Anjappar Chettinad Restaurant Bengaluru Reviews from The Last Year
First time.
.. and did take out. We tried a few items, chicken lollipops, gobi Manchurian - dry, chicken tikki masala, both garlic and cheese naan, parotta and wheat roti. We loved the chicken lollipops, they were flavorful and not dry. The gobi Manchurian was spicy with a little bit of tangy sweet... delicious. The chicken tikki masala was spicy and tender. I would personally skip the wheat roti it had no flavor in my option. The parotta was the best. The cheese was our favorite vs the garlic naan, but the garlic naan was very good.
picked up Mutton and Chicken Biryani.
Worst ever Biryani I had. I would not recommend a take out Biryani from here. Very expensive, poor quality and stale.
I love coming to Anjappar with my parents.
They offer a wide variety of dishes to choose from, from breakfast items, to soups, to typical dinner items. If you come on a weekday, it takes roughly 15 minutes to get food to your table. However Friday nights and weekends, it can take upwards of 30 minutes because of the rush. It's a decently large restaurant, and all the workers are nice and accommodating. We always order the veg kothu paratha and baby corn manchurian for the table -- 10/10 items and they always taste great. This time around we ordered the hot and sour veg soup -- I was recovering from a sore throat and this really helped with clearing it up. The spices mix together really well. We also ordered the Chicken 65 Biryani -- while the rice is good, the chicken pieces are only on the top of the rice and are not mixed in. It doesn't feel like the best bang for your buck. Overall, I'll be coming back to try the other dishes they have! This is a great place if you're in the mood for some authentic, spicy Indian food.
The crab masala curry is out of this world.
So spicy and flavorful, one whole huge crab. Highly recommend. Also packaged very well, leak proof for delivery

We ordered chicken lollipops, fried anchovies, Masala dosa and fried rice with Gobi Manchurian. Everything tasted so good.

I've eaten a few times here and the reason I'm finally writing a review and giving them only a star is because I've had a pretty bad experience with service as well as taste for almost everything except chicken lollipops. The fish was tasteless and almost felt burnt. The food in general was lacking flavor and the staff didn't seem to care.

Came in on a Saturday at about 6pm and this place wasn't busy to my surprise and was seated right away. The server was so friendly and helpful as I don't eat Indian often, but I can say it was sooo good! We ordered the Palak Paneer which was so fresh and tasty and also ordered the Kadai Vegetable which was sweeter than I thought, but still good. The star of the show was the mutter and it was so good I didn't even get a picture LOL! Please note that I am not a big spice person and we thought medium would be ok, but NO NO... we got no spice and it was plenty for me haha! Plenty of parking as it is located in a strip mall. Will be back as this place was super good and the service was great. The location is also modern and feels upscale.
This is my favorite Indian restaurant in the world.
Flavor is so good, and they are the only ones who make it spicy enough and don't make it mild for Americans. I get the non-veg thali every time. The mutton chicken and fish are all amazing. I usually like all of their sides, but sometimes they do a bittergourd one that is not great. I come here about 3 times a month and love it every time. I don't recommend it for take-out though. I did that once and it was completely different than it is for dine-in.
Went to dinner with my family and we devoured the food.
We ordered the following: - Gobi Manchurian - 5/5, I have not found better Gobi in the Bay Area. It's unbeatable for me - Fish 65 - 4/5 While this wasn't what I expected for a 65 dish (the usual flavor profiles) I enjoyed it. It was small bite sized boneless fish pieces that were fried with batter - Veg Schezuan Noodles - 5/5 I love Indo-chinese food and this was great noodles for me! It was very spicy so beware of some extra heat -Burnt Garlic Fried Rice - 5/5 Very authenticate to flavors you would find in india. I really enjoyed the texture and taste and in comparison, was not as spicy -Seeraga Samba Chicken Biriyani - 3/5 My family loved it, but personally I found the actual chicken pieces (with bone) flavorless. The rice was well flavored Overall we loved the food but docking a point for cleanliness and slow service, although I do think it is well worth the wait. They have large food portions too!

Maybe it's me but the front host was not too friendly, but he wasn't rude. The few dishes were not great, very meh. Nothing to bring me back.

On January 1st I ordered the food and found a metal wire in my order. Very unprofessional and shocking service, I'll definitely take this to the Health Department as this could be very dangerous and can make a very very serious health issues. Posting the photos of the metal wire and the receipt. Disgusting and Intolerable.

I've gone here ~5x and the food and service have been pretty consistent. I'm surprised by the overall rating of this place because I've enjoyed it every time I've come. My recommendations (a hit every time): * Chicken Biryani (more meat than you usually will see in Biryani) * Masala Dosa * Chai (pour it between the little dish they give you and the cup for the best experience!) * Chettinad Chicken The prices are a little higher than other Indian places in the area, but I think of this as more of a nicer sit-down place. It's a great place to go with friends so you can try as much as possible. We usually end up having leftovers to take home.

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

When it says working on bid, it means there are people looking to fill it.
