A Taste of the Ritz Paris Reviews from The Last Year
They definitely have good service.
Basically there's 2 staff to every guest. I appreciate that they could help make reservations to French restaurants and events during my stay. The pool and spa were amazing! The food was okay... And the high tea was closed.
Beautiful place to enjoy Afternoon Tea in Paris.
I made reservations for this place and everything was extremely delicious to eat. The aesthetic of this place is amazing and picturesque worthy.
Beautifully appointed room - wonderful food.
We had Christmas Eve dinner outdoors in the main hotel dining room a few years ago, and were eager to try Espadon on this visit. It did not disappoint. The tasting menu was excellent, and the presentation of each course was enthusiastic and informative. Top notch service, great food, and a pleasant tableside visit from the chef, made for a wonderful experience. The room is also luscious. Seating is spacious, and the tables are set far enough apart, as to allow normal conversations. Will return, for sure, on the next Paris visit.
A great experience with some frustrations
A very beautiful place in the center of Paris for all occasions, very attentive and pleasant staff. A very professional cuisine but a little too complicated to really bring a memorable effect. A meal with too many seafood products and strong tastes that not everyone likes. Originality has its limits, a dessert with asparagus for example, it lacked a bit of indulgence throughout the meal. We have no regrets but will not return there for a meal.
A daydream !
A waking dream...from the welcome to the departure of this magnificent place! High quality professionalism, the staff is young, dynamic and accessible which we particularly appreciated. He accompanied us throughout this wonderful journey. As for the trip...what can I say except that the chef transported us! Generous, her cuisine is quite simply a composition of works! This is French cuisine as we dreamed of discovering it one day: innovative, refined and subtle, it has combined French gastronomy with its roots: great art! A huge congratulations!
In a word, elegance.
In two, absolute delight. A warm and inviting dining room, refined and peaceful. Brunch for two. Champagne was provided, and my martini was perfect. Service was beyond expectations, and there was no rush whatsoever; we were able to enjoy a spectacular brunch together without interruption, all the while having a phenomenal server check on us to ensure we were satisfied. Satisfied is too small a word. This was bliss. Highly recommend taking the time to enjoy brunch at the Ritz; you will NOT regret it at all!
A trip to repeat in the gardens...
The corridor which takes us to the restaurant room is of exceptional beauty, all in lightness and purity. The room, on the other hand, is very sad, the carpet is not only not in the spirit of the Ritz but it is dark and all its colors give an impression of cacophony and crush the room which nevertheless has beautiful assets: the magnificent mirrors, the French window doors which invite us to take a stroll in the magnificent garden of the Ritz. The lighting adds to the sadness of the place, the crystal pennants are not proportionate to the dimensions of the room, and poorly lit whose desired effect (I imagine) of translucency is not achieved. The restaurant room reminds us that we are dining in a hotel, it lacks an extra touch of soul. You have the impression of being in a restaurant room of an American hotel. We were uncomfortable in this room which spoiled our culinary journey. However, chef Eugnénie Béziat has real talent: the grilled oysters, the barbecued lobster enhanced by the acidity of the hibiscus and the pork were wonderful. Eugénie Béziat wants to take us on a journey as we rarely can travel, but we stayed on the platform and missed the connection, because of the atmosphere of the room and in the room. The service is too pompous, and lacks simplicity, naturalness, and a touch of humor, as can often be found in other large restaurants. An experience that we will repeat in the gardens in the summer, because the room will be closed and we can then escape!
A delight
A real discovery, a delight! The staff is top notch! The setting is superb, pretty decoration, cozy speakeasy atmosphere. The dishes are prepared to perfection with tastes and controlled risks. The chef wonderfully combines Africa and the West.
An enchanted parenthesis
We spent a wonderful evening at Espadon. First of all, the framework; here no “bing-bling” but a gentle refinement, an intimate atmosphere. Few cutlery and a young team ready to escort us throughout the journey. We happily accept being surprised and disconcerted by unusual combinations of flavors. Eugénie Béziat's cuisine is personal, of course, but very mastered and never disturbing. We are seduced every time. When we approach the banks of sweetness, the pleasure is enriched with new emotions. In the room the atmosphere relaxes, the guests seem delighted with their evening, the staff is always smiling, discreet and efficient. The chef goes from table to table, available for an authentic exchange around what we experienced. When we find the Place Vendôme illuminated, the magic continues. We are left with the memory of a rare moment and the desire to come back, in the sunny days, to discover what Eugénie Béziat will have concocted for us with spring products.
Brought the Mom here for Afternoon Tea, while we were in
Brought the Mom here for Afternoon Tea, while we were in Europe for our Mom-daughter vacay. Quite the experience and so much fun! Servers were beyond nice and helpful. Sandwiches, pastries and teas were so delicious omg! If you're ever visiting Paris, definitely go for Afternoon Tea at the Ritz; very much worth it! Bon anniversaire!
It's good but I was disappointed...
For me it was a myth, but what I ate was good but nothing more. No wow effect - no surprises In short, I was disappointed!
Espadon needs cooking lessons from Paul Bocuse.
We were excited to dine at the new Ritz Espadon however waiting for years to reopen the experience was a sad one. The Ritz hotel is recognized as the best but Espadon is an example of what can go wrong when recipes are created only to be so different as to receive a Michelin star. We dined at Paul Bocuse before his passing and it was delicious with every bite. A world class event! What is a Michelin star worth! Every bite at Espadon was agony. A great chef once said you eat with your eyes and taste with your mouth. We were let down as basic cooking was missing. We however adore and love the Ritz hotel.
Exceptional dinner, wonderful journey in eight sequences... Magnificent creativity from the talented chef, fluid service and...
Each dish was an excellent and exceptional taste discovery, undoubtedly the best meal tasted... We can sense excellent organization in the kitchen visible from the beautiful, airy and spacious room. We will come back with pleasure for intense and exceptional gourmet moments, good luck to all the wonderful team
Very good, but lacking ambiance for the price
This newest iteration of Espadon is located in the very back of the hotel, near the Hemingway Bar. The restaurant used to be in a larger and more impressive dining room. The current spot feels much smaller, and features an open kitchen. It's beautifully decorated, but just doesn't have the same majestic vibe as before. There's a set menu now, 5 courses or 8 courses. Personally, I prefer some level of choice in what I order, because sometimes there are things on the set menu that just don't appeal to me. When spending this large an amount of money for a dinner, I don't want eat things that I don't like. For example, there was a grilled oyster course on the 5 course that I would have passed on, given the chance. Basically, a 5 course set menu can't please everyone. The food itself was very good. There were interesting and unusual flavors. I greatly appreciate that the courses weren't huge, so I was able to eat everything without feeling like I was going to explode. The wine list was excellent. Service was excellent. Sommelier was excellent. The chef was very visible, taking time to walk around and introduce herself to the diners. So that was nice. But, I don't know. It was a huge amount of money to eat here, which is ok, and what I expected. But the ambiance was like a small desolate room in the back of the hotel. Honestly, it wasn't a "wow" type of location, which is kind of disappointing. No matter how good the food is, you're paying for the ambiance of dining at the Ritz, and the new dining room just didn't do it for me. The previous dining room was majestic, and this was...not. It seems like a new trend in luxury dining locations where they are scaling way back, either on the service, or the ambiance. There was absolutely nothing bad about our experience dining here, we had a great time, it's just not like it used to be. The business must not be like it used to be.
Refinement of French art de vivre
The Ritz Paris is one of the most iconic restaurant and provide high-end exceptional services. All staff are dolled up with elegance and step off the beaten track communicate with due diligence and politeness and patience. The Ritz is a place where dreams come true and it is worth any costs and sacrifices to show up at conventional la Belle Époque style and surrender yourself to refinement of French art de vivre💫

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
