Angelina Paris Reviews from The Last Year
Enjoy a meal at this wonderful place!
My wife had heard that Angelina is THE place for hot chocolate. We had just finished touring one of the museums nearby so we walked over to Angelina for some food (and hot chocolate). The line was long but it moved pretty quickly. And it was well worth the wait. The interior is gorgeous. The staff is wonderful. And the food is AMAZING! My wife had a croissant sandwich with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. I had their croque madame. Wow! And I think you can guess what my wife would say about the hot chocolate. Haha! Eat at Angelina. It’s spectacular. Enjoy!
The place used to be great but ruined by hype
I first came to Angelina many years ago and have been wanting to repeat the experience. While back then it was amazing, my experience today turned out quite mediocre. The quality of the desserts (I took millefeuille, like at my first time) is very mediocre now. Definitely not worth the wait. The cookie I got at a random cookie store was way more delicious (and twice as cheap). Also I don’t understand how ordinary tea can cost 8 euros.
Yall, the breakfast here was okay.
If you're coming just for the hot chocolate, it's not as pretty or impressive as Carrette. Carrette wins in the hot chocolate for me. The interior was beautiful but as you got to the back back near the restrooms, it seemed to have been forgotten. The decor wasn't that nice, it felt cramped and that's where we were seated. I don't know why but the pastries on the menu are more expensive by 2-4 euros than the SAME pastries in the bakery display shop. There was a separate line JUST for the bakery. I'd recommend you do that instead, save yourself the euros and time of waiting in the long line to dine in. The mont-blanc is one of their iconic desserts and it's pretty but the taste wasn't there and didn't finish it. The rest of the breakfast was okay but nothing too special. Yall know the coffee in France is small and expensive. it wasn't even espresso. I asked our server if they did refills and he's like "no. you just buy another coffee". LOL. Also, our server was pushy at the end and made us give him a tip. The bill didn't have tip included and we were speaking in Spanish and our mistake was discussing this while he was standing there and he knew the Spanish word for 'tip' and was like, "how much do you want to add?" (while holding the card machine in his hand so he could enter the amount. HOW AWKWARD!!!!! Across the street was the gardens which were lovely to walk through and you're close to the Louvre too. If you reallyyyy truly want to try this place, just go to the bakery :)
Chocolat Chaud! Best ever!
The hot chocolate has a flavor that is rich and none like I’ve ever had before. The food is great but go for the hot chocolate.
A bit overrated
Beautiful location and good service. The hot chocolate is too decadent. Recommend getting only one cup and sharing. Sickly feeling after two sips.

The hot chocolate I've had on this trip to Paris! The desserts were so creative and beautiful, almost too pretty to eat haha
Must try!
Unable to get a table as the queue was too big but there was no queue for takeaway. The hot chocolate is a must try! The cakes are also beautiful, not too sickly but very filling. We went and sat in the grounds opposite and enjoyed them. Would recommend a visit
Service: The line was very long, about 25 minutes.
We were seated on the 2nd floor, which is not the preferable area and was quite stuffy. The waiters and the hosts were nice and helpful. We were provided with the menu and served our choices shortly after ordering. Keep in mind that groups of 3 and more will be seated quicker, a few groups behind us in line were seated before us due to the availability of the larger tables. Food: We just came in for drinks and desserts. For drinks we ordered a vanilla milkshake, which was very sweet but delicious, and tea, which was just plain regular tea. For dessert we ordered Nuage Miel dragée and Finger noisette (pictures and their menu descriptions attached below). The Finger noisette was delicious and looked very pleasant. The Nuage Miel dragée, while beautiful, was not very pleasant to eat. The white outer shell was sweet and tender, but the inside jelly-like part contained chestnut, which added a very bitter aftertaste. I couldn't finish the Nuage and felt a little sick after it. Ambience: While there is nothing to complain about, there is also no unusual things I'd like to mention. It is a regular tea/dessert place with a cute pastry bakery shop on the first floor. There was nothing exceptional about the decor or the vibe. It was pleasant. Overall: Food 7/10 Service 10/10 The wait 5/10 Ambience 8/10 I think there are many more places with good desserts that are worth visiting. Angelina might be slightly overrated.

My absolute favorite spot from my recent Paris trip! It 100% lives up to the hype and I'd highly recommend carving out time to dine here. My friend and I came around 11 AM and though we were expecting the line to be long, it wasn't too bad! We only waited about 15-20 minutes. The interior here is huge and they're a well-oiled machine, so even if the line might be intimidating, it does go fast. The vibes here are exquisite, and exactly what you'd imagine. It's so adorable and homey, yet chic and elegant. It can be a rather tight space depending on where you get seated, but breakfast in Paris doesn't get much better than this. My friend and I both got the Angelina breakfast, and each item was so delicious, though unsurprisingly, the Hot Chocolate is the star. So decadent!! The croissants, eggs, and bread were also a hit, and I love their in-house spreads and jams. We also got a ton of little trinkets, souvenirs, and pastries before leaving. An absolute must!
Nothing less than wonderful.
The Gin & Tonic was the best I've ever had. Anywhere. Perfection. The food...Fantastic. The desserts...Divine. The service...Wonderful. I cannot say enough about Angelina.
I tried their famous hot chocolate and loved it.
While the desserts were good, they didn't quite blow me away.

This place was cute.
I liked the food. The eggs were OK a little watery and the avocado toast was not what I expected. But the presentation of the food looked beautiful. The line was very long. I suggest cutting it. The hot chocolate was very well I suggest ordering it. And lastly, the service was horrendous.

Had Marie Antoinette been serving cakes from Angelina, then, possibly, only her husband's name might appear on a plaque near the obelisk at Place de la Concorde, a mere ten minute walk away. Naturally, you'll wait in a long line to indulge, a short reprieve where one, unfortunately, has enough time to knit something with the Tricoteuses, positioned nearby. Sadly, the individuals serving these splendid confections are not expeditious in their craft, taking their time executing each order, and, one could only assume, do not descend from the family Sanson, or Deibler, who would have lopped off a succulent piece of cake far swifter. Unless you make a reservation, and enjoy your treats in the lovely dining room, there is not even a bascule to rest upon when partaking. The fare at Angelina is very rich, and meant to be eaten, as famously declared by Pierre Chaumette. But, if that kind of luxe just ain't for us, or if we crave a different kind of buzz, you can select an espresso and forego the sweets because we can't all be royals.

First there was a decently long line to get in so keep that in mind. The place presents itself as fancy but there is no dress code. The food all looks good and I had the Avocado toast. It looked amazing but it stops there. I tried some other items that were good like the thick hot chocolate which is very thick and is more like chocolate syrup than hot chocolate. Overall it was a good place but I feel the food could be improved by focusing less on looks but looks get instagram followers.
