853 Jongno-gu Reviews from The Last Year
853 Best BBQ spot in South Korea
853 is a hidden gem Korean BBQ. The place is small. The restaurant is a spot for the locals, great service and delicious food.
Good little lunch place
Good little hidden gem. Good service and food. Seemed authentic and fresh. Good prices. Would recommend when around Insadong.
Should be better- For pork lovers only
I wanted to visit this place- high Ta rating, close to my hotel, etc. Once came there during working hours - it was closed; no sign , nothing. Finally, visited- first surprise: you have to order 2 main dishes to "be qulified" for service. For solo traveller?- particularly I went there for soup , but they forced me to order 2 main dishes of very fatty pork. The bill was about 3 times more, compare to very nice Michelen restaurant next door.
Good food, slightly long wait time
Good food with attentive staff. We went on a Wednesday at 7:15, got in about 8:05 so a decent wait but we did have a party of 6 people. Drinks selection was also good. Might be more accessible to groups of 4 and below.
Authentic Korean Barbecue
We were looking for an authentic Korean barbecue dinner and this was the perfect answer. We have never had this type of dinner and appreciated the guidance from our server. We followed the lead of the couple beside us and the waiter really helped. Plum cocktail was amazing and both the pork shoulder and belly were terrific.
Very professional Korean BBQ restaurant with gluten-free options
We really loved this Korean BBQ restaurant. Staff were just brilliant - professional, patient and kind. We had a coeliac with us, not always easy in Korea, and they checked everything. They explained that she was able to eat all the pork and also the egg bibimbap which we ended up sharing because it was big. All the accompaniments bar two were gluten-free so mustard seeds, wasabi, salts, garlic, kimchi were all fine. The pork was cooked expertly before us and was delicious. We ate pork shoulder, belly (more fat but very tasty!) and cheek and loved it all. A great experience. You will need to write your name on the board when you arrive as it's popular. We felt it was worth our (half hour) wait. Once in we never felt rushed.
Great Korean BBQ
Great place to try Korean BBQ. The revives was wonderful and they explained us the dishes as we didn’t know much about Korean food. The pork was delicious and they prepared carefully. Highly recommend.
Worth to wait to enter at the queue
Worth to wait at the entrance. Very good experience with Korean bbq. You have a choice between four type of pork. Then they will grill you just in front of you in the table. Some cream to go with are very tasty.
Do not recommend, catfish restaurant
Waiting for nothing, crossed our names off the list after waiting. Expected us to wait over an hour for average food. Not happy and do not recommend.

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
