burrata is quite literally culinary perfection. I would come here just to experience this combo again. We also ordered two pastas, the pork chops, and the broccolini while these were good, they did not blow me away. The pistachio ice cream was pretty amazing and I highly recommend getting either that or the honeycomb when dining here! Service was really great and the ambience was nice. Think this is a good place to have a date night.
I can't understand what the hype is about this place.
It's been around for a few years now and all of sudden it's the hottest place for Italian food because of some TikToks and IG posts. I went there to celebrate a buddy's birthday and although we ordered a crap ton of food, it was not enough. Food was okay. Only the focaccia was memorable. Very Small portions for what you're being charged for which is a lot. Service was fine but the servers seemed very curt and not very friendly. Only one server stood out because he actually smiled and was just a pleasant guy. He was also the tallest server there so shout out to him.

This little gem is tucked away in between Ktown and Larchmont. The food was great and the atmosphere was very trendy.you MUST get the focaccia! It's perfect crisp on the outside side and airy inside. This place makes a great spot for date night or a fancy girls night out. They also have an intensive wine list.
Very random location but beautiful restaurant and nice
Very random location but beautiful restaurant and nice ambiance inside. Found parking around the corner. Focaccia: I've never had focaccia like this before, it was like a massive balloon. Helpfully cut into quadrants. A bit plain on its own, probably why there are so many add-ons listed on the menu. Still good though and great for sharing. I ordered the pappardelle. The pasta was picture perfect and it also tasted great. You can tell the pasta is freshly made. Good amount of protein in there. Perfect portion too. For dessert, we got the pistachio crunch. It's house-made vanilla ice cream with house-made pistachio brittle. Light, creamy, salty, sweet. It's so goood! We were celebrating my birthday so they put a candle in it (but fyi - they don't discount dessert off the bill which was a bummer). Fast service and our waiter was so friendly.
One of the best restaurants I've been to lately.
The place is dark, with an open kitchen that operates quietly and with grace. Smoke emitting from the kitchen foreshadowed the flavors to come. The waiter was incredibly helpful with dish selection and quantity. He did not push us to over-order; we ordered the perfect amount of food. The menu selection is large enough for many options for picky eaters or for people looking for different things, but small enough as not to be overwhelming. Each course was perfectly executed, up to the olive oil in the crudo which was Very Top Notch. Most impressive, however, was how they managed to serve us three heavy dishes (two meat pastas and the sweetbreads) without us feeling heavy or the flavors feeling repetitive. This is a pitfall most restaurants fall into and that you usually need to intentionally avoid by NOT ordering so many heavy dishes. Antico avoided this by injecting acidity and edge to the dishes thoughfully. The squab pasta featured punchy olives and the sweetbreads bathed in a reduced marsala. Rich--but acidic. I was incredibly impressed, as were the other guests, some of whom were not big on food and were picky eaters. Dinner with 2 glasses of wine and no dessert was ~$80pp total. Not bad. Antico is certainly a candidate for the rare repeat visit.
Please save your hard earned money and valuable time.
The terrible manager and service are not worth it. Go to Mother Wolf 10 minutes away. Thank me later.
Ambiance and service were great.
Food was not the level it was hyped up to be. Loved the focaccia tho!
Excellent all around.
Food, atmosphere, A little knock on value: some items a touch pricey. And a little knock on service: the server was exceptional. Host stand could use a little help in managing the turns. When offered dessert, I shared that host said they needed the table by a certain time. Server was surprised and said we're welcome to stay. Oh and perhaps more than ice cream and cannoli: more variety to hook the finishing touch on a splendid meal.
The atmosphere is lovely and the service is excellent.
The server recommended us a couple delicious wines that we really enjoyed. We ordered the focaccia along with a green chickpea puree and both were outstanding. Don't sleep on the focaccia. The ice cream is also ridiculously good. The pasta was a bit disappointing. We ordered the ravioli and pappardelle. The pasta itself was homemade and cooked to perfection but the ravioli's red sauce was a bit bland and the ragu on the pappardelle was soooo salty it was hard to enjoy.

Antico Salt-o! This place feels cool and looks the part, the wine list is interesting and some of the dishes are quite good, while others are disappointing. Yes, the focaccia is fluffy and light with a crispy, yet overly-salted crust. The burrata was light and smooth. My personal favorite, the broccoli caesar was unexpected and delicious, and that I'm afraid is there the highlights end. The sauce with the plin dell' alta langa was fine, but something about it just didn't sit right/had an odd or gamey taste. The cannelloni was super salty- it was literally the only flavor, pass on that. Super pass on the ribs- they are so dry and overly seasoned! They really missed an opportunity to serve with a much needed polenta. Lamb is good, & infinitely better than the way over-seasoned ribs. The biggest disappointment had to be the ice cream- we ordered the honeycomb and the pistachio and they were exactly the same except that one had a little honey on top and one had some salted pistachios on top of the super salty salted ice cream. Joe Jonas was there, so you might see a celeb, but this is LA, odds are just as good at the grocery store. There are better Italian restaurants & better all-around restaurants in LA (Republique or Pace come to mind). Try if you must, but be warned of the salt!
Me and wifey had reservations the day after valentine's day
Me and wifey had reservations the day after valentine's day , once they opened we got sat right away. Small menu ? yes. but trust me the smaller the more they specialize in it. Perhaps it can be a little pricey but hey la type shit right. Although our server was a little awkward she was attentive. Wife had the tortellini which she loved, yea a few more tortellinis wouldn't hurt but it was very tasty and vibrant dish. Of course the man had to have the parpadelle, Let me tell you this , best fucken parpadelle i have ever tasted and quite frank it will be hard to beat. Not only was it fresh and rustic but the sauce was insane, very delicious. Overall great experience, i would definitely come back for my birthday but i can't sadly because we ain't got to muh monie cuz . Thank you to the management and workers.
Yummy Italian spot for quality food without being too
Yummy Italian spot for quality food without being too expensive. Nice ambiance. Beer and wine only! For food- i recommend: The ice cream - omg so amazing and flavorful. We got the pistachio and it was good The focaccia bread - the best I've had, cooked so well Pastas were amazing as well. Not best I ever had, but great Do not recommend: Tuna crudo, weird taste
We came for the Valentines prix fixe menu.
Great service and tasty food in an intimate setting. There is valet parking but we parked on the street. Just pay attention to signs. Reservations were made via OpenTable. They do call to confirm the day before. The prix fixe menu is a selection of many of their same regular dishes. The meal is served family style and you pick two appetizers with focaccia bread to start, two pastas, one main entree (with extra $$ for ribs and tomahawk steak), a side, and two desserts. We liked the bread to start. The ricotta was a great complement. The crudo was tasty though I ate it with the bread like lox! I liked the pasta, served nice al dente with the bits of meat a nice touch to the more chewy pasta. You can add more Parmesan to top. We got the ribs. They were good, though the fennel did give a saltier aftertaste. We added the bone marrow potato purée and that was nice and fatty! The meal ended with their special honeycomb and pistachio crunch ice cream. We liked the honey flavor though the pistachio crunch did end up a bit salty. A great date night! They didn't have cocktails but a big selection of wines and some beers.

My wife merely asked for a menu and the waitress at the front shooed her away. Surprising lack of class from this upscale restaurant.
The food is more like a 3.
5 but the ice cream takes it to a 4... Whipped ricotta was good. I loved the bread- just the right amount of fluff and toast. Broccoli chicory Caesar was great! But the tuna and amberjack crudos weren't that great (especially the tuna). The tortelli and pappardelle both needed more flavor. Loved the texture of the pastas and could definitely taste the freshness but wish there was more flavor to both dishes. Branzino, pollo and cauliflower were the best dishes we had. Really LOVED these. The ice creams!!! Pistachio was #1! Persimmon was a close #2. The honeycomb was similar to pistachio so loved that too. The chocolate was too rich- one bite was just enough. Our first server was great but the one who took over when she had to leave had a horrible attitude and we felt like she was mocking us for wanting to order 4 ice creams. Ended off the night with a bad experience.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!
Worked flawlessly!
Worked so well! I was a bit nervous, but everything went very smoothly. purchased the reservation, and got into the restaurant seamlessly.
Love this app!
So glad I came across this app :)
Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res
instead of waiting weeks I got my 4 charles reservation instantly
Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??
Tune into NBC News - Top Story Tonight 7:40p ET
Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
