Don't go. Not a destination spot. Average
Went for dinner on a Saturday night with friends on a recommendation. I won't be going back. The restaurant is cute and elegant inside. Crowded beyond belief. Loud beyond belief. So loud you can't get a table even reserved without waiting, and so loud you can't hear yourself think. No matter where you sit unless by the window in a booth. The food. As most people know, most people think they know good food when they really don't so they rave on about what it only an average expeience and trough food. I was unable to get a server I requested. My server was knowledgeable and very polite. But that doesn't make up for thd lack luster food. We ate a lot and tried many things. Class casino, meatballs, focaccia, crudo, salads. All average and not really great. Dinner had rack of lamb, branzino, small portions, not presented the way they were on the website and not enough food to fill half a person. Veal marsala was the only dish along with eggplant parmesan that were good. Service is average. The servers don't often check on your water or drink orders, that is almost your responsibility. They don't come along and provide new plates and fresh silverware with each course, and asking creates a wait. How can you eat and share pasta dishes without serving spoons and plates? Nothing here struck me as fantastic and I definitely won't bring another business couple or friendly meal here. Again. Lovely place with nice people. Food average and not worth my time to drive there or take a car. Not a date night place. And by the way.....people are crowded into tables and seating and not one person is wearing a mask, and they have no mask policy. I hope I don't get something from that. Average Philadelphia food with a menu that sounds great and looks delicious on line, but falls short and some inedible when dining. And the bull wasn't cheap but the group over 8 drinks with dinner. My appetizer drink was so bad I couldn't drink it. Even the bartenders need work. The servers to fill a water glass need to do it often without asking, and clear plates between appetizers and dinner. Sharing plates requires fresh clean utensils, spoons and doing it while it's hot. Pasta being shared required fresh shaved cheese. Most of thd servers appear to be young or college kids, and they just don't understand what five star service is. SO IN A NUTSHELL DONT GO HERE. YOU can find plenty of other places. We left and got take oit from thd incredible Chinese restaurant up thd block called Cin Cin, after spending more than $600 dollars here. Sorry.

Excellent meal and service. They even have super duper heaters in case you wish to dine outside when itโs colder. Free parking. Top notch.
Be the first to ReplyA New Chestnut Hill Favorite
Adelina's is a new favorite for us in Chestnut Hill. We visited on August 19, 2023 for dinner. The hostess who seated us was extremely welcoming and friendly, she helped to set the tone for a wonderful dinner outside. We had the stuffed foccacia bread, the octopus appetizer, the seafood linguine, and the taglietelle. The food was incredible, the flavorings/seasonings, temperature, everthing was perfect. The service was excellent. A delightful suprise was the delicious flavored sweet tea! The server was knowledgable and prompt, as were all the serving assistants. We will definitely be going back, a new favorite for sure! Thanks for a fantastic evening Adelina's!

Really a great place for dinner. Fresh ingredients great cocktails, awesome service. True Italian, not American Italian, so donโt come here expecting fettuccini Alfredo. Carbonara was top notch and the the true way, brazing was delicious, octopus was the best Iโve ever had, canโt wait to come back

Seven of us had a wonderful dinner at Adelina's. From start to finish every item we had was absolutely delicious. We began with the Harvest Platter and a tray of cheeses and meats. Generous portions and tasty! We each had different entrees and could not decide whose was the best. We also got a selection of sides and the risotto was among the best I have ever had. We finished the meal with tiramisu and limoncello and that was the perfect end to a perfect dinner. We can't wait to return!

1st time to Adelina's and it was a positive experience. The cocktail selection was tempting, priced appropriately for a finer dining establishment and quite tasty. "Philly Phizz" was my excellent choice and I would order it again. Garrett, our server, knew the drinks and the menu very well, as we had some questions from the menu. "Philly Phizz" was my excellent choice and I would order it again. My dining partner also enjoyed her drink. The crab and langoustine soup was oh, so good. As I was watching my calories (just a bit), or I would have ordered another one. It was chock full of seafood, and that made me very happy. VERY generous serving portion, and priced fairly for the quality of the ingredients. Our pasta entrees were very good. We love the location of this restaurant, and we were frequent patrons when the previous restaurant had a jazz venue on the lower level. Chestnut Hill is sweet town, outside of Ctr. City, and this restaurant is a keeper. We truly miss the downstairs Jazz, and hope that they will consider reinstituting it.

Left hungry! Overpriced for very minimal food. I am 100% Italian. No bread at an Italian restaurant was a first ever. โน๏ธ Pretty atmosphere. Nice waitress. Probably a good location. We do not live in PA and this was a recommendation. Will not be returning.

Food was harsh and small. $34 scallop dish included three scallops,a few slices of potatoes, and hot sauce. Drinks disappointing. All the white wines by the glass are pretty austere.
Be the first to ReplyThe restaurant has a good vibe and a nice menu. A good location in downtown Chestnut Hill.
The service was marginal. And while the food was tasty paying $32.00 for chicken parmesan and being served nothing more than maybe 3 oz. of a bone in chicken bare on a plate was a complete rip off. No pasta with it; just a tiny piece of chicken bare on a plate. It was embarrassing for the restaurant. The server basically ignored us.

I do not think this is a new restaurant. We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary, we are experienced diners, and wanted to try a different place. The location is good and our server was very nice. The food was terrible and completely overpriced. Our appetizer was a meatball dish. It lacked flavor and the polenta cakes added unnecessary texture. Our main dishes were just as bad. Both the branzio and pasta dishes were very overcooked. The prawns on top of the pasta dish were so tiny, they should not have been included in the description of the dish. There was no seasoning and the presentation was also quite sad. They are considerate enough to ask about allergies and special celebrations when you make the reservation. They do nothing with that information. We specified it was our 25th wedding anniversary so I placing our table in the pathway to the kitchen and bathroom was their way of saying "thanks for coming." There were other tables available. The bar looked nice. We will not be returning
