Ambrosia Ristorante BYOB Philadelphia Reviews from The Last Year
What can I say about Ambrosia? It offers a superb
What can I say about Ambrosia? It offers a superb experience with reasonable pricing. My family dined there and we were not disappointed. The Branzino is always a winner: a mild, flaky filet with crispy skin atop a summer-style corn salad absolutely delicious. The cacio e pepe was a comforting dish, featuring flavorful sauce and fresh al dente pasta. The ravioli special was good, though it had a slightly dry texture. Nonetheless, it was still enjoyable. The salmon was plentiful and hearty, with a delightful crispy skin. The service was top notch and reliable.

3 of us had the pleasure of dining at Ambrosia the other night. We started with the Salmon Belly, Calamari and Herb Caesar Salad. All 3 were absolutely fantastic. For entrees we had the Airline Chicken, Short Rib and a Lamb Neck (special). We're sharers so we all had a taste of each. Again, absolutely amazing dishes cooked to literal perfection. The Airline Chicken was as tender and tasty as any chicken breast I've ever had. The Short Rib was tender and just amazing. Maybe a "sleeper", the Soft Polenta which comes with many of the entrees was incredible. The special of the evening, Lamb Neck was seasoned and cooked to perfection leaving you with a tender cut of meat that if I ever see on a menu in the future, I'd try. If you haven't been to Ambrosia yet, go. If you've been wanting to try Ambrosia, do it. The staff was great, the place is nice for both indoor and outdoor seating and is in such a nice and quiet neighborhood.

We went to Ambrosia for the first time last week and had a very pleasant experience! I called and made a reservation since there weren't many times available on Resy and they were able to accommodate my request. They are BYOB, but they do have alcohol for purchase as well. We brought 3 bottles with us and there was no corking fee. For appetizers, we had the Caesar salad and octopus. The Caesar salad had fresh Parmesan on top and a green dressing. It was a unique twist on a Caesar salad, but I'm not sure if I would recommend it. The octopus was very tasty and everyone at the table liked it! For entrees we had the basil pesto pasta with burrata, cacio e Pepe, squid ink spaghetti, and the papardelle. Everyone really enjoyed their dishes overall. For dessert, we had hazelnut gelato and tiramisu. The hazelnut gelato was very good! The tiramisu unfortunately had no coffee flavor and tasted mostly like chocolate. Overall, we had a good experience here and would come back again to try new things!
I wish i could give six stars.
Outstanding foods and good relaxing atmosphere. I hope they are available in my neighborhood.
Ambrosia offers delicious Italian food in a quaint setting
Ambrosia offers delicious Italian food in a quaint setting near the Schuykill River Park, perfect for a cozy date night. The butternut squash ravioli was DELICIOUS (I could have licked my plate!) but we were underwhelmed by the salmon. Homemade gelato was great! It's a bit cramped inside but still very classy with plenty of enclosed outdoor seating. Service was average - it seemed like they were rushing and they were not prepared to accept a mobile gift card. I would definitely go back to try more of the menu based on the ravioli and gelato and the classy atmosphere, but we weren't quite as blown away as we had expected.
Delicious food
We came here for dinner on 04/15/22. We were seated right away choosing the table we preferred. We brought wine and non-alcoholic beer, not realizing they had a liquor license. It was no problem with them. We started with beef carpaccio and calamari. My beef carpaccio was excellent. The presentation was very nice and it was a generous portion size. My husband liked the calamari. For entrees I had the octopus, and my husband had the veal medallions. The octopus was perfectly cooked and the accompaniments were delicious. My husband’s veal looked great, and he said it tasted very good. Our side of fingerling potatoes were fried and dried out. They were difficult to eat, and I gave up after one. Both deserts were great: the tiramisu and crème brûlée. Nice portion sizes as well. Overall service was great. We can’t wait to visit again.
cute quaint neighborhood restaurant with good food! we
cute quaint neighborhood restaurant with good food! we ordered the crispy brussel sprouts to start, papardelle and the duck as mains. complimentary foccacia bites were pleasant, crispy on the outside soft on the inside. brussel sprouts were delicious, definitely our favorite item from the night. papardelle was rich and al dente, duck cooked medium rare as ordered. the mains were not special, but adequate for a simple cute dinner. staff was friendly and prompt, only complaint is that the inside was more cramped than comfortable. we sat at a small two-person table in the middle of the restaurant, and i definitely accidentally elbowed some passersby while eating... sorry

My daughter and I celebrated her new job with a visit to Ambrosia last week. Miguel provided prompt and courteous service. Mushroom tortellini and Cacio e pepe were scrumptious. Appetizers were also delicious. Even considering we paid for no drinks (BYOB), the bill was surprisingly low. The owner George, made it a point to stop by to check on us. Highly recommended. We will be returning.
My daughter and I had a wonderful experience at Ambrosia
My daughter and I had a wonderful experience at Ambrosia last evening. The service, food and staff were all exceptional. We were seated quickly. Miguel was a polite and attentive waiter. Appetizers (burrata, oysters, beef carpaccio) were all fresh and tasty. Entree's of tortelloni and cacio e' pepe were robust and delicious. In between clearing tables, owner George stopped by to ask if we were enjoying ourselves. What a nice touch! We will definitely come again.
A cozy little BYOB in Philly.
Everything was spectacular from the service, ambiance and food. We began with the beef carpaccio, Brussel sprouts & grilled octopus. We preferred the carpaccio over the octopus. The beef melted in your mouth and instead of crackers to eat with it, it had flakes of crouton chips on top. The octopus was good but nothing new we haven't had before. The Brussel sprouts were different with the pomegranate seeds giving the dish a crunch while the labneh gave it a creamy contrast. It was our favorite dish of the evening. We selected two pastas, squid ink spaghettini & papardelle. We were not too impressed with the spaghettini but the papardelle made up for it. We will definitely return to try other things on the menu. It takes a 5 star experience for my husband to revisit any restaurant.
Ambrosia is the best dining experience in the city of
Ambrosia is the best dining experience in the city of Philadelphia . We have been dining there every weekend for several years. The staff is professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Pujah makes us feel like we are family every weekend hostessing us and making sure we are seated at the best table. Yasmin as well is so wonderful and helpful and all of the wait staff is undeniably the best anywhere. Accommodating, knowledgeable , and so friendly. And the owner George is the very very best!!! He cannot do enough for his guests and his staff. That is why this restaurant flows and runs so well. Because the owners are always there making sure that everyone is happy and comfortable with their meal and the experience. Thank you Ambrosia! Jan Pecarsky
DONT EVEN BOTHER.
Your reservation will be cancelled and if you do decide to show up they rush you through a meal as quickly as possible. We've been here before and loved it so came back for a special evening and we were rushed out to the point when I was enjoying a dessert cocktail we were told people were waiting and to hurry up. Do not come here - go to an actual Italian BYOB that wants you to sit and enjoy you meal - not here.

The pasta was delicious and the outside atmosphere on a nice day is great! Friendly service and overall a great experience!
Ambrosia did a great job for a wedding rehearsal dinner for
Ambrosia did a great job for a wedding rehearsal dinner for 46 people. My wife and I had previously enjoyed dinner here on multiple occasions. We were fortunate enough to use their brand-new space and it was a pleasure working with both owner's (Fredi and George) in planning the dinner and bar menus, very accommodating with our selections. We used the warm 1st floor space for a cocktail hour that included an open bar and mix of hors d'oeuvres (group enjoyed many oysters and shrimp). Dinner was on 2nd floor where our guests enjoyed two options for the 1st, 2nd courses and desert with 4 options for main course. Our guests gave us great reviews about how delicious the food was (Burrata, Tortelloni and Short Rib were big hits) along with the great service provided by the staff, our wine glasses were never empty! Thank you Fredi and George for making this special occasion a great evening!

Nestled in a little corner, this place is a gem! It's a BYOB spot, which automatically gets extra points in my book. No fancy liquor list, just bring your own bottle and unwind. Really chill vibes in the restaurant. We started things off with Burrata. It was creamy and decadent. Paired with some roasted tomato spread and drizzled with olive oil - it's a match made in foodie heaven. Next, the octopus. Tender, flavorful, with just the right char. Pair that with a glass of your favorite vino, and you're off to a good start. Then came the duck. Oh boy, that duck! Crispy skin, juicy meat - it practically melts in your mouth. The flavors? Out of this world We finished the night with some tiramisu. Layers of coffee-soaked goodness, creamy mascarpone, dusted with cocoa powder - you can't mess up tiramisu imo. Overall, this place exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere is cozy, the food is top-notch, and it's BYOB! The service was very lovely as well! If you're in the mood for a laid-back dining experience with killer food, this place is where it's at. I'll definitely come back and recommended this place to my girlfriends.

first, I loved how this restaurant is BYOB so it was nice pairing wine with our food. I started with the grilled octopus and beef carpaccio which was delicious and balanced with flavor. The papardelle was good because of the short rib but didn't wow me. The crispy gnocchi was interesting and i didn't love it because i don't normally like a potato taste or too much goat cheese. The restaurant is overall cute and staff was very efficient in making sure our table is doing great!
Lovely meal in Italian restaurant
Firstly it mentions BYOB which you can bring your own but they also have a wine list which we were happy to find out as we didn’t know where to buy wine. The food was delicious Brussels Sprouts starter was delicious, crunchy Brussels sprouts, smooth labneh and pomegranate seeds all worked together. Mains we had chicken Milanese & Caico e peppe - both were great. Finished with pistachio panna cotta which was unusual but very tasty. Staff were very friendly & attentive I would definitely return if I was In Philadelphia again.
Excellent
Dinner here the weekend of the Philadelphia Marathon. It was delicious. Great service, delicious food. Easy 5 star.
Amazing Italian cafe
We had a fantastic dinner. We shared the marrow special appetizer and an amazing salad with gem lettuces. Our mains were bronzino and salmon with gnocchi as a side. Dessert was tiramisu. Everything was delicious. The service was excellent. BYOB. Very fairly priced at $130
Good but not five stars
There are many things to like about Ambrosia. We sat in an enclosed outdoor booth, which was quite cozy for the six of us. The menu was diverse, and the service was excellent. The food was pretty good, but not at the highest level. For example, duck breast was beautifully prepared, but not as tasty as we would have hoped. Other dishes were kinda the same. Don'tr get me wrong. It was all fine, but not good enough for a fifth star. I would return here eventually, but I'm not rushing back.

Hi @ExhaustiveMilk80, to be able to hold a bid you must have either the key holder medal or concierge medal. Holding bids allows you to work on trying to secure the reservation without someone else getting it before you and filling it
